For me this series is over. I have no interest in ODI when played on subcontinent wicket. It is simply unnecessary murder of bowler. We will see quite a few 300+ matches and may be some 350. We will also see tullibaaz becoming Hero overnight.

Instead of playing on a pitch, they should play in a mud pool. Its pathetic to watch 5 days of WAISTE TIME CRICKET. Unless making runs was the only purpose. I think its about there should be some standard for making pitches. Almost all aspect of cricket is covered by rules, why not this too.

Reading many of the responses above, seems like India (or at least Indian fans) consider Pakistan to be the underdogs now, and India will start as favorites. Which is good, cz Pakistan always performs well, when they are underestimated. Not to mention that Pakistan has only lost one test match in its entire history of playing at National Stadium in Karachi.

In a way I agree.
What I think is that with pakistan being fav at the start of series because of series win against ENG, they are now under tremendous pressure to win this last match.
If India wins toss and bats first then Pakistani might crumble under the pressure of winning as well as pressure of runs.Mind it they havenot yet batted under pressure in this series..
So , assumption here is that India wins the toss and puts up good score.

About the only time when the wicket offers any real assistance to the bowlers is usually the morning of the first day when their is moisture in the air and the pitch is hard. That much we all know.
Now assuming India did win the toss (I hope Dravid is practicing for it really hard :-D) and (naturally) elect to bat, and Pakistan's bowlers somehow wake up from the slumber and get some quick wickets to put pressure, that will really open the game. India is likely to go with 5 batsmen, and with two of them a bit out of form right now, Pakistan really needs just 3 wickets to expose the tail. A sub-standard score by India in the first innings will mean Pakistan can take a first innings lead. Usually the easiest time to bat in a test match are days 2 and 3. From day 4, pitch will start to show wear and tear, and bowler footmarks and that will open it up for spinners to create problems for the batsmen. What this means is that India will be batting on 4th and 5th day to avoid innings defeat. And Pakistan retains its 100% winning record against India at National Stadium Karachi. Kahani khatam...

2 out of form batsmen. who are they? If you mean Sachin and Yuvraj then They just failed in one inning. Yuvraj had a very good series against SL and I dont think Sachin will act Mother Teresa again.
I agree mornig of first day is crucial. That is only time it is little friendly for bowler once it is negotiated, It is easy from there. I doubt that India will go with 5 batsman this time. Harbhajan with kookabura ball is total waste. he should only play in India where SG ball is still used and wicket is friendly for him. He will be dropped and since we dont have any other spinner as replacement I think Ganguly will be in the team.
So if you go by these assumptions then Pak will be batting on 4th-5th day.

We should go in with SIX bowlers. I am not kidding. That is our weakness and we need to shore that up. Forget Ganguly for now.
Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, Dhoni, Irfan, Kumble, RP Singh, Harbhajan, Zaheer AND a 6th bowler. I don't know who but we need a 6th bowler. If he can bat also that's great. But we need a 6th bowler

Had india played the first test in Karachi instead of chosing to play at Lahore, it would have been a different story. Its all indians fault so why crying...oh well as usual one can expect from the indians. :D Like their crying for a jhanda ;)

I agree with you on yuvraj. He has been been playing really well lately. As far as tendi goes, I don't think he will be doing any damage considering his recent form lately.
Wil love to see gangu in the side one last time.
