Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
They should've taken Rao instead of Khalil and Irshad as standby pacer, you never know with Sami too.
Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
I would have preferred seeing Irshad. If one believes newspaper reports and some eye witness accounts he is pacier than Shoaib and Sami) Pace is not all that important but considering our lack of backup bowlers, we can do with a tear-away fast bowler.

^ ye kiasa muhawara hay... India eyeing for victory can be said as :
Billi ko khawab mai bhee chhichray nazar aatay hayn
:p

I would say that follow Indian tactics and play at least 4 spinners in the team. coz pacer ar eonly used to remove the shine off the leather in India.
Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
^
we will play kaneria and arshad....
and with afridi we can have a third spinner....
more than enuff i'd say....
Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
well ofcourse that will happen ^^ because they cannot prepare a green top at any cost, they may have pathan and khan, per apna rana and sami is not less at all either
Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
India are very good players of spin bowling…so im afraid Pakistan might play Razzaq as a third seamer…which will be very stupid since his bowling will get smacked all over the place and he cannot play spin bowling and India’s main weapon in bowling is Harbhajan and Kumble. I think the best option would be to go with 2 pacers and 3 spinners…If Shoaib Malik was allowed to bowl I would have gone with him since his batting is really good…but since he cant bowl…I would prefer Afridi..but I have a feeling Pakistan is gonna make a blunder by playing Razzaq! ![]()
Re: Pakistani Squad for India announced./ Full Tour dates (Page 2)
LoL Aejaz Bhai. Door ke dhol suhanay would have been equally fitting as Irshad’s inclusion in the team is away ![]()

‘I don’t think anybody is a favourite’ - Ganguly

Ganguly believes the team will put last season’s mistakes behind them © AFP
Sourav Ganguly, named Indian captain only for the series against Pakistan, reflected on his years as captain, playing Pakistan and John Wright’s future in an interview with Mumbai’s Mid Day.
“Whenever we play Pakistan, there is pressure of winning,” Ganguly said about the upcoming clash. “And it’s going to be no different this time.” He refused to play down Pakistan’s chances and call India the stronger contenders. “I don’t think anybody is a favourite. Pakistan is a good side. They have a few injury problems but they are still a very good side. And we will have to play very, very well to beat them.”
India’s good performances abroad had revolved around strong batting performances and a resurgent bowling attack, but one half had gone awry last year, and this, many believed, led to India’s poor showing. Ganguly sought to put it behind him, saying that the batting had begun to improve towards the end of the year. “We batted well against South Africa and Bangladesh in the last two series. We did not play well in the series against Australia, which we understand, and that’s the reason we lost the series 2-1. It is a one-off thing and I don’t think it’s a major worry.”
One thing - among others - that did concern him was the absence of an allrounder. Every other department was fine. “I don’t think we have a problem with the openers. Gautam Gambhir has done well in that position. The wicket-keepers are still young, but I’m sure one of them will definitely come up and do the job. As for allrounders, yes, that’s definitely a problem in India. That’s the only problem area.”
He spoke of the highs – “… the 2003 World Cup, the series in Pakistan, the series in Australia, the two ICC Mini-World Cups which we’ve played, the tour of England, the Natwest Series, beating Australia in 2001…” – and the lows – “Losing to Australia recently.” – and said that many good things had happened to the team.
He said that John Wright’s decision to leave was entirely his own, and that it may have been prompted by a longing to return home. “I reckon he has been away from his family for a long time. That’s what may have prompted the decision. We worked well together but obviously now John has to go back which I fully understand. We need to move on, and he too needs to move on with life!”

These kind of 'Revenge' statements whenever India-Pakistan play, whether from the indian or pakistan captain seem more like an effort to prove to their supporters that they r going to try their hardest.

Heavy security greets Pakistan on first India tour in six years](http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/050228/3/9dd0.html)

NEW DELHI (AFP) - Pakistan’s cricket team, captained by Inzamam-ul Haq, flew into India amid tight security for their first full tour across the border since 1999.
The 16-man squad and the support staff, led by coach Bob Woolmer, arrived at the heavily-guarded Indira Gandhi airport in the Indian capital by a Pakistan International flight from Lahore on Monday.
Gun-toting commandoes kept a strict vigil as the tourists were whisked off in buses to their downtown hotel. The 10-kilometre (6.2-mile) route from the airport to the hotel was dotted with security personnel in uniform and plainclothes.
Hindu fundamentalists have threatened to disrupt the tour in protest at what they say is Pakistani support to militancy in the disputed region of Kashmir.
“I am delighted to be back in India,” Inzamam said on arrival at the hotel.
"I have always enjoyed playing here because people are crazy about cricket.
“I am not worried about security. My only concern is how my team plays on the tour.”
Inzamam, who turns 35 on Thursday, took part in Pakistan’s last tour of India in 1999 and also played in the one-day international at Calcutta last November to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Indian cricket board.
The Pakistanis will stay overnight in New Delhi before boarding a chartered aircraft on Tuesday morning for Dharamshala, the northern hill resort where the three-day tour opener against the Indian board president’s team starts on Thursday.
Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests and six one-day internationals during the 50-day tour. On their previous visit in 1999, they drew the two-Test series 1-1 and won the Asian Test championship match in Calcutta.
The first Test begins in the northern town of Mohali on March 8 followed by back-to-back Tests in Calcutta and Bangalore.
The one-day internationals will be played from April 2 at Cochin, Visakhapatnam, Jamshedpur, Ahmedabad, Kanpur and New Delhi.
Cricket ties between the warring neighbours, disrupted since 2000 due to political tensions, were revived in March last year when India toured Pakistan for their first Test series since 1989.
India won both the Test and one-day series on the pathbreaking tour.
