Before 1970, Pakhtoon were dominating Army particularly officers rank. Then Punjab played the grate game by segregating Bangal the only hurdle in their hegemonic designs to dominate the entire country. After elimination of Bangalese and breaking the country into two, they all of sudden became the most talented nation of the world, who should be the only nation in the helm of affairs and remaining all are goofs. Presently more than 80% officers are from Punjab and that too central Punjab. As far their capabilities are concern then please see the statistics, their performance abroad is simply zero, they get rapid promotion only in Pujabistan, while outside they are no where.

I dont know why should a Punjabi say, I am Punjabi, he is just to say "I am Pakistani" as it is one and the same thing, Pakistan means Punjab and that too only from Pindi to Lahor and Multan and vice versa.

You announce industrial zones in the smaller provinces just to dilute the grievances of the smaller provinces and then withdraw all the privileges and divert all the investors to the most peaceful land, paradise of the world Punjab. Come on man, please talk some sense. See the Gadoon Amazai, the only worthwhile Industrial zone in Pakhtoonland has virtually become a grave yard. Similar is the case with LIEDA (Hub)

Mqm still wins in karachi hyderabad sukkur nawabshah and mirpurkhas.Third largest part of pakistan and second largest party of Sindh so respect their vote bank.IF you go to the city centre of karachi you will know about their vote bank accept the people's mandate.All the communities and ethnicities are accusing punjab of descrimination please dont prove that punjabis are like that.I have always said that the establishment which is predominatly punjabi with the help of local tribals and leaders whoever they are urdu speaking baloch pakhtoon have exploited the masses.

We alll know that punjabis are not like that so dont act that way so others will feel descriminated.

More than 80% of Pakistanis in US,UK or Gulf are Punjabis, there performance is definitely better than all other ethnicities. Pakhtoons have only earned us reputation of labourers, truck drivers and smugglers abroad or money launderers.

Hey Brother afrasiab why dont you agree that not all punjabis are responsible for that .Majority of punjabis are poor just like other ethnicities after all pakistan is a developing country.Blame the corrupt bureaucracy which is mainly punjabi but you should realise that a pakhtoon muhajir baloch sindhi in the bureaucreatic setup will be as corrupt as a punjabi.So blame the elite the rest have the same problems

In this troubled time, we can only resolve our diffrences with a good understanding of each other. If the boat is rocking then people in it should not jump on each other.

If Pakistan is strong, we all have dignity in the world.

No one will see us as a Punjabi, Pakhtton, Sindhi etc. to make fun of us, if Pakistan is weak or broken.

For all practical purposes, Pakistan has already transitioned to Punjabistan. This change started the moment Pakistan broke in to two countries in 1971. Thereafter hanging of ZAB and successive military take overs strengthened the view that Punjab had full authority and power to do what ever they liked. Perhaps if choice is given now, Sindh and Baluchistan will be the first ones to part away from present Pakistan, though actually it is Punjabistan.

Sad comments. There is a need for tolerance and opening up from Punjab side however.

Still, Pakistan needs people who can think positively and make it strong rather than thinking of dividing it. Anyway, thats not how majority think Farid as you painted the picture.

Small pieces can easily be eaten up by the neighbors. Specially if these pieces have not much resources to live on.

These provinces want provincial autonomy but not seperation sindhs bigest party is peoples party is doesnot want separation it is a mainstream party.mqm has already said time and again that the claimsmade in the name of party are baseless they are with pakistan.Muslim quaid e azam has its cheif minister and it is the party of quaid e azam.muslim league functional is the part headed by pir pagara and he is the cheif of hur tribe who played their role in the pakistan movement these parties are the main parties of sindh opposition or government.

As far as balochistan is concerned the situation is bit different nationalist parties have a vote bank but when asked are they loyal to pakistan they would not hestitate to say that they are true and patriotic pakistanis.

you have to know about the local politics and then comment about the situation

I was probably being sarcastic when I did and that if Pashtuns want autonomy and rights the only way is to seperate from Pakistan and form their own state…

I would love more than anyone else if all socially divisve elements can be eliminated from Pki society and we all have equal rights and all become one but something tells me that just aint possible, kind of sad really because it would be the best option for us all..

So oppresion is ok if they dont follow your ideology or beliefs.. So why is it not ok to opress the Poor Pathans if I dont agree with their cultural beliefs? Seems fair no? Perhaps we should allow the Pathans there equality but only with a catch..
It seems strange that your willing to accpet Ahmadis only if they give up their faith and yet you insist upon "equality" for Pathans without any catches, despite the many less then wholesome asspects of their society...
It hard for to sympathize with a people who advocate selective freedom... a lot of Pathans especially are vocal in their support of laws that opress minorites and women and yet they themselves claim to be oppressed? Why should I have any sympathy for such people?
I think oppresion is endemic in Pakistan, from the very roots of society, and oppresion just breeds more and more opression.. It will never end unles you tackle it all levels.
Why for example are you not speaking out for the minorities of Pakistan who are oppressed and by laws like the Blasphemy law? We all know what its really used for... Why not stand up for the rights of women who have no justice in our society, including in NWFP...

Mr. PP with respect, no one is really discriminating against Ahmadis. They are just being told to be clear and clean about their beliefs and stop trying to be who they are not.
They are minority and despite that they are given civil rights.

Thats not oppression by any stretch.

They are not stopped at the airtport and are being bodysearched.
They own businesses as anyone else.

They own land and other estates.
they are allowed to live whereever they want.
No one calls them 'Ahmadi' Kaafir on the street and make fun of them.
They are not being taped or whatever.
They are not being tortured...
