Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Exactly what Musharraf has been saying for the last 5 years.

CJP says full term for parliament victory for rule of law

The imminent completion of parliament’s five-year term indicates there is supremacy of Constitution and rule of law in the country, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said on Saturday. ā€œIt’s a healthy sign that the parliament is completing its term for the first time in national history, and the democratic institutions are strengthening. This is a sign of supremacy of Constitution and rule of law in the country. I hope the democratic institutions will keep getting stronger,ā€ he told a 60-strong delegation of the Youth Parliament.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

He has completely lost it or thinks he is giving a motivational speech. The last 5 years of pakistan were a lot of things but democracy. Iftikhar should know better than blessing it

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Cool! CJ is suddenly regaining his lost wisdom!
Maybe the wig created too much heat during this summer. As autumn approaches things are cooling down.

Once again it seems though;

  • taaza khabar aayi hai
    CJ apna bhai hai… *
    :balley:

Perhaps…

Jul 20 - Chief Justice restored.

Aug 10 - **Musharraf is a fair minded and sincere person says CJ **](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=261313)

Sep 5th - CJ says ā€œno one wants to derailā€ the system.](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=263156)

Sep 8th - **Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ **

To all those who dreamed (quite literally) that the CJ would go gunning for Musharraf after his restoration, these events must be like living nightmares.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

^ it simply proves the view that a deal exists between musharaf and iftikar. for letting iftikhar back alive on the bench, iftikhar will start shoring up musharf but in subtle ways. being smart people they are both living up to the deal

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Yup, but those die-hard obsessives who had such high hopes that the CJ would go after the President will continue to delude themselves otherwise. :)

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

CJ’s gestures are only to avoid marshal law. If marshal law is imposed CJ will be the first person to be chopped.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

No matter how you cut the cake in the end it is Mush who is bad regardless, that is if you are die hard Mush hater for one reason or the other. Its like that Lal Masjid thing, When he did not do anything he was bad but when he did something he is even more bad. :)

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

yeah and his decision to let NS, infinitely increasing the pain in the collective ass of the administration, was part of some super genius conspiracy we’ll only figure out 40 years from now.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

So true, so true.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

it does seem far fetched but consider this. how difficult is it for mush or ifti to figure that given the agreement that ns had signed with 3rd party involvement that he wouldn’t dare return, even with the supcourt letting him? that in their assessment would have been a low risk low hanging fruit to score on. Little did they imagine how dumb and passionate ns is!

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

motive behind the conspiracy meray bhai?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

CJ owes his very position to swearing an oath on the PCO and LFO-amended constitution.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

and Mush owes his position to such discredited judges? Takes two to tango.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

self preservation for both mush and ifti.

mush knows there's no such thing as "living former dictator".
ifti knows he cannot be justice while defending his own household corruption.

both went at each other, realized they both loose and made the deal

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

if that's the case, then Mush is the stupidest thing to hit us since '47. The 'deal' has ended up making both the CJP and NS heros in public's eyes, leading him up the blind alley called PPP. Not only that, Ayub and Yahyah died natural deaths after relinquishing power. Only Zia died mid air.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

The heat has cooled down in the CJ’s head, but not it seems in the heads of his die hard obsessive supporters who find it hard to fathom the higher schemes and deals that really shape governance. They will still clutch to every insincere statement made by their hero’s on public platforms, but in the end they will be the most bitterest.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

once cj's son's affair happened the die was cast for him. once mush decided to act on the cj the die was cast for him. since then they've had to make the best of developments, neither really controlling events fully.

re ayub and zia models - do you think mush will plan for best case or worst case scenario?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

then y was Musharraf stupid enough not to take back the reference when every sane voice in the country asked him to? seeing as how the die had already been cast. why allow the Cj to go to Punjab, and NWFP? Why make a mockery of the country? Just to hatch a conspiracy to stay in power?

Meh...I dont know. If it works for u, carry on. But to me, it only makes dictator look mentally challenged.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

comeon flamie - taking back the reference is admitting defeat. awaiting supcourt verdict is "abiding by the ruling". politicians mind admitting defeat more than losing
