The bad thing about the selection is that Pakistan can't pick its squad after the toss so we know who to play. If Pakistan wins the toss, Afridi is not required, but if we bat 2nd, than Afridi is a must.
We have to promote guys like Wasim Akram, Rashid Latif, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and Inzimam ul Haq up the order. They need to swing the bat at every delivery possible. Saeed maybe good if we bat first, and Taufeeq shouldn't be included.
We have to take a big gamble, we have to win either in these restrictions or lose the game.
If Pakistan bats first
Saeed Anwar
Shahid Afridi
Inzimam ul Haq
Wasim Akram
Shoaib Akhtar
Rashid Latif
Abdul Razzaq
Younis Khan
Azhar Mahmood
Waqar Younis
Muhammad Sami
If Pakistan bats second
Shahid Afridi
Rashid Latif
Wasim Akram
Shoaib Akhtar
Inzimam ul Haq
Abdul Razzaq
Azhar Mahmood
Younis Khan
Waqar Younis
Muhammad Sami
We need attacking bowler. Zimbabwe has a good batting lineup but their bowlers are not threatning.
**well if Pakistan doesnt win the toss and bat first, its a pretty hopeless situation. Pakistan needs to be at thier utmost ruthless best which is only a joke these days. Even if Pakistan bats first , Afridi really needs to click, Youhana needs to be in the same purple patch he was in against Zim last year. We should aim for around 150 in first fifteen overs. I know its too far fetched but we have to do it if we are going to qualify. But the point is, ZIm will play for thier lives as they know they have a chance too. If Zim bats second, 200 in 13.2 overs?? its a joke. 150 in 12.2 overs?? slightly less funny and 100 in 10.5. well that is possible.
The last time they played zimbabwe thhey crossed 300 four times out f five and thats exactly needs to be done.

Sorry, I missed Saeed in 2nd inning, but he should be in lower order, as we need aggressive players on the top, if Pak chases.
Youhana is defensive, and he is not in his best form, and he doesn't have the ability to score right in the begining.
guys it doesnt matter if we win the toss or not..zimbabwe wouldnt want us to bat first because they wouldnt be able to chase anything over 250..they are not concerned about the points because they must win the game in order to advance..if pak plays first they know pak will score close to 300 and it will be imposible for them to win the game...so they would wanna bat first
most likely they will bat first and score around 150..pakistan will need to score 150 in 61 bowls....just think about it they have 10 wickets so its not impossible
I just hope our team knows exactly what they are required to achieve and in how many overs whether they bat or bowl first.
What i am confident about is the fact that it’s a ‘nothing to lose’ situation for us…and no pressure at all as well. We sure can try and go blazing all guns and do some magic :~)
If Zim be the gentlemen they have been…and realize during the game that they can’t really win against us…they should lose in a manner that enables us to go thru
Let me make one point clear,
all this bull crap about pakistan does not deserve to be in the super six stage is not right.
this is a harsh world and forget about the deserves to and does not deserve to.
We need to win convincingly and it requires a miracle, I hope we do win and if we go through then all the better, Inshallah we win. Whether we deserve to go through or not is not relevant!

Rashid Latif has dissapointed me as well. he should have played even if a bang occured at his head.

Yar Ali...you are right...but as we heard...he was dizzy. It may have taken a lot of will power to stand up immediately after he got hit...and i think it is always better to have a fit keeper than one who is dizzy..woh bhi itne imp match main :~)
Ok guys i figured it out..as we know zimbabwe will bat first, doesnt matter who wins the toss...zimbabwe wouldnt want to chase anything over 250 because they only want to win the game..and it would be in pakistans interest too, to have zim bat first..so here is the deal
so most likely scenario would be:
Pakistan needing 150 in 12.1 overs = 73 bowls
or
Pakistan needing 200 in 13.2 overs = 80 bowls
the sooner we can get them out the better
p.s. can someone forward this post to waqar..thanks
Pakistan is out of the cup, realistically speaking (unless a miracle happens) However, the world cup is still pretty interesting, as Kenya has made it in the super sixes ;)

*...so as india did :)
**Figures provided by the International Cricket Council showed that if Zimbabwe batted first and scored 200 runs, Waqar Younis's side would have to reach the total in 13.2 overs to get through.
If Pakistan batted first and made 250, they would then need to dismiss their opponents for 62 or less.
