Ask for a refund for your internship with queer guru!
Or rub mustard oil to get your peeka back on your chew.
So none has heard of this OCM method?
What I found interesting is the concept that non-polar solvent like oil/sebum on face can be removed by another non-polar solvent, i.e., other oils. Seems to make sense.
Hey partyslims!!! want to be my guinea pig? ![]()
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
I've heard of it but I'll be honest...since I am acne prone/redness prone...I stay away from oil and anything I suspect might irritate.
Lots of people find it beneficial though.
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
That's what I am afraid of...it sounds a bit counterintuitive.
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
I was going to start a thread but wanted to wait for a month & see the results. I have been doing it since the past 3 weeks now & it DOES make a difference. My only problem is I am not as punctual with it. Like I have skipped couple of days here & there.
But do I see this working. I sure do. I tend to break out a lot during that time of the month & that hasn't changed with this but I have not used any of my face washes in a long time except once. I feel like my skin is getting radiant over time.
I have combination skin & I started using a 50 % Olive oil & 50% Castor oil concoction. My skin was getting too oily. So now I do 30% Olive oil & 70% Castor Oil.
Don't be scared to try this ladies. Just find the right mix that works for you.
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
i have an acne-prone skin but did not have a problem with it. It did wonders for me, unfortunately im too lazy to do it on a regular basis
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
Ok someone post more details? I have very dry skin. :(
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
I have acne prone, combination skin. I’ve done OCM quite a few times and love it! I usually do this when I’m removing make-up. It does a GREAT job and removing everything and leaves my skin feeling very soft/glowy.
As for the oils, I don’t get too fancy. I usually do this using avacado or jojoba oil. I’ve done this with argan oil too when I had it at home.
For anyone interested in how to do this, scroll down this website. It has step-by-step instructions.

Re: Oil Cleansing Method
it really works, I've been doing it for 2-3 weeks, not very regularly though I skip a day or two in between. Yes it makes you all glowy and makes the skin baby soft. I've stopped using any face washes or moisturizers, minimizes pores and my blackheads are about half gone! I had this habit of applying moisturizer on damp skin as soon as I had washed my face earlier, so I felt as if something was missing...I started using rosewater after cleansing to compensate for that.
I sometimes get red cystic acne and I've noticed that I dont get any pimples when Im doing the cleansing regularly (with just a day or two in between) but then I get the pimples rarely, and I've never been able to find a pattern as to why they appear. So Im not sure if OCM helps in avoiding them.
My T-zone feels really oily sometimes just the way it does when you remove the blackheads and the pores become unclogged and the oil seems to come pouring out of them. So that's a good sign in a way, but I haven't noticed any reduction in oil production..maybe it takes longer for that?
All in all, I think its really worth it. I've been thinking of adding a few drops tea-tree oil into it which is good for acne, but it is SO expensive. I think I'll still go for it because its an investment, considering the oil replaces my face wash, scrub, moisturizer, make up remover, cleanser, toner, and to some extent even foundation! Because I don't need foundation on day-to-day basis, just on nights out or events. I wish I could do it for all my body too :D

Sara it works for dry skin really well! I feel it works for dry to normal to combination skin types. Im not so sure about extremely oily skin though. Maybe it works for oily skin too but the skin needs some time to adjust? But I would really suggest you try it, just keep the ratio of castor oil low as it tends to dry skin out. Or just start with olive oil, thats what I did. When I found that it worked for me then I mixed in castor oil, almond oil, nigella oil etc...So give it a try with any one oil say olive or almond or any oil that you have, then see how it works for you :)
Re: Oil Cleansing Method
I also use hydrogen peroxide 6% for my acne and scars, so maybe thats what prevents them. Im not really sure about the acne, but OCM certainly din't increase them!
