Niqab: Cast your vote

Yes i agree, but this mentality exist TLK bro, that who have "daarhi" or wear bhurkha are better Muslim. It's actually very easy to say being in west (my chachoo has darhi and he is as cool as Tom Cruise), but living up to your cultural/environment in Pakistan after 9/11 is not so easy anymore. Ladies & their schools are repeatedly targeted just because they don't wear Nikaab or go to so-called elite school.

As far the banning of burkha/niqaab concerned in West, i am all for it because it's totally against the way of life the current people have here. If someone don't like it, he/she can happily move back to "Islamic Land" !

I will gave example of lets say: Ahmedia* (you know my history with them :D)* as non-muslim minority according to constitution of Pakistan, isn't it discriminated ?. So all is not well in us either !

erm no i wasnt agreeing with you and my ^ was meant to point at the other guy but you posted b4 me.

Don't you wanna live forever in heaven?

Good Night & Sweet Dreams, Irish Eyes !

so I should not become a better muslim (by look) cause if I do, people will point finger at me that TLK is pretending to be a better muslim?

you are better Muslim (by look) ... i am not (i deserve hell) !

So what's the issue?

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

Now we are being plain sarcastic here.

Let me rephrase it, if I want to have a tatoo on my left arm cause it talks to my soul, makes me feel peacful, should I or should I not have it?

how about a foot long darhee, a topi, a pagree? Can I?

In your own islamic land TLK bhai :) in your own islamic land.

SO you are telling me that its wrong if Mullahs expect Hillary Clinton to wear full length skirt and a scarf on her head when she enters Shahi Mosque in Lahore (a clothing restriction), but it is not wrong for french govt to impose a clothing restriction on Muslim french girls

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

I work in East London, and almost every other girl wears the Burqa. Still don't understand why.

Yes, pretty much.

Note one more thing TLK bhai:

If a woman chooses to wear a hijab or a burqa, she is making a political statement and she is also imposing that she is better than everyone else.

If a woman chooses to dress normally (according to her definition of normal), then she has all the rights in the world to do so.

With that note, I say alvida to GS for today. Hope u learned something new today too TLK bhai :)

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

The CBC has taken upon itself to decide that banning the niqab protects women's right. Kudos to them for doing a poll but shame on them for wording the question in such a poor biased manner.

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

^ well said

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

If them wearing niqab is not hurting me in any shape, color or form then why should I vote against it? .. If a bikini model can troll around naked.. rigging in a two piece swim suit, then a Muslim woman should and must be able to practice her religion freely without being judged by sub-par egotists...

Re: Niqab: Cast your vote

nah it shudnt be banned.

err i think ur version of islam tells you covering face isnt necessary.

Fix ur religious concepts before u indulge into discussing whether islam stresses upon covering face or not.

If a lady is wearing ninja-clothes she is making a political statement in Western-Land, same way if a Gori is hanging around in bikni some where in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia she is making not only political but offensive ..and against the religion .. against the law of land.. and else. and less and she deserve to be killed.. it's that easy.

Every person knows the definition of appropriate clothes according to venue, but being a only burkha-clad lady in the crowd is sure an issue.

With that information, hope you learn something new today !

Bibi jee, please enlighten me where in Quran it's mentioned that face-covering is mandatory.

If you prove it, i will take back all my wordings & thinkings on this Burkha/Naqaab topic !

Why in the world do u think all the ladies (Prophet's wifes and sahabas) used to cover up in Prophet's era?

it wasnt a cultural thing.it was made mandatory later.

So few ninjas, so many slatterns... majority wins. **Who has ever cared about the rights of the minorities?**

If naqaab should be banned, bikinis should be banned too. Agreed? Great! We have a deal!

Otherwise, take your ideas of "not drawing so much attention to yourself" back to where they came from.

The ninjas will be most displeased! This silly "veil ban" will likely affect their livelihood, and they won't go quietly (oh no)! Ready the shurikens, gals:* this is war*! >:-(

Again Found me any Ayat from Quran.... and next time when you say something about religion, do provide a source !
