I pray that he’s also protected from the evils of the public, and his advisors. Sometimes, it’s the case where the advisors you surround yourself with become the reason for your downfall. Yes Men can lead a man to stop questioning his actions, and his conscience goes on a long slumber.
Lets hope that he works for the public, and realizes that it is soon that public may turn to lynching if they’re pushed anymore. Their backs are already against the wall vis a vis high prices, electricity, etc.
What do you expect to see happen in the next 90 days with Nawaz Sharif as the Prime Minister? What do you feel is realistically achievable before years’ end?
You can’t put people in jail b/c you don’t like them or disagree with their political philosophy or ideology. In order to put someone in jail s/he must be 1st be convicted of a crime by impartial judge/jury.
90 days? Probably not much, but by end of the year they should have some control over loading shedding b/c it is destroying Pakistan’s economy. They should start working on converting plants burning oil to coal as soon as possible. I was reading somewhere that Pakistan has huge coal reserve, but most of the plants generating electricity actually run on imported furnace oil.
Pakistani coal is of very poor quality (no gassification yet) and it would require lots of water to run coal plants, right? Dams, wind power and even solar panels (cheap due to chinese subsidies) could be the answer. Dams could be the run of the mill (that don’t store water) though we need to store water as well.
Well, in that case blame the system. The CJ wiped away most of NS’s sins by overturning all of his convictions & returning his confiscated assets. As for AAZ, he was never convicted of anything crime within the country, and outside convictions would not have hampered his chances of holding political office with in the country. Btw, AAZ did served what amounts to a life sentences in jail w/o ever being convicted of anything fyi.
At the oath-taking ceremony, services chiefs, political leaders, diplomats and senior civil and military officials had been invited.
