SP, achcha..so it means that there was no one fighting alexander when he got there. The problem with you is that you seek validation in your existence from an iota of supposed greek or whatever blood. Where as the truth of the matter is that you are 99% percent from the Indian subcontinent and 1% scythian, mongol, greek.
ANd tghe hellenistic period referes to the golden era of greek civilization, it happened in greece not in the subcontinent FYI.
At this point you might want o go to the other thread and try to determine how gandharan (buddhist) civilization spread eastward considering Buddha was from UP/Bihar/Orissa region and just like ALexandar, the buddhists have migrated to that region and screwed a few of the locals. Get it now!!!
Matsui, I think your reaction to what she's saying is more interesting than her point in itself. I find it very intriguing that Indians get so offended when Pakistanis imply that we aren’t as ethnically homogeneous as some would have you believe.
Sweetpie has a valid point. We the Punjabis, Pathans/Balouch and Kashmiris do have ancestory to those groups. People like Matsui and other Hindustanis are simply ignorant and have inferiority complex when it comes to Pakistan, just like Bangalis. We are not South Asian nation. Simple as that.
^ I think you opened up a great thread, Panjdaria. I don’t feel, based on cultural aspects alone, that Pakistan belongs in South Asia because alot more than culture is involved when it comes to defining the identity of a cetain group of people, geography aside. In any event, thanks for sharing the facts.

care to post the extent of the mauryan empire right after the short lifespan of the greek expansion, the ashokan empire, the kushana empire, and the gupta empire? wonder where pakistan is on them.

Accept and respect the fact that the region of Pakistan (Indus Valley) was never part of present day region of India throughout its history, except for 100 years under the Mauryan rule, 522 years under Muslim rule, and 100 years under the British rule.

Maybe Pakistan should be on a continent all by itself?
some people simply live in a world of their own...
we watch, sing, talk, walk, dance indian movies/music.. yet we are not part of india or south asian.. we share sooo much of the same culture even though we may be in denial.. yet we are not south asian.. but from the west...

You dance sing and do all those Indian things. Maybe you should start offering salat/namaz. It will protect you from evil and munkar. Then you will see another culture that is Islamic. Sorry if i offended you.

^ no offence taken...
i already do offer salat and namaz.. :)
besides, if people could differentiate b/w cutlure and religion, that would be great

My signature is a very important ayat. True namaz takes a person away from all the wayhaat Indian films. Isn't Islam a complete way of life? Not pick and choose.
