They were probably the better team on the day

Pakistan tried hard but fell short… hota hai!! As the tournament progressed, one expected the pitches to get slower and the scores to be lower. 140+/- is a defendable total on these pitches if you have decent spinners in your side. Australia struggled against us the other day and it was sadly our turn today. Lankan spinners never allowed us to get ahead of the RRR. Considering it was a low scoring game, Gul’s last over was very expensive. Afridi should probably retire now

Pakistan has been the most consistent team in World T20 tournaments. Two finals, champions once, and two semifinals is a great record.

As much as we’re all hating Afridi right now, this does make me a bit sad. Growing up in the 90’s, I remember Afridi being regarded as a national hero. He was a much loved khilari. Now I’m not a cricket fanatic any more (as I was back in the day) so I don’t even know the names of all the players in our current team. I feel no connection with all these relatively new faces as I did with the likes of Inzamam, Yousuf, Wasim, Shoaib, Waqar and Afridi etc. I miss those guys but what’s sad is that the likes of Afridi and Shoaib have left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth towards the end of their careers. :hinna:

who said it is end of Afridi’s career, he is only 32, so probably you will see another 4 years of “Afridi can do it, he has done it in past”

I know you guys are disheartened after today's loss so i wont rub it in.

Well played Sri Lanka, they truely deserved to be in Finals.

For most of the time the game was in Pak's hands but SL managed to snatch it away.

May be hafeez should have really plated Razzaq, he is an unused asset of pak.

But hey, look at the bright side. In 10 days you can start Cheering for Sialkot Stallions. CL should be more competitive than this WC.

Key decisions went wrong:

We needed Razzaq in the team today. For his finishing skills. Shoaib Malik should have been made to sit out this game.

Nasir Jamshed was given out LBW. Wrong decision. That turned the tide in Lankans favour. Plus that double blow of Hafeez and Afridi. Hafeez played a weird innings to be honest. First he put Nazir in extreme pressure with a slow start. Then did not take advantage of a dropped catch and threw his wicket away. Game was lost then.

Cannot fault bowlers. They bowled well.

And yeah Afridi bashing is at its peak. The guy has been a great performer but its about time he leaves the stage because the resilience is not just there anymore. His performances have been brilliant at times for Pakistan but one thing about our players is that we never know when to let go. I hope he does some soul searching and decides that its the right time. Its sad but time does not wait for anyone. His brilliant hand eye coordination is just not there anymore.

HE showed that he can't take the pressure and lead from front...He needs a few more years.
