I would def. go with shirley..she did my mehndi, shadi, and valima and I loved all three days...as far as the light lipsick bit goes...you have to tell he how you want it. For me, I totally stayed away from dark shades and hence my lips were very light...that's how I liked it...you have to tell her what you want. I had an amazing experience with shirley...she was very co-operative and listened to what I wanted. At the valima, I couldn't make it to her place for a reason...and she actually came from Markham all the way to missi to do my make up and everyone loved it!

Regardless of who you choose, make sure to do a trial BEFORE the wedding so you can tell the artist exactly what you want her to do, and not to do, for the big day.

Well i would suggest that instead of making yourself confuse with everyone's opinion, its better that you call each makeup artist and talk with them, this way you will see with which artist actually gives time in conversation and how professional they are.
you should visit their website, and then visit their studio and see their portfolio or get a consultation even before the trial. When you develop a comfort level with any particular artist then you may decide for the trial.
you can not just make decision on a certain atist just based on 4-5 people experience. As for everyone their taste and choice are different.

That's true, she (Shirley) is not the top makeup artist that a person would go "Wow" with the makeup that she has done, also people do say that she is so so, so get a trail done first that will be best advice to get.

Angell's isn't she new in town???????never heard of her before, so no idea about her work, Shirley she too busy, I had my makeup/hair done from Kathleen for both days, check out her site www.kathleenhairstudio.com. I was happy with her (but of course everyone has their own choice) just make sure who ever you go with get a trail done. (I liked her maybe you may not, also maybe other will like her).
Rather getting confuse with so many opinion its best you judge yourself as to what you want, I know some people will try different people for different days, i.e one makeup artist for wedding and another for valima and so forth.

Angell's is she the new one in town, checked out her site, looks like most of them are the models done for the photo-shoots for the magazine other then the wedding pics, all shoots are photoshopped, so they will look good, anyway I think she still have a long way to go, i.e being new anyway good luck to her

I think its better to look at the pics at their studio instead of here as photography makes a lot of difference, moreover they might have before and after ones which will really help you make your decision.
I went to my friend's place who got her makeup from Angell.....Her pics looked very beautiful. The face looked glowy and dewy, not cakey at all. As my friend has little acne scars skin, i was surprised to see how her skin was sooooo fresh looking.
....she said she got airbrush makeup done from Angell....
i think that what made the difference.
oh.....i went with my friend to Angell's studio, there were tones of pics there, models as well as real brides.
Luckily i got a chance to see a bride there at her studio, she looked beautiful, even if she is new here in toronto but she has lots of experience from pakistan, i think she has a different touch than the other old makeup artist.
Well...at the end everyone has their own choice.

Shirley Wu in my opinion for make-up for sure....shes amamzing! did both my sisters wedding/mendhi and my engagement ....everyone we've met has only good things to say! ill post a pic soon so u can see :)
hey sara, her makeup wasn't light it was like a medium pink that matched hotpink but i remember her lipstick colour wasn't good and the people around there noticed not just me :S
I think it may have been one of the weddings I attended recently where Shirley did the makeup. It really depends on what the bride asks for as well.
