Online relationships?

Can they be seen in a serious way, or do u just laugh at them?:hmmm:

Re: Online relationships?

Hmmmm... long gone are the days when this matter was laughable... now even potential rishtas meet online, including families...

So basically, to answer your question, yes, they can be seen in a serious way...

Online relationships/matrimonial sites have proved successful for some people, whereas others have been disappointed by them. And then, there are also people who don't feel comfortable with the idea of not being able to see the potential friend/rishta face-to-face during the communication process.

A person can be deceived/taken for a ride in both personal/face-to-face relationships as well as online relationships. The risk for deception in online relationships is greater because you can't see the other person's face/expressions, etc.

Online relationships are simply another option for people to make connections and find a spouse. Whether one wants to seriously consider this option or reject it depends upon personal preference.

Re: Online relationships?

I feel you have to be able to see the person you want to marry (Webcam does not count!). Its all in the eyes.

Re: Online relationships?

Online is just the means. Being of the current times you should know the difference.

At one point Zaroorat rishta in newspaper was ridiculed ( still is sometimes )

At one time the women who did this for a living were considered not a good avenue.

Never shun a new form of means if it is just a waseela. Use it to your benefit.

Re: Online relationships?

no no...never make fun of any lover and his/her love.
otherwise u will be cursed.
if u dont wana have any relationship...politely refuse.

there is no need to make a fuss about it.

ps. but i dont like to see some online khullam khulla proposals. getting marrying is a very respectable action so it should be respectfully requested.

Re: Online relationships?

I think the two people need to have met in 'real life' after meeting online, in order for their relationship to be taken seriously.

Re: Online relationships?

talking online is considered more Islamic than meeting up because u r not together.....
there are still perverts and idiots out there so beware, u just have to be vigilant...
but yeah there are worse things than online relationships... :S

Wasn’t all this discussed in the thread below already?

Re: Online relationships?

I was just going to post that link and you got there before me. Hopefully the above thread will give some insight Waterfall :)

Re: Online relationships?

it denpends on the two people in the relationship...

Re: Online relationships?

Like any relationship Waterfall, online relationships take time and effort to make them into real ones. Doesnt matter how you meet, the development is still the same and depending on the chemistry of the people involved can either blossom...or not.

All sorts of life questions Waterfall, sab khairiyat hai na? :)

Re: Online relationships?

Khairiyat se baat bhooot aagaai chale gie hai ...thts y waterfall is worried ..:)

Re: Online relationships?

I know one failed marriage and two still "progressive" marriage.

Will see how long the other two lasts =) ... they don't seem like they have any problems.... and are glad they met online!

so online can be a good option too...

Re: Online relationships?

Things can get prettttty serious.

Re: Online relationships?

Waterfall you’ve convinced me…lets do it

Re: Online relationships?

What have I convinced you ?:aq:

Re: Online relationships?

I will say again "their are quit a lot example from gupshup only, where people meet on this forum, then offline & get married and now have couple of children and usually post in Pakistan Affairs, Household, All views" ..

You know I play a game called world of warcraft? There are like 10,000 stories like “oh I met this guy on warcraft, started a relationship, met each other, and then we got serious, and finally we got married…” and they even go on with saying “now I have 15 year old son playing lvl 70 human mage, he is pro at it. I am proud of my son.”

Facebook have 50k stories like this which came true.

Orkut have 5k stories like this which came true.

So moral of the story is. Majority of entire population looks at this online relationship thing from practical prospective view. (that includes me)

Others just take it as a joke which really throws you mood off because agger daekha jaye to GS bhi online relationship ke liye hi bana hay. If we are not to take virtual chat seriously and believe that the person behind the other screen is fake then I’ll consider everyone is fake here and take you as a joke. :chai:

Re: Online relationships?

yea i do take them seriously..one can also fall in love online as we have already seen others..coz relations are all abt gettin along..i dnt think seeing som1 is tht important..ders no need of a pic even..bt when the other person wont trust u and yr love it really hurts :'(..esp when u knw even he/she loves you..snif sniff
