Is there any political mileage in doing this service, than I guess political parties would be doing it.. But I guess they have other non issues which are more important to them... So far, Army and some Edhi type organizations are looking after them... Just wait till the dust settle...all will be running and claiming the best service provider to these IDPs
Why should it be "political" parties' responsibility? Its the government who should be providing all these facilities to the IDPs.
....Our leadership are calling for new elections without knowing that the country is in state of emergency, these terrorists can attack anywhere and anytime...but that is not their concern......

Those who have, are not 'leaders'. However, the current government is panicking and making leaders out of insignificant elements.

"Political parties" are in govt in provinces and in center, aren't they ? And I think I need not to tell you this as well that army's job is to clear the hardcore element, it is jobs of the political leadership to let these IDPs feel that the are part of society and not some aliens... That only political parties can achieve and it us only way to permanent peace...
ISLAMABAD: Over 100 ulema from various schools of thought on Sunday declared Zarb-e-Azb, the ongoing military operation against militants in North Waziristan, as jihad.
The meeting of ulema, which was organised by Sunni Ulema Board here on Sunday, in its decree (fatwa) referred Verse No.33 of Surah-e- Almaidah of the Holy Quran, which says:”Crushing of the attempts to disrupt peaceful atmosphere in a Muslim state is jihad.”
The decree said the nation was bound to support the ongoing operation in North Waziristan Agency and the people opposing the operation were rebels as per Islamic Shariah.
It added that the state had the right to deal rebels with an iron hand as militants had murdered hundreds of innocent people and targeted various schools, shrines, hospitals, and innocent people. Islam, it said, did not allow individual Jihad.

Then you should simply say that government must ensure that IDPs are taken care of instead of using the term "political parties" because it will then include parties that are not really in government.

My mistake, but i guess, parties not in govt also should take part in it... no govt alone can handle half million IDPs...
This operation was necessary and long overdue. We should have acted in 2007, days after the TTP was formed. Still, better late then never.
Insha-Allah, this op can break the back of the TTP and take away their centre of operation. However, intelligence ops will be needed in the cities to root out their cells.
But this is the first step in removing this menace from our beloved Pakistan.
It is ESSENTIAL to go after every extremist terrorist group. Some of them only pretend to befriend us for a while because they are busy causing terrorism at other places, like Afghanistan, Uzbekistan. But no one should be stupid enough to believe that they see Pakistan as their friend.
Their purpose is only to use Pakistani territory so as to cause fasaad in the name of Islam. Otherwise they see no difference between the state of Pakistan and others.
While takfiris caused terrorism at a few places in the country, they have been suppressed quite successfully overall. Because there were almost daily acts of terrorism in the country before this operation.

It is good thing that Raheel Sharif stopped this Taliban apologist PM of Raiwind and his family in opposing operation against their brothers. Now army should ensure that the gains are of not lost.
Every known Taliban apologist madrasah and mosque should be under permanent surveillance. This should include centers of JI, JUI, ASWJ, JuD, etc.
Supporting terrorism in any form, whether physically or financially, should be made a capital crime. Cases of their supporters should be referred to military courts because civilian courts are untrustworthy due to presence of Taliban supporters like Iftikhar Chaudhry and his ilk.
Every known Taliban apologist madrasah and mosque should be under permanent surveillance. This should include centers of JI, JUI, ASWJ, JuD, etc.
