At the moment I am in class, but it looks like you guys are using electric stove. it is hard to make roti on it. will comment further once at home.

I kid, the roti made me hungry! I always am surprised how ladies never burn their fingers, I'd be a disaster even attempting to make one :/

Yes, please! :yummy:

I make it slightly differently though. I flip it only twice. Once when the bottom side gets slightly brown, I flip it like you did in the beginning. I then let the other side cook completely (ā€œsaikingā€ it with a cloth) and then flip it the second time and saik that side too and thatā€™s when the roti puffs up completely, sign of a roti well made. :smiley: If itā€™s too thin or too thick or if it hasnā€™t been cooked properly, it wonā€™t puff up.

I wasnā€™t prepared this time, but I usually phulao my rotis too. This one was a larger roti so I just saikoed it.

Yea, I make it like Huma too. Only flip it three times. Also, we have gas stove so I don't make it on the tawa after the second flip. So I let it get translucent like you did on the first side. Flip and let it cook and then flip to cook the first side directly over top the flame (without the tawa). At this time if the second side wasn't completely cooked because I was being impatient I will finish the cooking over the flame.)=

Shak, I have no idea how my our moms don't burn their fingers. I use tongs to flip the roti. :D

that's a huge Tawwa you have! you could make humongous rotis on it and serve them to me :D
