there was a story about this i believe. two families fighting over a couple of remaining business class seats. In the end they played musical chairs to decide who gets the seats.

and unles the seats were in an isle how did they all get to their seats?

So during most of the flight I was standing in the Economy area where wife and kids were sitting.

Why didn’t you give up the 1st class seat if you didn’t want to sit there? That way, you would’ve been able to sit down in the economy area, and someone else who actually wanted to be in 1st class could’ve been upgraded.

If you and spouse were traveling together, and the airlines offered you a first class ticket, would you leave your spouse back in economy for the duration of the flight?

offer him/her your seat?

decline and sit miserably in economy?

Would your answers vary if the flight time was longer than 5 hours or just a quic 1 hour flight?

What if it wasn’t your spouse, perhaps your best friend?

if travelling with my spouse and i am offered a first class ticket i would never leave my spouse and sit in the first class. (no matter how much spouse forces me avail it). i will try if i can get another first class ticket for my spouse for free/discounted price or i would offer my ticket to my spouse to avail the opportunity. flight time does not matter.

as for anyone else, other than my spouse…well depends on the relationship and the circumstances…if its a friend or relative whom i just met on the flight then i would go for the fort class. if i had journey plans with them arranged ages back then i would not unless hey dont mind at all. it really depends on the person and the circumstances.
