Pakistan vs Zimbabwe

Now Pak must beat Zimbabwe by atleast 150+ runs to get in to the super sixes, and thats only if England loses to Australia.

Teams Runrate
Zimbabwe 0.50
England 1.07
Pakistan 0.23

Now England must lose to Australia misrebly so there runrate drops… where at the same time Pak must beat Zimbabwe by a big margin… This is our only hope.

Also, what are the odds of Pakistan beating Zimbabwe?

True, Pakistan is long way behind in net run rate.
It is going to take a huge win for both Australia and Pakistan to get Pak into super 6.
I still think Pak will beat Zimbabwe but not by a huge margin. Anything else would be a miracle.

Come on guys stop this crap about Australia beating England. A team that can not win matches on its own doesn't deserve to be in the knockout round. How many times we have to rely on other team for our progress. I don't think this team deserves to go to the next time. Thats the sad truth :(

well Englands gone loose for sure...and yeah Pakistan can beat Zimbabwe..they just need to have a high run rate ...that all! Anyway Good Luck to them!!!!

Well realistically we're out, but at least we can go out and play our shots aggressively against Zimbabwe. No one expects us to go through so we can play a bit more freely in this one.

Well it doesnt matter anymore. coz i think England wont let thier runrate drop that much. Anyways i was goign through a website and they had kinda calculations made there, i will post them here after summarizing them, Though i must say i dont think its gonna happen BUT i certainly Hope so.

**

Eng 200 Aus 200 in 30 Englands final NRR 0.60
Eng 150 Aus 150 in 27 Englands final NRR 0.46
Aus 300 Eng 200 Englands final NRR 0.45
Aus 260 Eng 180 Englands final NRR 0.51

After this What Pakistan can acheive probably is

Pak 300 Zim 150 Pakistans final NRR 0.67
Pak 250 Zim 130 Pakistans final NRR 0.59
Zim 200 Pak 200 in 30 Pakistans final NRR 0.51
Zim 150 Pak 150 in 25 Pakistans final NRR 0.57
**

The best idea would be to field first and bowl them out cheaply. By doing that we will EXACTLY know what to acheive.

We are out. Only Allah can get us in now.

yeah when our fielding sucks so bad and our player put butter on their hands before comming to the field and dropping two crucial match winning catches then only allah can get us in.

It seems PAK is out of the WC they should pack and head back home but before that they should do a favour to ZIM. They should lose to ZIM and let ZIM go to the supper six instead of Eng.

you never know :) Remember 1992 wc, how Pakistan made through the cup!

anyway,
*1. Pakistan has to win first Toss againsat zim,
else they need to chase the score at a rate of " required run rate + 3 rums" if they bat second,
and if they bat first they must be looking a score close to 400, cuz zim battig line up is better as well...
2. Australia may not be interested in winning the match against England!

lets hope for the best, and pray to Allah, atleast we can pray outside the groud! :)

Against Zimbabwe may be the last ODI match for Saeed Anwar and Rashid Latif.

Saeed Anwar, I think this guy can still play for a few more years but he wishes to retire and completely dedicate himself to Islam.

exactly. Pakistan is more dangerous than Englang. So Aust won't like Pak to advance. I think Aust won't lose but win like it was a miracle win. Just like we lost to India, our NRR didn't drop much. Aust will win but not with a big margin. I don't think Aust. would wanna see their '12th straight win' messed up afterall.

Australia will be very interested in winning this match, because they want to carry the maximum points with them to the super sixes.

You've made an excellent point but remember, the points in these rounds are going to be counted in Super Sixes too. If Australia beats England, then even if Australia loses all three of his matches in Super sixes, its still advanced to the Semi-finals.

Australia has 24 pts, even if they lose all three mathes in Super six, Australia is still in the semis.

So I doubt Australia will purposely lose to England.

I think Taufeeq did a very good job wicket keeping, and once Rashid Latif retires, Taufeeq should be the full time wicket keeper. It will be good for Pakistan, as he can open the innings and it will also give Pakistan the chance of playing an extra bowler or batsmen in place for Rashid. I think this will give Pakistan depth in both departsments. As for Zimbabve....Pakistan jus need to go and play their shots. They virtually have nothing to play for except to end of the WC on a winning note. Their faith depends on Aus and Eng. I think Pakistan will bring in players like Sami, Azhar...who haven't played in the WC to give them a chance to play.

Streak brimming with confidence

Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak said his team were looking forward to playing Pakistan in the final game in group A.

Zimbabwe are now joint third in the group and have an excellent chance of advancing to the Super Six stage after beating minnows Holland by 99 runs on Friday.

Streak said: **"We have set ourselves up for Pakistan.

"Hopefully the guys can take a bit of confidence from this match to the Pakistan match.

“The guys are fighting hard and that is good to see.” **

The best thing pakistan can do right now is to field first, bowl zimbabwe out for less then 150 and THEN pakistan will know in exactly how many overs they need to get those runs. Insha'allah we will qualify and knowing kenya is in super sixes, pakistanis must be feeling really hopeful for semis if we qualify . Insha'allah we will.

Let me hit the conclusion...

Pakistans run rate23 where Englands run rate is .82.

If Pakistan bats first, how much do they must score in order to boost up their run rate and alongside, for how many runs should pakistan bowl them out?

If Pakistan bowls first, how many runs should be given in 50 overs? and then at pace should we score those run to get that total in as less overs as possible?
