Pakistan V Bangladesh - Test and ODI series.

42.5 Umar Gul to Tapash Baisya, FOUR, overpitched, driven hard and well
placed in the gap to cover boundary, what a shot! :smack:

BD 154 all out. Pakistan need 261 runs to win. Could this be the first BD test victory?

Target: 261. Some Pak player should play a big innings now. And always hit the ball hard when in trouble.

261 to win on this pitch is a tall order. Very achievable but do we have the calibre of batsmen it will require? My money would be on BD here considering we have a long tail and a couple of debutants. Time for our lads to stand up and be counted, but the only one I'm confident will do it is Yaasir Hameed.

I think we can play this innings as ODI at a RR +4 and finish the job today. :)

Salman Butt out to a poor shot for 37. :nook:

Pakistan 45/1.

Last thing we need is for these guys to play silly shots.

^But he did score. :) You cannot stay on the crease for ever.

Hafeez dropped by first slip.

Occupation of the crease is very important as well and 37 runs is not really earth shattering.

^I don't see any use of lots of dot balls and an over-cautious play which leads in the end to get out without making runs.

Haha..Hafeez has been dropping catches too...so its even now.

At Tea Pakistan 52/1 requiring another 209 runs to win.

37 runs from a debutant in a low scoring game could be quite a significant score. As for Hafeez occupying the crease, in this match so far he's occupied it more by luck than good batting. He was caught behind and dropped during his first innings 21 and he's offered a sitter in this game as well.

I like his application but his footwork is not very convincing (unlike Hameed's) and he looks vulnerable outside off stump to me. A player who ocupies the crease needs to be solid as a rock.

Hafeez gone! I knew it...lol...only staying at crease to get out in the end. 17 runs from 8 overs.

Lets hope Inzi and Yasir do something BIGGG

62-2

Hafeez gone, caught slashing outside off stump (read above statement about being vulnerable outside off stump).

This is pretty much where the game will be won or lost right here. Inzi and Hameed have the technique AND the ability to dominate the Banglas. Whether they do is a different matter but Inzi's career must be on the line right here.

It seems, it's not Yasir's day today. 6 runs off 31 balls.

It sems the basic thing of occupying the crease rotating the strike and staying there si not what people want. They want a qucik fire 37 and be down 100/3 and come under pressure and lose the match.

Some strategy.

He is trying to understand the bowlers . He will fire, just wait.

Well, 100/3 is not a bad score provided the middle & lower order contribute their share too in scoring...it's a team game!
