I stopped using a cloth as it would get spots and I’m obsessive. With the disposables, I can just throw out after. I guess I’m so used to it now that burning isn’t an issue. Thanks though

Nikki , this was long over due .. for a whole lot while now people had been asking all sorts of Roti questions and am so glad you did this .. Thank you , thank you , thank you so much 
Now the roti .. its an amazingly gol roti .. I loved your Tawa and knowing very well what a mess of a roti comes off an electric stove , I feel yours looked totally shmexy and very balanced .. usually the electric stove roti’s get those huge burn marks and what now .. so yeah very very very well done ..
We need more video’s … whats next?

Tawa is from Walmart. It's a heavy base griddle pan! Takes time to heat up but I can cook 2 rotis together, and parathas come out awesome.

I’ve always wondered how people manage to roll a roti in the middle…I was taught to roll on one edge and the roti turns itself…trust me, this really works…but the problem is that now I can’t watch anyone roll it in the middle.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAN, looks soooooooo easy when someone else is doing it!!! I CAN NEVER make roti, i have quit!! I tried but it comes out so thick and kachhi and doesn't even "phulao" :'(

my mom makes the same way like flipping the moment when bubbles arrive.....she uses her hands too i'm just too scared of making roti with hands.....

LOL!! I do the rolling on the edge too! Depends on how big of a roti I’m making that day.
Just regular aata. Add water a little at a time, keep mixing with fingers until it’s in a ball form. Then knead with hands and knuckles. You may have to add more aata or water to adjust stickiness. YOur dough is ready when you press it with your fingers and u feel it has a resistance.

Yes, that's one of my favorite songs too. The camera was resting against one of my bartan, lol. I should have done this in landscape....didn't realize it at the time.
