Pakistan is NOT a South Asian Nation

do you want
us to build a wall so no waters can flow ? you can always relocate to mid-east or turkey if you dont want be our neighbor.

So what is the final decision...

Pakistan is NOT a South Asian Nation or IS it??

I don't understand the indecision. How can you say it's NOT part of South Asia?

EVEN IF (and this is a big IF) one buys the argument that Pakistanis are descended from different people and are therefore ethnically different from other South Asians, how does that statement indicate that Pakistan is not part of South Asia?

Does that fact that many Americans are descended from Europeans make America part of Europe? Does that fact that many Brazilians are descended from the Portuguese make Brazil part of Portugal?

Continents are geographic divisions. An attempt to remove Pakistan from South Asia in order to indicate some sort of ethnic difference doesn't make sense to me.

I would like to bring a very important misconception that almost all Pakistanis have, i.e. being a South Asian country.

By all means (historical, cultural, traditional, ethnicall) Pakistan is not a south asian nation. Every time I see a profile of a Pakistani citizen, I see they have checked "Asian" as their ethnicity. I believe this is wrong. It is true that Pakistan is situated in Asia, but to put it under South Asian culture and ethnicity, that is incorrect. I can challenge any one to prove me wrong otherwise.

We must not use the term Asian or South Asian, when desribing ourself. If you live in US, the term "Asian" means orientals, like Chinese, Japanese etc... Americans do not consider you Asian, but rather Middle Eastern. Anyone who lives in US would agree with me.

I would stress that all Pakistanis must describe themself as either part of middle east or West Asian and ethnicity "Caucasian". That is the true definition.

Thank You.

That's the dumbest, most mental thing I've ever heard. Just because Americans are retarded enough to consider only oriental ppl Asian, doesn't meant we have to be doubly retarded and call ourselves something we're not. Pakistanis are not middle eastern. Pakistan is situated in the contient of Asia, and such are Asians. And even if you disagree with this, Pakistan is much closer to Asia than the Middle East, thus just by virtue of that, ppl should classify themselves as Asians.

Chalo bhai F & B. Ham log Pakistan ko laath maarke South Asia se nikaal daale.

It is a South Asian Nation and we are proud of it. However, it is also part of Central Asia and Middle East and we are also pround of that!

Just off the presses. Musharraf announced that Pakistan will promote and encourage screening of Turkish, Arabic and Irani movies all across Pakistan. Madrassah across the country ordered to teach the kids Farsi and Turkish. Janoon to tour Iran, and Turkey. Brace yourselves guppies. Raging debates to ensue in General and Lifestyles on the quality of Turkish movies. Nayyar Noor to release a CD in Farsi.

Already seeing this new-found change of direction from being a south asian country to a middle eastern country on GS Lifestyles forums. Large number of guppies debating Irani food, Turkish music and Arabic actors/actresses.

Musharraf to announce a reversal of his earlier stated plan to encourage cooperation between Indian and Pakistani film industries. In retaliation, Indian PM Manmohan Singh announced Adnan Sami's deportation back to Pakistan.

Long live a middle eastern Pakistan!

:rotfl: Jiyo Mere laal !!!

Oldexam has just missed the point. Middle East is also in Asia. Asia is not just India, China etc.., but also entire Middle East too.

Just like Islamabad said, we are somewhat part of South Asia, but at the same time we are also part of ME and central Asia.

Does that mean India is part of the middle east too? Having been part of the Mughal empire surely that makes them Turkish SOB's?

So you admit that the topic of your thread was wrong. “Pakistan is not a South Asian nation”. It is! 8 pages to realize this fact.:smack2:

mitti paow on this thread now, every one knows we're not like those brown, short, big nippled dravidians.

^ ok lilytit :hehe:

Sounds like case of confused Identity.

No I am not confused. I am very clear as to what Pakistan’s racial and geographic identity is. It seems to me that lot of you did not or do not understand the meaning of Asia and ME. Just like a white/blonde person may not neccesary be from Europe, he could be from ME or central Asia. Think about the central theme of my thread. We stand separate and tall (because of our racial and geographic differences) among the nations of SAARC. Instead of giving me baseless and non factual arguments, think again about Pakistans geographic identity. Thanks.

Just look at a map and you'll see that Pakistan is on the crossroads between South Asia, Central Asia and Middle East not like crappy smelly India, we are kind of outlandish to be just be part of South Asia or visit Pakistan and see the different cultures and the Pakistani culture itself composed of elements from all these and other influences, this is Pakistans idenity.

Confused ham nahein tum ho in the religious sense and you think it's a good thing, idiots.
