Pakistan has agreed to a 48-hour timetable set by India and the US to formulate a plan to act against Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) and to
arrest at least three Pakistanis who Indian authorities say are linked to the Mumbai terrorist assaults, the Washington Post reported citing a high-ranking Pakistani official.
The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of diplomatic sensitivities, said India had also asked Pakistan to arrest and hand over LeT commander Zaki ur-Rehman Lakhwi and the former director of Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Hamid Gul, in connection with the investigation, the Post said on Saturday.
Re: Pak agrees to 48-hour timetable for action against LeT
i dont believe it either.
their might be an agreement but not the one u mentioned. Pakistan would "never" hand over an ex military high ranking person, no chance.
and zardari said on Larry KIng that if india provides proofs then we will catch the ppl responsible and trial them in our own courts and take action against em.
Re: Pak agrees to 48-hour timetable for action against LeT
I believe Pakistan should arrest them, investigate them (alone, not shared) and then act accordingly. No handover until India agrees for joint investigation.

India can dream on, pakistan's not handing them over,

We wish that it be a "trade" but seeing how things are unfolding and how US is pressurising Pakistan, how Pakistan have given up their people in past it wouldn't be surprising if it is only one-way.

Yeah but our "Great President have said that India is not a threat to Pakistan :)"

Atleast a slight change in attitude. The 'NO NO NO NO THIS IS DONE BY HINDOO ZIONIST ORGANIZED BY RAW' was getting pretty pathetic.

I have always maintained, India must provide proof, if Pakistanis are involved then they must be arrested and prosecuted. I still don't see Pakistani govt accepting any 'evidence' though. I believe India should share the terrorist with Pakistan and let them extract more info so they can get DNA tests and compare them against the alleged families. Once that is done then I don't think there will be much "denial".
Why is our gov't full of chicken sh*ts. Why take action. Give evidence and then take action against people responsible. If they started randomly taking out people because Daddy USA says it then it will cause more suicide bombings more problems in Pakistan. We are still paying the price for Jamia Hafsa. This is gonna be helllaaa stupid. This Pee Pee Pee gov't, this stupid "ehsaad-e-kamtari" idiots in the pariliament, that damn Zardari interview was stupid. Full of uneducated jack arses.
Re: Pak agrees to 48-hour timetable for action against LeT
I have 100% confidence that no Pakistani will be handed over to India. Not now, not ever.
Also Dawood Ibrahim or other Indians allegedly here will also not be handed over because if they are here, then they can spill too many secrets. If they are here, they may be killed at best, to meet some demands.
However, if any of Mumbai suspects are indeed in Pakistan, there may be some compromise and they could be kept in Pakistan and FBI or Scotland Yard may be allowed to talk to them. After all, we allowed CIA to interrogate A.Q.Khan secretly, so why not for low level jihadis?
Remember Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
It would be too much for Pakistanies to hand over the suspects to India, but they would probably hand them over to a third country mostly UK or US.
Re: Pak agrees to 48-hour timetable for action against LeT
Indian media ney ziyada hi lambi chor di.
Hamid Gul will not be handed over not even to US. Has any country ever handed over its intelligence chief? And that too to India, ta key sarey secrets apney haath sey India ko de deiN.

Government Rejects US Paper Claim
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq Sunday rejected the claim of a US newspaper that Pakistani citizens allegedly involved in Mumbai blasts would be handed over to India within 48 hours.
Talking to a French news agency, he said America and New Delhi has not given any 48 hour’s ultimatum to Pakistan to arrest the people wanted to India adding all reports pertaining to the issue are untrue.
Meanwhile, talking to Indian newsagency, President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said Pakistan is not bound to reply all provoking statements or comments issued by India.
