Sarah stood there with the cake box in her hand, what the hell was she doing here she asked herself again. She heard a voice asking where she was. She looked at him and recognized Kabeer. he didn’t looked that good as in pictures. Damn her friend could get a better one, he was just a nerd type acting like a macho. He walked her direction, she checked him out from top to bottom. “hey I had to give to give u this from Aarzoo” Sarah gave him the cake. “Thank her very much for the cake” he said, he wanted to know if Aarzoo was here to, “no she’s at home, I was in this area so she wanted me to give you this” they said goodbye and Sarah went outside, she asked Aarzoo if she could hear everything clear, and Aarzoo did.
Back in the car Sanam looked at Aarzoo and told her what she thought, “listen up girl, if he acts weird, like he thinks he is so handsome, or he acts possessive, get angry at you or he wants explanations about anything that you don’t want to give, and he gets annoyed let him go then”. He ain’t worth you then. Aarzoo asked what Sarah made say that.
Aarzoo drove Sarah back home, “I will tell you next Saturday” she said. Aarzoo drove back home, Her phone rang, it was Kabeer. He thanked her for her cake, she asked him if he had it with him or throw it away, “are you crazy?” why should I throw it away?” Aarzoo laughed. He asked her to help making an excuse for his mother. “just say you wanted to eat cake” Aarzoo said, Kabeer laughed, his mother wouldn’t believe that. “u know what I will put it in the fridge and ask my mother who bought cake” Owh she will believe that! Aarzoo lauhed out really loud, Just tell her that your personal coach told you to eat it! He wasn’t sure about it, but he would try it. Aarzoo was already home, he asked her the same question what thime she would be online, she replied after namaz.
Every one believed him when he told the story of the coach, then his mother came and saw the cake and asked where it came from, Kabeer didn’t answered directly, his sister did “Kabeer’s coach told him to eat it” his mother looked at him, and said a Punjabi dialogue it meant that she knows him better then anyone, he explained to Aarzoo. He asked her how she could arrange everything so soon. “you wanted cake right?” she asked him, he replied with yes, “I just made a few calls” she couldn’t tell him that she was there!
After msn they started to text each other, He was the first one who wished her happy birthday, exactly 00.00 he texted her, usually he always slept that time cause he had to wake up early for work. She replied him back immediately and thanked him, he asked her again what the plans would be, while answering his message she had to open the front door, her cousins were standing outside, all off them came to wish her happy birthday. She replied him when they all went back to home, it was 2am already. The first thing she saw in the morning was his message, he told her to wake up for namaz, and asked her why she was awaken at 2am. When she explained he laughed and told her cousins were insane doing something like this. Her 20 birthday was the best ever. In the morning her brothers and sisters gave her presents, wished her luck, she got a new car from her dad, her mum gave her a new cupboard. She went out to school, and afterwards she went out with friends. Back home she texted Kabeer and asked him what he was doing. He replied immediately, he was tired and bored, he asked her how her birthday was. She told him that she was to tired to think normally, her friends and cousins made her crazy, she had enough. “well now its my turn” he said.

A boy added her on myspace, she told him what he said in the invitation, “change your diplay picture now” she laughed and said that people only saw her eyes on her display and if some one added him they saw his whole face, so he had to change first, then she will. Aarzoo thought that he would say something like okay let it be, but he did change his picture, and so did she, she had a bollywood avatar instead of her eyes, and he had removed his picture.
They had a kind of a fight, he called her churail again, she told him to search one. It was again the same thing. This time she told him that she would get a new number, he got angry. U don’t need to take a new number, I will delete your number if that makes you happy. This was exact the thing Sanam warned her for. Sanam told her not to make jokes of changing numbers, he would mind it, and maybe he would started to think that she dislikes him or had enough of him. “you don’t need to delete my number” after this message she slept. The first thing she saw in the morning was again his message, “I don’t need to delete you number, u know that I can’t do that, just wake up and read namaz” she took a deep breath, replied with some thing right from her heart “ I never been so free with a guy, how could I know that u would mind? But I’m really getting a new number in a week orso”
She came back from gym and started her laptop when she got his message, he asked her what she was doing. She replied with starting my laptop, are u coming online? he wouldn’t be online that night, she gave him a message on his myspace. ( A forward message) he sent her a message “I’ve read your message on myspace” Aarzoo got pissed, he told her that he wouldn’t be online, but he did, she replied with “ You told me that you wouldn’t be online tonight? Okay I know enough” he didn’t reply, before she wanted to sleep she messaged him that she didn’t know what his plans where, but she was going to sleep. Next morning his message woke her up, “I was just checking my messages, wasn’t online for long, the credit on my other number is finished I gonna buy it today, what time will u be up?” she replied on the number where she ot the message from, but that number wasn’t active, he had his other sim in the phone, she decided to send a message to that one. That she was free and he can wake her up when he thought that she had slept enough. He called her at 11.30 she was at the gym at that time so she couldn’t pick up the phone, she texted him, maybe he had bought credit already. She didn’t got a reply. She decided to let it be, and call him when she would go to work.
When she called him, she thought he acted a bit strange, she asked him how work was, she knew that his office was moving to another location, work was okay he said he was just out to eat something, he asked what she was doing, she told him that she was on her way to work and told him to eat they would talk soon. When she hang up she had a creepy feeling. When she was at work she messaged him again, but didn’t got a reply, not even from his business number! She wanted to know what was wrong, but no one could tell her that. He called her the next day, she was in class and couldn’t pick up the phone, so she called him back after he class, he didn’t pick up. That made her more angry. She wanted to text him but Sanam didn’t let her. It’s Friday don’t let your mood get spoiled because of a boy!
Like every Friday after school the girls went out to eat and relax. They talked a little bit bout everything. And finally went to home. Whyle waiting on the train, Aarzoo’s phone rang. It was Kabeer. they spoke a while, she asked him why he didn’t pick up the phone and why he was free so early. He was in meeting, and was free early. She asked him what the hell was wrong with his other number, he ignored it, so she thought by herself, I know enough about you. She reached her front door and told him that she was home now, so she had to hang up. He asked her what her plans where, she replied “ I’m going to the gym and then I will see further”

After training her cousin came with her, they had the normal ladies movie night. Aarzoo asked her mother for food. The girls sat in the kitchen on the sofa waiting for there food and watching tv, suddenly Aarzoo got a message, she thought it was her friend and let the phone on the end of the table, after dinner both went upstairs to Aarzoo’s room and Aarzoo realized that she had a message, she opened it and saw that it was Kabeer who told her that he was active again with texting. He asked what she was doing and told her that he was done with gym. Shr replied him that she was watching movie with her cousin, and asked him what his plans where, he was going out with friends, and wanted her to stay awake with him. She asked him why this time, if he had a challenge she would stay awake else she would go asleep. He told her to final a task, so she did. If he lost he would bungee jump, and if she lost she would. He agreed with it. Again that night she was awake with him. And the next day again, but the difference was that he didn’t go out he was at home, lying in bed. She asked him why he did this with her, why he staid up with her, and did he ever done these kind of things before with someone, the same goes for the phone calls, did he ever called some one else so much and so often? He replied “cause the rules are when u are up I’m up, and I’enever done this before, same fore the phone calls, he went from home to office and form office back home, he never called some one so often as her” she didn’t know if it was the truth or not, but her heart wanted it to be. She wanted to believe him at that moment. And she did…
Maybe she was to happy, cause every good thing ends somewhere, and it did. Maybe it not ended really but he didn’t called her anymore. The last message was from her on Monday night, and he didn’t send her a reply back. She didn’t send him another message, why she had to text him always and why he couldn’t send something by him? she asked Sanam advice but Sanam didn’t help much, she was busy with her own problems so Aarzoo asked it her colleague/friend Sarah. Sarah told her to let him go. “ I told you before he doesn’t deserve you” you’re to good for him, she gave Aarzoo her own example, Sarah was into a boy, but that boy didn’t answered her phones and messages so she let him go. “don’t waste your time on such a looser” she told her friend. Aarzoo didn’t message him and didn’t call him.
Back on work every one knew that Aarzoo was “into” Kabeer, only because she was with her phone all the time, her manager asked how Kabeer was. “don’t know” Aarzoo replied. She wanted to call him so badly. It was almost two weeks and she didn’t spoke him, and it was already a week that he replied her message. Sarah knew that it was hard for Aarzoo she said “Aarzoo make an call to him and after that I want you to act normal” Aarzoo called him but got voicemail, she hang up the phone, at least that what she thought, she put the phone in the draw and asked Sarah for her weekend plans, “I probably be out with friends, what bout you” she asked Aarzoo, Aarzoo told her that her friends wanted to go out and they asked her to, the dress code for the party was “white if your single and looking for some one, red if you already have a partner and out for fun, and green if you have a partner and out for adventure” Sarah replied just go and where white, Aarzoo looked Sarah’s way and asked her if she was ill. “why not girl just wear whit, you don’t have a boy right” Aarzoo replied with “but I ain’t searching for some one and who says I will go?” she reached for her phone and saw that she still was on the phone with Kabeer. She quickly hang up and ask herself how many was recorded in the voicemail. Well she would find out when he called. If he called.
And he did call, he asked her where she was, what she was doing and finally what the weekend plans where, Aarzoo asked if he got voicemail or not “ voicemail? What voicemail?” he replied. Aarzoo told him what her colleagues asked and what they discussed. Suddenly he said “I call u back later!” He was pissed he didn’t called her back. Back home she went online, and saw him online to, normally he started to talk to her, this time she tried, he ignored her, she logged on her myspace profile, and that he had changed his display picture on myspace. She wanted to know what the hell happened with him and why he acted like this. Maybe because of the voicemail, but he knew that she never went out in nights, she had elder brothers and a dad plus she was a Pakistani girl, even if she was western in way she was, she still was a Pakistani.

She left him for what he was that night, but saw that he added 3 girls on myspace, her heart went wild, why is he doing this she asked herself. She decided to call him the next day, and she did. He didn’t answer, she called him a few hours later, this time he did answer but told her that he would call her back. She knew that he wouldn’t call her back. And that gave her a inner rest. She was totally calm as like a storm passed through and left only a calm breeze behind.
Everyone told her not to worry about him. her manager was like a friend to her, every colleague was a friend of hers, her cousins, really all of them told her to let him for what he was, he was just a looser who didn’t deserved her. “I told you Aarzoo if that boy shows some attitude then let him go” Sarah tried to help Aarzoo as much as she could. And finally a week later Aarzoo was over it. When ever she went online, he was online to, if his status as online and he saw her coming, he immediately changed his status “away” as he was scared that she would try to talk to him. she really didn’t.
She had exams and concentrated totally on school, the only thing that mattered for her where her grades and her study. She was done with exams on Friday and went home early. She turned her computer on and went online, he was online to with his status “away” as soon she went online he changed his status to “online” Aarzoo ignored him and spoke with her cousin and went to the gym. In the night when she went online he talked with her, he wanted an explanation from her, why did she planned to go out? “How long do you know me now? Do you really think that I would go out? It was just my colleague asking me what I wanted to do” he believed her. She asked him why he had changed his display picture on myspace “that was a reaction on your action” she didn’t understood what he meant, and asked him what he meant, he told her that he did it because of the voicemail message.
It was over, she had her answer finally, she knew why he acted strange only because a voicemail, she called Sarah and told her everything “ hunny you got your answer now, just concentrate on something else and let him go” Sarah just hated Kabeer now so much that she really wanted him to get out of her friends life. Sarah asked what time Aarzoo would leave for work, and asked her for a lift. At work Aarzoo was so active, everyone was happy for her, when they where ready to go home, Aarzoo got a message, she gave it to Sarah and asked her to read it, it was Kabeer! Sarah looked Aarzoo’s way, did you sent him a message? Aarzoo didn’t know what her friend was talking about. It’s Kabeer! “I didn’t send him a message” Aarzoo said. She didn’t replied immediately, she waited till she was home. He started to text, she acted normal like nothing happened till she sent him a message and didn’t got the delivery notification, he was using his other number, a number he usually never used. She got the notification at the end of the day. Aarzoo didn’t asked him anything, but deep inside she knew that there was maybe another girl, maybe some one who hadn’t the number she had.
Aarzoo went of for holiday’s. She told him that she would be away, he asked her how many days she would be gone, and if her phone would stay on. She told him that she would be gone for a week and her phone would stay on. He told her to let him know when her flight would land, and told her to take good care of herself. She didn’t mind telling him when she arrived, she didn’t expected a answer from him, deep inside she knew that everything with Kabeer wouldn’t be the same again. But maybe they could stay friends? It was 0230 am and her phoned woke her up, it was Kabeer who texted her “I’m just home from town it wasn’t that much fun what are you doing? I’m tired worked to hard”. She replied him next morning. The same day she would go back home.
Back home she automatically started her laptop, and saw a offline message of Kabeer, she replied him, knew that he would read it when he would be online, and went off. In night when she turned her computer on she saw that he answered her message 5 minutes ago, he was keeping his status offline, she replied him and waited for his answer he didn’t answer, she went online to talk with some friends and finally set her status offline and spoke to a few friends. Suddenly kabeer replied. When Aarzoo replied him back immediately it was like he was in shock, he asked her what she was doing online and why her status was offline. “owh u damn wished that I was offline for real” Aarzoo said. Kabeer replied “of course not” but a few minutes later he said, I have to bring some guests back home, ill be back in a few minutes. She said okay and didn’t really waited on him, she was busy with a discussion with a good friend, when came back he went just online, and was a behaved strange, he was short with answering and said the most annoying things, Aarzoo didn’t know what was wrong with him, and when she asked what time he would go sleep he asked her what time she wanted. She gave a time and he agreed “ so u really listen to me” aarzoo said, “yes I do and u ain’t” he replied, she asked him when she didn’t. he told her to let rest everything from the past. She didn’t know what he meant. Finally he said its time should we say goodbye? Aarzoo didn’t know what he meant this time. Goodbye as in for always? Or goodbye for now?

My role in this story is the cousin of Aarzoo, we both are together since childhood, ( best friends from primary school) I saw everything happening before my eyes. because we both shared so much i knew everything about her. I adviced her the same thing as all her other friends to let the boy go. Sarah , also a friend of mine now, told her immediately when she saw Kabeer that he wasn't the right person for her. But okay if she listened to her heart instead her brains what could i do, maybe some one of you can tell a way to open her eyes!

It seems more like a relationship between two young teenagers. No love from either side. The guy is afraid of his mom to bring up the reference of aarzo. What a child!
