I know my husband would offer it to me and I would take it but come back to offer it to him coz like khawas husband mine has long legs and he loves sleeping.
And I would make him take care of the kids for the whole coz he got to sit in first class.

I ususally have seen first-class almost vacant, so anyone of you take it and request air hostess to assist you to bring your other half from economy.

I disagree....first class have old air hostesses, Ones with more experince.Economy class has young, beautiful and eager to learn or meet new people.My experience.

I had that situation on our way back from Pakistan a couple of weeks ago. Airline upgraded me to Business Class (because I'm a frequent traveler). I asked her to take the BC seat but she didn't want to. So during most of the flight I was standing in the Economy area where wife and kids were sitting.

first class or third, being together matters. I am not great enough either to give over the first class seat to the husband/friend and sulk alone in the other class. SO decline would be my choice.

I would sit in first class if I was upgraded. My SO would probably sulk though so I don't see it happening.

Hubby always gets an upgrade when we travel together and I never do. Last time this happened he negotiated with the airline folks into getting us both economy plus seats, instead of 1 economy and 1 business. Not such a great deal for us, but we got to sit together and that's all I cared for ;)

Economy seats are premium seats in the bulkhead area with more legroom, wider [just a little!] and fares are totally refundable, changeable and re-route-able.

erm, I will certainly offer and push my SO to take the first class seat.. if its a long haul flight, we might exchange places halfway or so , but in general, I would be happier him enjoying the benefit.

If it were a friend though, I think I wouldnt give up on my first class seat :cb: ok I might let them enjoy it for a bit , but no way am I getting deprived of the luxurious ride :lifey:

there was a story about this i believe. two families fighting over a couple of remaining business class seats. In the end they played musical chairs to decide who gets the seats. :/
