Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Inzi played an extremely poor shot...but nonetheless he is a legend. One of the best batsmen to ever play cricket. Its sad to see him go out like this...I was really hoping he would break Miandad's record :(
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Harris to Yousuf, FOUR!!,
i hope they are not playing for draw ...............
n i hope they win
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
no pak is not. required run rate is over 6 RPO…pretty much impossible. so now they’ll try to save the match which they’ve been doing all day. very bad approach and attitude by the whole team. match was theirs to win but stupid, slow n over-protective mentality kept them from showing aggression. :halo: ![]()
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
malik yet to get off the mark ......... he has faced 10 balls so far ......
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Okay very thoughtful of you. Now I think you should move onto observing your own mentality and attitude. It needs a little bit attention too. =P
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
this match will be telling of malik's captaincy;
if he has guts he should go for the match; if he's afraid of scruitny he'll play it safe.
i bet if australia were in this exact situatio they'd go for the win.
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore

Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
tea break...
PAK 282/4...trailing by 175 with 25overs left...
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
With that, it is Tea on the final day
Pakistan require another 175 runs with 6 wickets remaining
Min overs remaining 25.0 s
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
tea break...
PAK 282/4...trailing by 175 with 25overs left...
Time to play like a 20/20
If Pakistan draws the game, they have lost the series anyway... should go for a fight as a brave unit than going all defensive IMO :)
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Inzi :(
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
ahhh, what an end to Inzi era, a legend, sad he went without making a difference in the last match.... I don't care about the record, to me he is one of greatest batsmen!
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
i must say a gutless performance going on here by yousuf and malik.
once again, they take the safe way out....
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
draw... hmmm
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Pakistan will be all-out just before Tea for a paltry 234. Just wait and see. You funatics haven't learned the lessons from less than a week ago? Keep dreaming about draw and whatnot. Oye hutiyo, learn one thing...there is NO draw when a team is chasing 350 on the final day.
*Roni BoothiaaN, durr fite mooN! Bisti mehsoos kar hun apni.
well done Pakistan!*
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore

Yes but ,they will lose only 3 points rather then 5 in the rankings.
With only 12 points separating 2nd to 7th, this is quite significant
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
Our all round weakness was exposed in this series. The bowling is toothless, not in one innings did we check the Saffie scoring, seam bowlers are no good on dead tracks. As for the spinners, they disappoint. Kaneria hasnt the tools to get heaps of wickets at a good rate, time to look for a replacement.
The opening batsmen are crap, and the middle order reserves if MY is absent are rubbish. Where is the talent our people hype on about so much?
I have failed to see it.
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
I don't know what to feel today. I am relieved as much as any other Pakistani here that we fought really hard to earn a much-needed morale-boosting draw, more importantly avoided the embarrassment of a home series whitewash. Losing only three wickets on the final day of a test is a very satisfactory performance. At the same time I cannot help feeling sad for Inzi because he failed in both his missions, narrowly failed to take Miandad's Pakistani record and failed to maintain his test average of fifty (49.60). It is perhaps fair to say that Inzi is the second greatest Pakstani batsman after Miandad.
This series has highlighted three main problem areas
1- the openers are crap
2- We need a better WK. Yes Akmal made runs in this test but his primary role is as a wicket-keeper. That's what he was picked for. Nothing, not even a test hundred can compensate for dropped catches/missed stumpings. A dropped chance against the likes of Kallis and Ponting means 100-150 runs to the opposition and he has been dropping 2-3 catches per innings which is simply not acceptable at this level. Better to play him purely as an opener and have someone like Sarfraz Ahmed take over the duties behind the stumps
3- our bowling minus Akhtar lacks bite. Asif and Gul are decent support rather than out and out strike bowlers. They looked pretty innocuous on these slow tracks. Kaneria is over-rated. He takes wickets but he has to bowl a hell of a lot of overs - something like 40-50 overs per innings to get 2-3 wickets! - In other words he is crap.
Re: Pakistan Vs South Africa: 2ND TEST MATCH (Oct 8-12) @ Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore
^ It is VERY wrong to dub Asif as a mere support bowler. He made his mark against India and SL on these very slow subcontinent pitches. Yes he was disappointing in this series but its a tantamount to his sensational start that this loss of form hit us that hard. Support bowler? Thats REALLY unfair on your part to say that.
Agree with Kaneria bit though.
