Re: OMFG..
they regarded it as blasphemy.
That place was weird. They didnt believe in technology so only had typewriters. When things got really bad they got in one computer but no one in the building knew how to use it because they were all uber strict Christians.
I think they got a shock when they realised I was a Muslim. :)
Re: OMFG..
Oh wow..
**ohhh my …okay…let it pass…that was an eye opener!..fine,something serious…
well, when we say OMFG, its not God v r referring to as F*******…its just some extreme or sudden emotions or feelings v r using it for… the offending capabilities of this word depends on ur religious outlook…
this might help…**

using “oh my God” should have got u some xtra brownie points…how is it offensive even to a conservative christian?![]()
No idea.
Like I said…it was weird.
Re: OMFG..
To all the people that use omfg on the internet: Would you shout out "OH MY FCUKING....." in real life, even as an immediate reaction? No you would not. So please stop trying to justify it in abbreviated form.
It's just another ridiculous (and very old) internet slang that originated from immature kids excited to be on the internet.
Re: OMFG..
Actually sometimes I do shout out oh my ****ing god.
Re: OMFG..
Well then you need to grow up and realise what you are saying.
Re: OMFG..
Yeh I am hardly out of teens, will keep your advice in mind once I am 26 or 30 something.
Re: OMFG..
Well well well looking at the views and replies, at least I got this thread running:chai:
Re: OMFG..
Using the F word with God? That explains it all.
It's especially funny coming from people who act all 'islamic'.
what’s up mothafukka ![]()
Not being rude:nono: ..just breaking some barriers, they are meant to be broken right? :masoom:

Funny that, coz you want people to think you're all grown up and mature when it suits you.
Linguistically, there is little difference between God and Allah, especially if we're talking about Abrahamic religions. God isn't a Christian word, it's an English one. Just as Coptic Christians in Egypt call God Allah.
Re: OMFG..
On a side note, how Christian GOD differs from Allah? Also calling Hazrat Essa (AS) Jesus or Christ makes him a different person, so we can treat him differently?
Now back to the topic. I agree with the most posters here. OMFG is considered rude even among the "western" EDUCATED and MATURE circles.
ahem
Listen to this girl, look how much sense she is talking you all..we all should learn from her. :sahar02:

Re: OMFG..
actually also read the comments in that thread, they make even more sense..man I am in awe..
Re: OMFG..
i really fail to understand what is wrong with people who actually think its cool to use slang, especially when ur NOT bought up in a sociaety that uses the english slang often, just goes to show how sme people try too hard to fit in nowadays
i have been bought up here in UK n have llived in many different cities n towns where people talk slang and normal english but i never ever used slang, even now when someone uses slang to communicate with me i say 'Im really sorry i do not understand as i never learnt these words' thats enough to keep them quite
and aisha my dear NO Christians dont refer to Jesus as God they refer to Him as Gods son (nauzobillah) :)
Re: OMFG..
using such slangs/rude language turns your tongue into black and then u have to wash it.My mommy told me that.
Re: OMFG..
^ yeah u have to wash ur mouth with soap then :bleeeuurghh:
