Although I have zero confidence in anything that is managed by Pakistanis, be it cricket or government and I have zero expectations as well. I still think they did well to bounce back from 51-5 to 194-7 and then to 223.
Given that they are playing a weak opposition, I think Pakistan can come back in the Test. They have to put in a lot of effort. They also can not afford poor fielding.

It was bound to happen. Our bowlers have saved us in last 2 test. Batsmen have to take responsibility someday. This was a pathetic performance but I think bhanja deserves the credit. He did well to get Pakistan to a reasonable score. I see a declaration sometime on the 3rd day, NZ batsmen won’t gift their wickets this time. But I hope bowlers can save us again. But looking at the wicket, I’m not holding my breath.

NZ commentators were just going crazy. They were talking about Prime Minister calling Obrian and ask him to stay till Bangladesh and Aus tour is over. :D

It's gonna be a long day. We have a big snow storm in WNY so I'm pretty much stuck so I'll be watching it, I guess.

c'mon man - don't put Misbah in the same category as Butt and Farhat... Misbah is a pretty decent fielder otherwise... his dropped catch hurt more in the last match within the context of all the other dropped catches.

I would kill to see Pakistan compete with Australia in Australia for a change.
But unfortunately our current batting is so blo**y inadequate and inconsistent that I cannot realistically see this side taking games into a 4th or 5th day. During the last two away series in Australia, most of our tests finished inside 3-3.5 days. That is how pathetic our batting is. I mean when was the last time Pakistan scored 400+ in an innings in Australia. I cannot think of any off the top of my head. Most of our current batters just do not have the necessary test temperament, discipline or patience required to build an innings/partnerships and collectively post a decent total. To their immense credit the Windies team did just that in Australia and drew the second test
Fielding = is even worse than what it used to be
Bowling = is decent rather than menacing
Batting = the less said the better

how many slip chances are taken this way... this is over expectation from Pakistani fielding..
