i heard from many peoples that canon is best. i saw there specs and both are approx same. i personally like nikon D60, not sure which one to buy as now the price of canon d400 is very low as compared to nikon.

sheal check this night shot pic i took with nikon d60 just today.. i personally believe d60 is the best!
trust me i know as i also had canon before.. and i have a long history with sony cameras as well as their alpha series… nikon is the best and professionals use it!:k:

well cybershot is not a DSLR brand.. sony's DSLRs are called the apha series...
cybershots are good but they cannot do what DSLRs can.

i never used canon so i cant say much about it…for me its Nikon 
the thing i dont like about sony cyber shot is it only offers 3X of zooming.

i only have seen ur paintings, and the shot you posted in post #5 is a candid shot. photography is an art, and u should post some serious work of urz.

thanks aisha. the pic is very nice. its exactly the same result as i wanted for night shot. i have sony cybershot but its not good for taking pics at night. thats why i wanted a good dslr in reasonable price range.

I'm not a photographer, but I work along side them all the time. Canon is best for fast photography (like sport photography), and nikon is best for clarity (sharpness).
My husband uses a nikon for fashion photography.
If you're not taking pictures of people, a canon should work fine.

i want it only for taking my family pics. i like to take pics whenever we go out for picnics even if we go out only for long drive i take my cam with me. i also like to do bridal photography.
one of my friend buy Nikon D60 and he is very happy with that, he wants to buy canon but when he went to buy he bought nikon. now every one is telling me its worth spending on these models either canon400D or nikon 60D.
keep your views and experiences coming. it will help me a lot to choose.
