Ehsan bhai, you are right that we should give these batsmen some time. Having said that, openers didn’t really do a marvellous job in tests either. Yasir played a gem inning of 80 but he was ONE DOWN, Imran Farhat’s scores, 20, 20, 14, 24 are not something to be proud of.
Our batting had to rely on tail many a times. They need to perform better. I am not asking for any axes to be out yet. But 3 all rounders is too much. We need to keep Shabbir and Sami, so one of all rounders Razzaq or Mehmood has to be sacrificed to bring Shoaib Akhtar in the side… unless you think he should stay on sidelines

.... I guess what I am trying to say is that Pak strategists should look beyond Akhtar simply because they can afford to.

For that they'll have to give chances to upcoming bowlers like Rauf, Irshad, Khalil, Yasir... but I guess that'll be done after India's visit :)
pakistan!..depends on its fast ballers!..agar shabi fit rahta hay..2 pakistan will win..bake..opeing stand..and inzi ki perfomans..pay b pakistan depend karta hay
wasy i wish hum india ko asi defeat day kay…wo kabi bhool na sakay

Younis is a much better and confident player than Elahi. At least Younis is technically right. Seeing Elahi bat makes me wanna puke. He walks across the stumps and gets out LBW a lot because of this. We need someone in the middle order who can play confidently and score quickly and as of now, Younis is the best candidate. Elahi always seems to be nervous and plays extremely slow. Elahi may be satistically better, but as a confident batsmen and fielder, Younis is definetly better.

The Game Responds:
*Anyone who has started worshipping Saleem Elahi for making 20 runs in the previous match should read the above; Yaasir made my job easier. People, That Is All.*
Shoaib missed the first Test with hamstring and calf injuries
Shoaib Akhtar is doubtful for the second one-day international against New Zealand in Queenstown on Wednesday as he still has a a groin problem.
The injury caused the paceman to miss Saturday’s first one-dayer, which Pakistan lost by four wickets.
Pakistan manager Haroon Rashid said Shoaib would have an ultrasound scan on Tuesday to assess the injury.
“Once we get the doctor’s opinion we will have a better idea about what to do,” said Rashid.
“It’s part and parcel of sporting life, but life will have to go on. You miss a key player in your side but it’s not the first time he would be missing.”
Shoaib also missed the drawn first Test last month because of calf and hamstring strains.
But he returned for the second Test to wreak havoc with 11-78 as Pakistan won the match and the series.
Shoaib had a groin injury which was caused by being hit in his groin while batting in the nets.
There is nothing really a human can do about it.
Its not his fault and he shouldn’t be blamed for the injury.

Yasir also failed to point that Younis Khan has failed miserably when he has been given chance.
Off his 80 ODI appearances, he has possibly played 2 or 3 match winning knocks for the country and is a huge failiure.
Elahi on the other hand has shown huge promises in his short career, and has already scored 4 centuries in just 36 matches and Younis Khan has not even come close.
*Amusing! You, little boy, should probably watch how he bats first, and then come back and join this thread. He played his first match in freakin' 1995, and he still hasn't learned to bat on seaming pitches. Just because he scored some centuries on subcontinental pitches doesn't mean anything. Anyone with a cricketing sense and who actually watched the match(unlike some sheep in this thread) would admit that the guy looked like a fool in the first match on a pitch where the ball was seaming around. Don't worship him just because he scored 20 freakin' runs in the first match :rotfl:. People, That Is All.*
