Pakistan is NOT a South Asian Nation

I would like to bring a very important misconception that almost all Pakistanis have, i.e. being a South Asian country.

By all means (historical, cultural, traditional, ethnicall) Pakistan is not a south asian nation. Every time I see a profile of a Pakistani citizen, I see they have checked “Asian” as their ethnicity. I believe this is wrong. It is true that Pakistan is situated in Asia, but to put it under South Asian culture and ethnicity, that is incorrect. I can challenge any one to prove me wrong otherwise.

We must not use the term Asian or South Asian, when desribing ourself. If you live in US, the term “Asian” means orientals, like Chinese, Japanese etc… Americans do not consider you Asian, but rather Middle Eastern. Anyone who lives in US would agree with me.

I would stress that all Pakistanis must describe themself as either part of middle east or West Asian and ethnicity “Caucasian”. That is the true definition.

Thank You.

SO you had a choice to come on to the board and post your first ditty among the many topics that one can post and you came up with this siht? You still have time…delete it. Save your ever fleeting credence. albeit, it is one post old. :flower1:

BTW/welcome my darkie brother. :k:

Matsui, I thought you liked Arabs???? Now be a good baniya and go hug 'n kiss him. Ya habibi.

Re: Pakistan is NOT a South Asian Nation

Fool fool…Initially many Americans were confused regarding the South Asian term…but now the educated ones are aware of this too…it is only few street people who may take “Asian” term strictly for orientals…but then almost everyone knows Pakistanis/Indians are Asians…Where does "Caucasian"come from, while describing Pakistanis??

how could Pakistan be in west Asia if middle east itself is in the west of Pakistan!
how on earth any desi could be a "Caucasian" !!

Brown Caucasian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Queen must left some eggs here and there!

pakistan is one of the breakaway greek republics along with macedonia, sardinia, parathia and chapathia.

Pakistan is so strategically located that its two western provinces have more in common with middle east than with south asia. It may also be considered a part of Central Asia and also South Asia. What difference does it make. However what matters is that we form the Western piece of the large land mass from Morocco to Pakistan that comprises Muslims in majority. Anyway we do have a lot in common with Eastern neighbor also. Its not the REGION that makes the difference, but the RELIGION which we consider most and thus also created a separate Pakistan.

It is also a fact that by our names, people here do identify us as Middle Easterners.

These are the sites that identify us as part of Middle East

why you still member of saarc not arab league?

:hehe:

I had originally thought this thread was a joke posted by a multi-nicker until I read the reply by that well known Morrocan Mod, Mad Scientist :smack:

I think mentally Pakistanis are part of Middle East or want to be part of Arab world. I find many Pakistani women now dressed as Arab women with a Abaya in US.

Definitely Pakistanis have no choice in moving their land , but mentally and psychologically they are aping to be part of the Middle East. Given a choice Pakistanis would prefer to be called as a Middle Eastern country than part of Indian subcontinent.

Do you think arabs/middle eastern people see Pakistanis as their fellow arabs or are we viewed as south east asian? Sure, there are some Pakistanis who believe that we are middle eastern, but I don't think arabs see as their 'kind'.
