Oil Cleansing Method

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Isn't it too much doing it every single day, it might make the skin too oily?

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

^ I thought the same until I tried it out.

It doesn't make the skin oily at all...if you do it too much and you have the wrong combo you might end up drying your skin out actually.

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

What kind of washcloth do you use? microfiber or muslin(mulmul)?

My favorite cleansing method requires only two things: water+ microfiber cloth

I run the microfiber cloth under water and wring it out. I then wet my face and gently rub the cloth it over my face. It removes all my makeup and sunblock. I have very sensitive skin that is prone to break-outs if not cleansed properly at night. Before the microfiber cloth method, I always needed to cleanse with a foaming face wash which would ultimately dry out my skin. If i used a cream cleanser, the skin wouldn't be fully cleansed and i'd break out.

after i am done cleansing, i spritz my face with rosewater+glycerin mix and top off with vitamin c serum that i make myself. skin has never been better.

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Its the easiet thing u can do in just 2 minutes nd the resullts r great.
its great for removing makeup, it works when u feel ur skin dull and have no time for scrubing nd peel off.It also gives a shine to face even after a single use.

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Thank you for this, ladies. I love it so so much, its magical

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

i think i might join the bandwagon too :).

question though...can you use the clarisonic to massage the oil or is that counterintuitive?

also, can you please post links/pictures of the microfiber cloth used to clean the face?

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Would like to know the results of Oil cleansing method?

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Okay so I also jumped onto this.

Been.2 weeks so far.can't find.castor oil here in pak so using extra.virgin olive oil. Haven't gotten any new acne and I had a huge Breakout recently.

I'm glowy and clean. No new.acne.

Unsure about fading redness or exfoliation. Does this method exfoliate.too? Or should I use retin a afterwards at.night or manually exfoliate with baking soda etx

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

I didn't know Castor Oil dried out skin, if used too much/larger quantity. Thank God I found this thread before slathering on dry feet and hands to battle winter dryness. Not at all related to OCM, but useful info indeed.

Old threads are Gold threads =)

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Has anyone used following oils for their dry skin ?

**Dry Skin Cleansing Oil Recipe

10% castor oil (use less for ultra dry skin)
30% high linoleic sunflower oil
60% avocado oil

**

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

I’ve used avocado oil and loved it! The links you posted, the price/size of the oils are too high/big. Avacado oil has a shelf life of 1 year if you keep it in the refrigerator and I’m not sure what the shelf life is on the others but unless you’re using these oils for other reasons, mixing them just for OCM may not be enough to use them all up within the time frame. $50+ is also too much to spend if you’re new to OCM and/or these oils in my opinion. What if you spend all that money and don’t like the oil?

This is the site I buy my oils from: http://www.gardenofwisdom.com/oils.html

They have TONS of choices and detailed description of each. For dry skin, you should also look at the following oils: Meadowfoam, Almond, Pumpkin Seed, Shea,

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

Copied the oil’s names, links were also copied directly from the Oil Cleansing site, lol. I have got castor oil already at home but ordered other two from different sites, surely not these expensive ones, wouldn’t mind adding sweet almond oil a bit as i have got that one available too. Do you use OCM daily or days when you apply heavy make-up?

Any rosehip oil users here?

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

I bought one, but when my current combo of olive & castor runs out, I’ll start using that. Btw, I found another one, 30% castor and 70% olive so I use that. Just because I had them. I’m satisfied with the results but I’m open to changing it up and using rosehip next time.

I do the OCM (or try to) every day. For heavy makeup, I will use makeup remover for the eye area.

Re: Oil Cleansing Method

I use OCM only when I wear make-up or sunscreen (so at least 5/days weekly). And I’ve used Rosehip off and on for the past few years.
