Pakistan Vs Namibia

Inzimam is so way better then afridi :grumpy:

Pakis are back!!!

Way to go !

Wasim and Shoaib simply outstanding.
Akram 5/28, Akhtar 4/46

Pak won by 171 runs!

Congrats to all... We defeated a sub standard team, but WITH A CLASS.

All the best wishes to the team, but to me, it's a
half victory. We should have scored more than 325
with every batsman making over 50 runs. In second
inning, we should have got them out under 50. Don't
see what they are, see what we are! Anyhow still not bad.

i think all in all pakistan should be happy with our performance this time. all the batters looked to be in good enough nick except inzamam who needs to get his act together.

It's no good being in good nick if no one goes on to make a match-winning knock. I can't remember the last time Younis Khan won us a game, although he always looks ok while he's out there. 20's and 30's just aren't going to cut it.

The top five batsmen should all be aiming to hit hundreds or significant fifties. Too many of them look like they've forgotten how to do it over the last few months.

Even Saeed Anwar was playing some great shots so he luk in good form:k:
Good Luck Pakistan in the next match!
:jhanda:

bowling performance was excellent! but u have to admit, batting was just NOT upto standards........

let's hope the bowlers don't get carried away with their succes (saqlain, shoaib, wasim all looked 'fresh' after the aussie defeat)

Pak vs Aus game 2 in June 2002 in Colonial Stadium, Melbourne. He won us the match batting second.

Overall, not a bad performence by Pakistan. But Inzamam really needs to get his act together. Lets see how he does in the game against England. No matter how good your previous record is, but scores of 6 and 4 in the first 2 WC matches just isn't gonna do it. Pakistan really needs him to get his act together, or there are many other all rounders ready to play and can score more runs than he's currently scoring. Lets hope he does something special agianst England.

That's great fg, but top 5 batsmen need to do it more than once or twice a year. Younis always looks like a good player to me but he doesn't really make enough big scores these days. This applies to all of our 'top order' batsmen. I wasn't too concerned about bowlers like Wasim and Shoaib being criticised because I always felt they'd produce when the WC came around - if only for the sake of pride.

I'm hoping that our match-winning batsmen (Saeed, Inzimam and Yoyo) will also produce when the time comes.

Bhai, no all-rounder can replace what Inzimam gives us. We're short on quality batsmen as it is. Watching Elahi scratch around against the likes of Namibia brought that home to me today. Inzimam has flayed the best attacks from all over the world. When your all rounders can boast of that then I might have some confidence in such an idea.

Namb - Pak, was a match Pakistan had to win indeed and they did , would have preferred Paksitan to finish off the match at around 45ish but never mind the boyZ took it a bit easy after the ninth wicket i guess. All in all well done To the whole Pakistani TeaM and all Paksitanis on this forum. We all needed a win agaisnt Neembuu. Lets hope that they can reproduce similar performance agaisnt Engalnd and India in comming matches.

I agree, Inzamam is a great player. But he has been really struggling since his injury and since he has lost weight. He can demolish any bolwing attack, but 6 against the aussies in the first match and 4 against a third rate bolwing attack like Namibia was really dispointing to see. If he continues to play like this, then I dont think we have any chance of winning the WC. Abdul Razzaq has also been struggling ever since he has come back in to the side after his injury. Lets hope these 2 can get their act together in the very important match against England.

Im kinda glad wasim akram didnt get his 500 wickets against namibia... It would be sweet if he gets them against the English... I think his best performance as a bowler was in the 1992 world cup final, and it was against England, so that would be great!!!

inshallah , he'll reach this milestone in the next match. I want to see Kamaran Akmal in the next match...

And I was hoping he would complete his 500 wickets against the indians well never mind :)

It would have been super sweet if Tendulkar would have been his 500th victim. There can't never be a bigger rivarly between a bowler and a batsman then Wasim and Sachin.
Lets hope Shoaib and Waqar fire up against the whinie poms and let Wasim have his 500 on March 1.

where that came from?? :D
never mind.

Namibia win

What exactly is the reason behind humungous celebrations after taking each namibian wicket? for godsakes they all have highest scores of 4!

Pakistani team needs to get a hold of themselves. I even saw a player with a wicket in his hand to take home :halo: shoaib seemed more cool about it all but not wasim he was imagining he’s playing agaisnt Australia. We all know what happens to this team whenever they get better batsmen to ball to.

just shows at which level of confidence they all are these days.

well your frustration is understandable but please KK ke visitors per rehem kertay huay hur dafa aik hee topic per alag thread na khola karo mere bhai :D

P.S well they were celbrating coz they were winning after quite a while so what???

Arey bhai....its nothing new, and neither does it have anything to do with Namibia. Its just Wasim's ultimate love and desire to take wickets. He loves taking wickets...For Wasim his 490th was just like as if it was his very first international wicket.

And it is his very desire....which keeps him going as if he was a 20 year old. Otherwise how many 36 year olds, diabetics do you actually get to see, terrorizing even the best batsmen in the world.
