Sanam got a bit worried about her friend, she saw Aarzoo’s behaviour, she was so long on the phone with him, didn’t mind what other people thought about it, she was so focused with Kabeer that Sanam knew her friend was really serious with him and she prayed to god that everything would be okay with both of them. Sanam also knew that her friend hated a relation tag so she didn’t worried a lot about it.
It was 3 months further and everything was the same except a few things, Kabeer acted a bit possessive, if he got voicemail he wanted to know why it was, it only happened when her mobile signal felt out. If she was shopping he wanted to know where she was, how long it would take, and what the plans where after shopping. Aarzoo didn’t mind telling him what where and how, but Sanam got worried, it was like they had a relationship. She warned Aarzoo not to et to much involved with Kabeer. and told her a story about a colleague with the same horoscope as Kabeer. Sanam didn’t wanted to scare her friend but just to warn for the possessiveness and mood springs of him. Kabeer sometimes got angry if one of the friends form my space left her a scratch, he didn’t replied normal, didn’t replied her messages the way he usually did. And that was the thing Sanam warned her for.
It was Saturday and Aarzoo was at work. Kabeer called her and asked what the plans where for after work. After work she was always with her nieces. And he said he would go out. Her heart made a weird jump. Why would he go out? She didn’t asked much and hang up quickly with excuse to work. He messaged her to ask her play a game in the night. They had to text each other in 15 minutes, if one of them got late he/she had to do a task. She asked him what the task was, and he said she could decide. she was in a funny mood and replied, the one who looses has to write the name of the other in his/her msn nick! He agreed. Aarzoo almost felt form her chair. How could he agree and how can he text her when he was out!
The game started at 00.00 she asked him where he was and how the music was. He really replied in 5 minutes instead of 15. He was with 10 people in total, she made a joke “why don’t u go and enjoy your night find a girl flirt a bit and dance with her” his reply made her smile, he didn’t need to search he said, he had her. Aarzoo’s heart made a jump. Suddenly he didn’t messaged her in 15 minutes. He lost and admitted it, he was driving but he wrote her name in his msn nick. All his friends knew/thought that there was something between them. But both, Kabeer and Aarzoo, enjoyed it.
Kabeer called her every day but not today. May be he’s sleeping she thought, she messaged him, but didn’t got a reply. She decided to call him at 10am. A girl picked up the phone. Aarzoo didn’t knew what to do. hang up or not? she couldn’t hang up she cold with her number, so she asked who it was on the other side, it was some his sister, told her that Kabeer forgot his phone at home, Aarzoo thanked his sister and hang up quickly. She called kabeers second number, his sister picked up the phone again and laughed, he forgot this one two she said!! Aarzoo didn’t know what to do. she mailed Kabeer and told him what happened. Kabeer called her an hour later, and she told it him in person. He laughed, he said: ammi was waiting for me I just went up the stairs and she was standing there, she wanted to talk to me. He asked Aarzoo to tell exactly what happened, Aarzoo told him every single detail, Kabeer laughed again and told her not to worry. But she knew he was screwed, he had to give an explanation to his mum and what would that be.
Aarzoo called Sanam and told her about it, her friend told her not to worry she couldn’t do anything about it, she didn’t knew that he forgat his phones at home! Aarzoo thought maybe he won’t call her so much anymore but that wasn’t true. he called her when he went home and asked her as a joke to make dua, both laughed loud. He didn’t wanted to go home he said, Aarzoo asked him what time he would be on msn, and wished him luck and asked him to let her know what happened. When he came on msn, she immediately asked him what his mother said.
His mum was waiting when he stepped outside the car. “Kabeer I want to talk to you, tell me who that girl was that called and how does she had your number” It’s my colleague he made up, she was ill so she called me to give her information for the meetings. His mother was looking at him, he suddenly smiled. That was enough for her to know that her son was lying. “Kabeer why do you read namaz? You have contact with a girl, not just a colleague! I’m booking tickets to Pakistan now, u will get married this summer, same time as your nephew” Kabeer didn’t looked her way….

He kept smiling and finally his mother had also a smile on her face. It wasn’t over yet.
That same week Aarzoo had a meeting in night at work, he went to the gym and called her before her meeting started to ask when the meeting would be over, when she asked him why he replied “then I know what time I should be outside the gym” . he called her after the meeting and when she asked him where he was he said I’m downstairs parked waiting till you get home. She laughed and asked him what if the window upstairs would open and his mum would see him parked? Then his mum would see his car parked like he just parked his car.
After a few minutes he said “Sh*t my sister is here I call u later” Aarzoo had a creepy feeling, she texted him to ask if everything was okay, he replied “my parents where sitting in the same car! I’ll tell u everything on msn” Aarzoo got a bit nervous, it was the second time in a week when everything went a bit wrong.
As soon Kabeer saw his sisters car he jumped out and walked quickly, his sister was married and worked full time, she had a daughter of 1 and her daughter was by Kabeer’s mum during the day. His parents went to a family who came from Pakistan and after that to his uncle. They saw his nephew there and asked him where Kabeer was. Nephew replied “he left 20 minutes ago” ( Kabeer and he both trained together) So when his parents went home it was already 50 minutes that Kabeer left for home, and he was still sitting in the car talking with Aarzoo. His parents came upstairs and the first thing his mother did was look angry at him and ask him with whom he was on the phone, was it the same girl? “no it was a friend, why a u asking?” Kabeer replied. His mother told him what his nephew said. Kabeer started to laugh and again after a few minutes the anger of his mother calmed. These accidents kept happening but both of them were a bit care fuller.
Kabeer called Aarzoo a churail, she really hated that word, and he liked it when she got annoyed. When he said that to her she always told him to find some one who ain’t a “churail” he always replied with “I have you so why should I search for another?” or “would you be happy if I found someone else?” she never replied on these questions instead replying she said: “u know what I’m taking a new number, wont give you that, just search a churail, get married and leave me” he always laughed, he really liked it when she got pissed or angry.
He was out again, and texted her, she was with friends watching movies and every 5 minutes a message arrived. Her friends asked her what and whom she was texting so late in night, she said that it was a friend who wanted to know how the movie was. Her friends looked at each other and winked, they knew Aarzoo, and they knew that she was making an excuse. She asked him what his friends said seeing him texting all the time. He answered “what do they have to say, they know” she wanted to ask him what he meant by that she didn’t. He was at 6 am at home, and she was still awake she couldn’t believe it by herself she never did something like this before, what happened to her? And he also never staid awake texting with a girl. Both where a bit confused but didn’t told each other anything.
It was almost 6 months further, almost summer, and Aarzoo’s birthday also came. Kabeer asked her what the plans where for her birthday, she didn’t had any plans yet, her friends would made the plans she would only enjoy the day. He wanted her to safe a piece of cake for him. she laughed out loud! “till next year?” she asked him. He wanted it this year he said.
Aarzoo had a meeting, she bought cake for her colleagues and a few minutes before the meeting started Kabeer called her to ask what she was doing. She told him that she was at the meeting and asked him what his plans where, he would go to he gym he said. Her meeting started, she hang up the phone. While eating the cake she looked at her friend and colleague Sarah, should we bring a cake to the gym? She asked Sarah. Sarah looked at her and said why not!! Aarzoo almost choke in her cake, she had made a joke, but her friend was serious. Aarzoo asked her again are u sure about it? You really know what u are saying yes to? Sarah looked her way and said yes, he wants cake right? Then he will get cake!
They hoped that the meeting would be over soon, and it did. They where done in 20 minutes instead of 2.5 hours. They went to the bakery and bought a cake, and a small card. Aarzoo “because you wanted it so badly…you know who” wrote on it. They had the cake and Aarzoo thought she knew where his gym was. She drove with her friend to the gym. “Sarah I ain’t go inside” Aarzoo said. I don’t want him to see me now. Sarah looked her way and said okay I will go in, what do you want me to say?
Just give it to him and say that you had to give it from Aarzoo. “okay but come inside first, I don’t really know how he looks like, if you see him walk outside wait in the car and then I will give it to him” Sarah said. Aarzoo agreed but she had another idea, if they didn’t find him, the could let the counter announce his name, and both could wait outside, she told Sarah her idea, she agreed. Both went into the gym and asked immediately if there was a possibility to make an announcement, the ladies behind the reception said that there wasn’t and asked Aarzoo and Sarah why they wanted to make an announcement. The girls explained that they had a surprise for a friend but he didn’t know that they where coming and he must not know that it was from Aarzoo yet. “why ain’t you go inside the gym see if you see him and give it him in person?” she said to Sarah. Sarah looked at Aarzoo and both went to the window of the gym to see if he was their or not. Aarzoo didn’t saw him. “why don’t you give him a call and ask him to come to the reception?” Sarah asked. Aarzoo was afraid to make a call inside the gym, what if he was near her, and what would he think if he saw her in the gym? She went outside the gym, Sarah asked the ladies of the reception to keep the cake on the desk and if Kabeer came to give it to him, and she went after Aarzoo outside.

“Kabeer where are you” Aarzoo was on the phone. He was at the gym, Aarzoo asked him to come to the reception, “I’m already there” he replied. “wait I’ll call you back in 2 minutes. Aarzoo and Sarah went to the window of the gym but didn’t saw him there, “he is in another gym” she said to Sarah, can u pick up the cake? Sarah looked at her, “are you sure?” she asked, maybe he knows that you’re here and he’s fooling around? Aarzoo was sure about it, he wasn’t in this gym, Sarah went to get the cake, the ladies behind the reception looked strange to her when she made up that the friend was standing outside the gym so she will give the cake personally to him.
He called, and she asked him where his m was, he explained it to her, and asked why she was asking. “just curious” she replied, and asked him how long he will be at the gym, stay there at least for 40 minutes! He agreed. Sarah and Aarzoo went to his gym.
Aarzoo parked the car in front of the gym. Okay Sarah here you go. Sarah looked at her and asked Aarzoo what to say to him and how she would recognize him. Aarzoo told her to ask it on the counter they would help her, Sarah asked his whole name, and went inside the gym.
Sarah stood in front of the gym, she looked at the building and realised that she never had done something so stupid as she was going to do now! She also knew that it was Aarzoo’s most stupid thing ever. But it was also a kind of fun she thought. Sarah went inside, she saw the stairs she had to o up. It where so many stairs, “It better will be worth it” she mumbled.
What she saw when she arrived upstairs made her blush, there where to sides of the big entrance hall, both sides had glass walls, behind the walls people where cycling or running. And every one looked at her, and the cake in her hand, she couldn’t go back that would be an bigger embarrassment. She walked through the hall to the reception. There where 2 stupif looking boys sitting behind the desk. “I’m looking for a friend he’s here right now can you give this to him?” she put the cake on the desk. They looked at her said sorry we can’t but what is the name of your friend then we can give it him when he will be done training. Sarah told his name, they looked in the system but couldn’t find Kabeer. “what is his date of birth” one of the boys asked, Sarah started blushing even more, she didn’t knew his date of birth! U know what I will make an announcement the other one said. Noo don’t do that, I will ask my friend his date of birth, she grab her phone, but she couldn’t find it! **** it’s in the car, she excused herself and walked quickly out of the gym.
“you forgot your phone” Aarzoo said, and she looked at the hands of Sarah. Sarah told her what happened. Aarzoo laughed. “give him a call” Sarah said, “or text him” Aarzoo started o write a text, come to the reception! And pressed the send button. “you know how many stairs they have?” Sarah asked her, call him when I et inside. Aarzoo called him when she saw her friend getting inside the gym. “are you there?” she asked, he wanted to know why he had to come to the reception. Are you here by chance he asked her. “no I’m not” She asked him why he asked her that, “there are to many pakistani’s out here” she laughed, no I’m not at your gym but my friend is there and she looking for you, she asked him to wait, she had another line. It was Sarah, she asked Aarzoo where Kabeer was, Aarzoo told her that he was coming, she also asked Sarah that when she saw him to keep the phone on hold, but not let him know that Aarzoo was in hold. Aarzoo switched to Kabeer, “where is she” he asked, “what is she look like?” Aarzoo described her friend, owh I see her, Aarzoo said that she was hanging up.
And listened to what he said to her friend. ...to be continued
