Pakistan tour of England - June 2003

We lacked basics today. None of the bowlers clicked and so did none of the batters (apart from Youhana). Pakistan has to produce consistently to win matches on a continuous basis. Anyways i am not disappointed That much. Yes we played badly but this yougn team can play better than this for sure. and insha'allah they will on sunday.

haye ray qismat!! :crying: And I thought match isn’t today and went to sleep adhi raat kali kernae kae baad!!

oh we lost?!! sonay pae suhaga :(

anyway, many Sympathies to Pakistan*ies* who watched the match. --> :p

Same here sister. :frowning:

Great batting by English. They simply outplayed and outclassed Pakistani team.
Very bad bolwing by mr. Big mouth Shoib and Sami.
I hope they will come back in next match.

When did Sami open his big mouth? :konfused:

Well big mouth word was for Shoib.
Sami is great guy.I apologize if it sounded like that.

Yaar, every bloody batsman has sussed this shoaib out. He doesnt even have any tricks up his sleeve like wasim used to and still does. He just keeps bowling as fast as he can with total dis-regard to line and length. Tosser.

:hehe:

Kudos to Anderson. What a quick learner!!. He bowled with maturity.
Our bowlers may have played in over one hundred matches, but they still bowl like it is their first match. [apologies to players in their first match - infact they probabily bowled better on their debut than this lot today.].

Non of this this crap about Pakistan having a bad day on a great batting track. Pakistan bowled sh**te.

I heard once from the English press claiming Anderson to be the next 'David Bekham' of International Cricket.

Pakistan just played bad. No buts or ifs.
I don't expect Pakistan to win the next game, because England seem to have quite the bowling attack now, especially with Gough back.

Everyone has given up fate in Shoaib Akhtar. Its no use telling him something, he'll never listen to you unless it dealth with booze and women.
Umar Gul is a very talented young lad, with precise line and length, I don't think the Cricket World is scared of Akhtar anymore, when as in 1999.

I was also deeply disapointed when there was no pitch invasion. Being Pakistani means its our duty to do pitch invasions!! Pakistan let me down twice today :(

I have a feeling that Pakistan doesnt have an answer for Anderson's yorkers. Pakistani batsmen struggled to play Anderson in all three of the games.

Most of Anderson's wickets in this series have been against the lower order batsmen at the end of the innings, but he's got the abilty to swing it both ways. He bowled with a lot more discipline than some of our guys today.

It shouldnt matter whether he claimed the wickets of lower order batsmen or top order. Most of his victims were all rounders or specialist batsmen.

First game of the series.
He was little expensive at the beg but then he came back with deadly spells

Hafeez c
Younis khan b
Rashid latif LBW

Second game
Imran nazir LBW
Razzaq c
Shoaib c
Sami b

I'm not counting WC but he had similar devastating figures ofcourse with some pitch assistance but thas not the point. This guy is causing some major problems and we are struggling against him.

Well i saw the WC game and under the lights he was virtually unplayable, but there's been nothing that exceptional looking in this series about his bowling, at least not to the naked eye. A lot of the time it just looks like these guys aren't playing straight and get out trying to work it to leg.

Aaaye haye!
Mein yahaan bhaagi bhaagi aayee thie to read some good news (as I was at work alll day and didn’t know the end result), aur Pakistani to beechaaare haar baithe.

OOoh well hopes r up for Sunday :k: :hula:

Exactly, our batsmen are messing up their footworks. tHey arent timing the yorkers well. Anderson is a decent bowler nothing extraordinary about him.

So much experimentation ? I mean whats the need of dropping Inzi or even Wasim who can play for at least a year ? We never lost that badly 180 + in 20 overs ? Shame on the board .

I think there was only one positive from this game and that was Youhana getting his form back. I think it was really important for Youhana to have a good game and thats what he had, too bad it was in a losing cause. Hopefully the team will bounce back in the next game.

I wouldn't go that far. I remember the beatings he got in the WC after that one good performance.

Got Smashed…

Yet again, Shoaib Akhtar opened his Big Mouth and got taste of his own medicine. Although, Pakistani bowlers got smashed all over the Oval Ground by the English batsmen but, IMO, that’s not the case. Whenever Akhtar opens his mouth, he always performs worst than you could ever imgained. For instance, the WC lesson given by Sachin Tendulkar. Check Akhtar’s performance in the Bank Alfalah Cup Tournament. Economic rate less than 3.5 runs per over with wickets. Reason? Skipper Latif kept his profile low as possible; and Akhtar performed fantastic. But when he hit out on Wasim-Waqar that they’re not match-winner anymore, he got thrashed in the next game.

Let’s face it. Akhtar consider himself to be a person from another planet. He thinks he’s unique 'cause he’s got pace, the World’s Most Fastest Bowler medal and all that. You know what, dreams never ends…Wasim-Waqar legacy is way way out of Akhtar’s reach, heck, it will take years to Akhtar to even become a qtr of what Wasim & Waqar capable of. Since Shoaib Akhtar got Tendulkar on Duck in Calcutta Test and destroyed Aussies batting in the Super Chanllenge, he’s been living a high life. In the Jang-News Paper, Akhtar lashes out at Pakistan’s print media that they’re trying to destroy his career and portray him as a “Bad Boy.” Excuses Excuses Excuses…

It was believeable why Razzaq, Mehmood couldn’t be able to give a breakthrough since both bowlers have never bowled under 15 overs spell. Sami used more pace than a better line and length. I prefer this young fella. He’s, young, learning and believes everyday you learn something.

The batting department has been worst so far in the NatWest Challenge. Openers failed to provide any solid start as they did in the 1st match. Though, Hafeez and Hameed did try to establish a partnership but it wasn’t enough. The wickets kept falling down, increased pressure once again on the middle order. Younis Khan still struggling to find his form. Two times on Duck… SUCKS. The good news, as you may all think, would be a great come back of Yousuf Youhana after 7-8 games. Yeah, I hear ya, but what about his mis-communication with Malik at the other wicket end?

For the last and deciding ODI, I must say Pakistan has to do alot of planning. Winning is not everything since the team is in the process of rebuilding. I won’t be disappointed if Pakistan lost the Final Game on Sunday. What I’ll be looking forward to is how the team performs in the outfield, batting and bowling depts. Skipper Rashid Latif has done his job; and knows how to set the fielding, when to change the bowling spell. It’s upto the batsmens and bowlers to show what they really got.

It has now come down to the Final stage!
