You can't go wrong with Dimple Shah and shirley wu.
I dont' know about the rest since i've never experienced them..but if the above two aren't available, then u can try those out. That's how i found dimple :p

sara who do you think is better dimple or shirley wu, some people on this forum have said dimple is so-so and there are mixed reviews with shirley.......

Well I only haev experience with dimple and I love love loved her mehndi. i wouldn’t go for any body else with that. i was also very satisfied with the makeup she did on me so i will definitely recommend her. But Shirley is also very good. Honestly i think ur in safe hands with both of them.
Originally I had wanted to go for SHirley but she wasn’t available on that date, and then I tried Xpressions…and they were out of hte country for the whole month…and sila just never responded back to me 
so i found dimple by accident..
Zebi also has some good reviews, and i’ve never heard of jaannel studios and i dont know hwo good kathleens and angell’s work is since nobody here has really had much experience with them.

I'd recommend Shirley! She got me ready for my baraat and valima and the makeup and hair was awesome!! pic posted on the "bridal Pics" & "A Bride from Mars" threads.. Goodluck btw!!!

can anyone offer any insights ?
I went to a wedding about a month ago and I just found out the makeup was done by Shirley; I just remember that when I saw the girl I didn't think she had a top makeup artist. Her lipstick was so light every one was complaining and the lips were out of shape in my opinion (like clown lips), but at the same time, I thought the girl did look better than when she does without makeup, but at the same time, I thought the makeup was so so, not the wow that some people say. But, I would still like more feedback!

^ maybe it's what hse had wanted, very light makeup... thats one of hte challenges of a makeup artist, if they do what they think will look good on her but she might not like it...the bride might not like it... but if she does entirely wat the bride wants, then other people might not like it and ppl will know that person did it and not go to them because they dint like wat the bride wore...
so best thing to do is to not judge by the brides, but actually get a trial urself..

I really like your barat makeup and I think you look amazing :)
but im really starting to feel shirley is a hit or miss :S

hey sara, her makeup wasn't light it was like a medium pink that matched hotpink but i remember her lipstick colour wasn't good and the people around there noticed not just me :S

Dimple, shirley and elementsob.. My bridal makeup from dimple, i've seen brides done by shirley and they looked great, and i had party makeup done from elements..=D

That's true, she (Shirley) is not the top makeup artist that a person would go "Wow" with the makeup that she has done, also people do say that she is so so, so get a trail done first that will be best advice to get.

Just make sure when-ever you are getting married and who ever you get to dresses you up, do not get any opinion from too many people as too many ideas from other will spoil your day, as it will confuse you as well as the person who's chair you are sitting on, this has to be between you and your makeup artist or just a sister/close friend who you trust ohter than that just llike a saying "TOO MANY COOK SPOIL THE FOOD" So make sure that there should not be too many ideas around you while you are getting ready.

well put mirzajamila! The more people you ask, the more different opinions you get, and it will only confuse you more! It's your wedding day, make sure that YOU are happy. It's impossible to please every single person, so just concentrate on pleasing yourself. Once you are satisfied with how you look, and it's how you pictured yourself, then nothing else matters!
