Above news shows that present government is thinking and doing the right thing for revival of national railways.
by adding more vehicles on road does not mean that the transportation will get better, it only shows that there is good chance of more kick-backs.

Not really adding. The fleet has depleted considerably since what it inherited in 1947. It needs immediate replacement for running of the system.

According to reports, the locomotives being imported from india have an average age of 40 years, and are being sold as refurbished, at an exorbitant price. Reeks of kickbacks, that too at the fag end of the government's tenure. Im sure they would be in a hurry to sign the deal.
Why not use that 350 crore to buy fuel for the trains that are actually running?

You can bring in 1,000 locomotives but as long as haram khor officers are there in the Railways, nothing much would change.

I have yet to understand above concocted logic. Pakistan ke kis shobay main haram khor officers including military, nahin hain? Why don't you shut them out? na ho been, na bajay bansuri.

So what's the big deal. Pakistan Railway had rehabilitated locomotives from Bombardier Canada and purchased knocked down condition from Japan. There is nothing wrong with running of trains with refurbished locomotives with warranty to run for X years of service.
Last GM locomotives were purchased from Germany where engine used was rehabilitated by Brazil and electrical equipment was made in Germany. Similarly Hitachi purchased in the 80's where refurbished Bombardier Canada ALCO engines were used and electrical equipment was built by Hitachi Japan. Due to global nature of business, railway engine is not made of from one country anymore due to price competition.
The cost of new locomotives is around $2.3 millions, i.e. Rs. 23 crores, according to above report the refurbished cost less than 1/3rd of the price of new locomotives i.e. 7 crores. Pakistan can save millions of $s of foreign exchange with the guarantee to run and maintain them for number of years.

Coming back to topic, again it will be in the interest of Pakistan to do such business to improve its economy.

Please have FBR prosecute all tax chors, including Imran Khan. It is GOVERNMENT’s job to prosecute all haram khors and tax chors. Oh wait, why would mega haram khors go after small-time haram khors? Sorry.
There is a little difference between a haram khor inducted in a political party v/s haram khors inducted in public organizations on public money. We all know how the PPP and ex-military officials have destroyed PIA. The employee-to-aircraft ratio is the highest in the world. Railways is the same. As long as the haram khors are there, give them 10,000 engines and they would sell them for scrap and leave the country in the first sight of trouble. That’s the history we know.

Jiyalas are not running the government departments and military. They are professionals, like Railway is also run by the professionals. The only difference is that Railway has been deliberately destroyed by the dictators. To revive it, the help from Indian Railway is very much needed.

There are many legal venues that DS Sukkur and HQ LHR can proceed against them in courts to get the possession of Railway land. However this DS Sukkur, I know him personally, he was the most stupid corrupt junior officer recruited during Zai’s regime. He is basically CSS qualified worked as ATO in Sukkur.
