I understand the feelings. Even I feel that I failed as a Muslim, as a human being. When my only reaction to such acts is that “oh this is not islam, and Islam is a religion of peace”, then I am merely doing a lip service. Nothing else. We need to do something more. I dont know what. But we have to.

Whitewashing is first priority, then second is to establish an Islamic state, where maulanas like Yasir Qadhi can persecute and punish people who don’t live according to Islam. Such a state certainly sounds like the recipe for disaster, but let’s just continue whitewashing for a while.

This is what people forget regarding homosexuality and Islam. Liberals bashing what happened in Orlando etc. At the same time they forget that homosexuality is pretty much not allowed in any religion. Every religion has lunatics who become self-enforcers of the written word etc. When it shouldn’t be. I’ve read so many times in the Daily Mail about lunatic Christians, white supremacists etc, who want to kill fellow people, or Jews etc. No one calls them terrorists, everyone just seems to call a few out of the 1.6 billion Muslims, terrorists. Paint every Muslim with the same brush, unfortunately.

According to Daily Mail, he had pledged allegiance to ISIS ‘after’ he had massacred few people and was holding rest hostage. This act wasn’t a terrorist act per say for an organisation or something, this act was hate crime to please that organisation that he wanted to join. Effing idiot either way. His ex-wife also said that he was mentally unstable, used to beat her up etc and this is why she had got divorced from him. He wasn’t sane in the first place.

I don’t have sympathy with that man but I would say police force (world wide) do on-the-spot shooting that kill the accused/criminal. Everyone has a right to appear before court of law. This would also help in investigation. Police should fire rubber bullet or bullet at hands or legs. Okay I understand that he could have bombs (and could trigger it) he could kill more people if not killed but science has progressed so much, discover/invent techniques to capture criminal carrying guns bombs alive.

No, not according to the U.S. Supreme Court. And law enforcement isn’t going to stop using deadly force against people who pose an immediate, serious threat of danger to the officer or another person; at least not anytime soon.

Let’s not even get started on the money side of capturing these lunatics so they can go through the court system for years while taxpayer money pays for all their costs.

^ This. LGBT/Trans community is a minority group that has been and continues to be discriminated against b/c of something that’s a part of them. It’s not different from Muslims being discriminated against because of what we believe. We are both minority groups under attack. I agree with the statements made by CAIR/other organizations. Regardless of our personal religious belief, NOTHING justifies what happened in Orlando. The fact that it’s in Ramadan takes it to a new height. We need to show our support not only by words, but also by doing whatever we can to help (volunteering our time/items, donating blood for anyone on Florida etc.). As a minority community that’s under attack by all sides, we need to take an active stance and counter this not only with our words but also deeds against another minority community that was butchered like animals.

For Muslims who are involved in their local Islamic organizations, they also need to reach out to their local LGBT organizations, offer support/any help they might need, and make it crystal-clear that we do not support/agree with the massacre that took place.

Re personal beliefs, maybe it is time to think deeply about whether those pesonal beliefs are immoral.
