it was silly to play that shot. there was no need to charge down the pitch for a 6 or 4. match was going no where so he had ample time to get the remaining 3 runs to break the record. poor chap...bad judgment at such a crucial time...

What an end. This was his last Test innings. Probably, he wanted to play aggressively, perhaps, reach the record in style ... perhaps, he wanted to show Harris can be hit and wanted to go for the win. Who knows but the man himself. He had sat whole day, in the pavilion, waiting to come out to bat one last time and it has ended it like this. Bradman was out for a duck in the last game. Inzy has gone for three. Such is this game.
Inzamam was given a guard of honour by his team-mates as he walked out of the ground for one last time. The camera showed his back. Wonder what was he thinking.
90.1 Harris to Inzamam-ul-Haq, OUT, OMG! he is gone. What a tame anticlimactic end to a great career. He charged out, aiming to hit Harris out of the ground but was beaten in the flight. He never reached the pitch of the ball but still went through with the shot. The ball spun past the bat and Boucher did the last rites. Gone. Javed Miandad' record stays intact.
