So the OCM is meant for at night. The next morning, I should wash with water and wipe with a facecloth, tone and then moisturize, right?
Yes, OCM is meant for night so it gets rid of all makeup/dirt etc. and you're left with a clean face.
Personally, I only wash my face with cold water in the morning. Then I apply Vitamin C serum. On days when it looks/feels dry, I'll apply moisturizer (usually some type of oil). Whether or not you moisturize or use toner in the morning totally depends on your skin. If your skin feels oily and you think that you "need" to use toner...go ahead. If it feels/looks dry..then definitely use moisturizer.
^ I make my own. Tons of recipes for it online. Ready-made one's are too $$$ and based on what I've read, I also have doubts about their effectiveness. :)

Guys thanks so much for this! I started using this after I read it here, everyday after work and it leaves my skin soo clean. I always use to feel that some mascara or gel eye liner remains after I use my makeup remover. Before I knew about this I always tried avoiding using mascara as it’s so hard to take it off completely. But now . Totally in love with the OCM!
I've done this for past 2 days now. My skin is combo but on the drier side. I've used 30% castor oil and 70% jojoba oil (what I had at hand). Massage for about 2-3 minutes. And then the steam towel thing about 2-3 times. Skin is not greasy afterwards and feels very clean and supple.
Not sure about the long term benefits, but I do like the luxurious feel of the process.
^ I guess you could do it any time during the day. I prefer to do it at nighttime because it feels so good after a long day at work, very relaxing and takes the makeup off. I don't apply anything afterwards. And in the mornings, I just wash my face with plain water and apply spf moisturizer.
^ See that's my issue. I can't get around the idea of not washing my face in the morning. I tried it one day...i.e., not washing my face in the morning...but later recall seeing some white flaky stuff on my face. Now can't say if it was dried drool :D
As for OCM, I tried it for a whopping 5 days and I must say "supple" is the perfect word to describe how your skin feels afterward. But no, I didn't get any glowy skin. I should also mention that I used a different concoction everyday...from just rosehip oil one day, to rosehip and olive oil the other, and a mixture of both castor and olive oil another day. I was also using a toner and a moisturizer afterwards.
I am not sure if I should do OCM every night or once in a.....blue moon, which is likely what I'd end up doing.
It's the sense of being clean after you use anything that creates foam ;)
I used to be like that, however after having problematic skin for years, I'm with philosopy of "less is more". And water does just fine most days, here and there I'll use the facewash.

Nai why wouldn’t you be washing your face in the morning? Even I can’t come to work like that. Just use your regular facial soap/cleanser. For me OCM is an add on. It makes me just relax when I go back home. Also I feel super clean taking off all that dirt well! But boy am I after my mum to keep the geaser running even in summers :DI can’t go through the hassle of steaming water and then washing my face everyday after work
Thank you for sharing the link. I have seen someone do this but I only use oil to remove makeup. Currently at home, I have olive oil, sesame seed oil, and jojoba oil. What % combination do you use or do you just use 100% jojoba.
I think you’re fine with skipping it a day or two, here and there. After reading the website that Paheli00 shared, my concern is doing this too often. They warn not too do it too frequently. After all the glowing endorsements, I want to try this method!
*This deep cleansing method should be done regularly, but not too frequently. You’ll know if you’re deep cleansing too frequently by the dryness that your
skin will exhibit. Don’t be surprised if you find you’ve unblocked an oil flow for the first few days. Once you remove the plugs from your pores, they will
begin functioning properly again. Perfect skin won’t happen overnight and while it should take a few massages to achieve your goal, you should notice a huge difference in your skin after the first deep cleansing massage. Give your skin a few days to adjust and adapt to being clean and clear of blockages; understand that the new oil coming from your skin is actually a good sign and will balance out very shortly. You’ll find redness and irritation subsiding. you’ll find your skin losing that “congested,” and thick feeling. *
I don't mix the oils like its stated in the article. I'm too lazy to actually measure & mix. I've done OCM using Avacado, Argan, and Jojoba oil without any issues (the oils were never mixed together; I just happen to have several different kinds at home). Never used Castor oil. Personally, I've gotten the results described in the article (ie. makeup/dirt is removed and skin is left feeling super soft/moisturized). Thus, I don't believe that the type of oil or even mixing 2 as opposed to using 1 makes any real difference.
Frequency: I don't have the patience to do this daily. With my combination skin, I try to do this 1x....maybe 2x each week. I know everyone's skin is different so who knows.....maybe others....especially those with severely dry skin can do this daily. But I believe instead of doing OCM daily....it's best to combine it with other products such as chemical peels, Retin A, AHA creams etc.
Now I want to know about difference between Extra Virgin Olive oil and normal olive oil. Do we require some specific kind/brand of olive oil to apply this method?
I use extra virgin olive oil...and that's it. So far, its been great. Out of pure laziness I might not do it every single night but I try to keep up with it.
Looking for more oils and might try a combo if I find something interesting.
