phili's unbeaten home record in the playoffs this yr has finally been beaten by tampa in game 3 of the series, final score was 4 - 1...tampa was 4 - 0 on the road, so now they are 5 - 0 after this game...brashear is a sore loser for phili causing the stupid fight in the last 4 secs of the 3rd period...
tampa was leading 2 - 0 at the end of the 1st, no one scored in the second period...and eventhough phili got the early goal in the third period (36 secs into the 3rd), tampa got 2 more goals after that, the 3rd goal for tampa comin less than a min after the phili goal...phili could do better though, they gave away the last 2 goal really...better luck to phili for the next game...this series is now 2 - 1 for tampa...
so now PT, what say u :p u have to give respect to tampa...told u they've been on the top of their game pretty much throughout all of this yr...
now lets see what happens in the other game tonite, flames VS sharks...the flames already lead the series 2 - 0...
perfectly executed win by the sharks to come back in the series…the series is now 2 - 1…the win in game 3 of the series came at a final score of 3 - 0 for the sharks…not only did they get their defense up right, they also challaged calgary physically, winnin the puck on numerous occasions and scoring on a couple…well done :k: lets see what happens in the next game
In Game 3, Tampa did all what Philly did in Game 2. They had more transition, they played good on defence, and that’s why they deserved the win. I didn’t see the whole game, just 1st half of it, since I was watching Basketball.
Onto the second game of the last night, Man the Flames fans were really pissed off. When things don’t go your way, throw garbage on ice to stop the game.
PT yaar, i never said u disrespected them :p i just stated that so u c what i'm talkin bout :D that tampa is good :D
oh did the flames fan throw garbage on the ice? thats bad...i shut off the TV after the 2nd goal towards the end of the 3rd period knowin that they'd win, checked the score on nhl.com a few mins later and it was 3 - 0...so i guess it must've happened towards the end...bad sportsmanship :p they should realize that their team didn't really do anythin wrong, san jose just played a better game and came out on top...
what a thriller b/w tampa and phili once again...phili took the 1-0 lead, tampa managed to tie it, and had the 2- 1 lead for a few more mins later on b4 tampa tied the score again at 2 - 2...the last goal came in the last min of play to make it 3 - 2 for phili...
the series is dead even at 2 - 2 now...
awesome performances all around...hats off to Keith Primeau for the flyers...he gave his level best to this game, and it showed...next game b/w the 2 is on tues...and that will be a very cruicial game...
what an ugly 2nd period for calgary in the 4th game (flames vs sharks)…sharks surely took a big bite out of the flames, winnin this game 4 - 2 and scorin all the goals in the 2nd period…seems like calgarys defense was still on a break during that period, inlcuding Kiprusoff to allow such chances and such goals leavin the puck for the defenseman and the defenseman letting it go allowin san jose to capitalize on it and score…then simon… eventhough he scored in the last min of play in the 3rd period, agh, i am startin to hate that guy even more as time goes on cuz of all the penalties he gives away (and san jose made a rare goal on one of his penalties today 2)…the goals that calgary scored were lucky 2, otherwise it would’ve been 4 - 0 game for the sharks…well done to the sharks utilizing the chances given to them well in order to tie the series 2 - 2 now :k: makes the series more exciting
Right, SHARKS and FLAMES won both games on road. Home court didn't matter in 4 games but I still give edge to SHARKS.
Wonder how both teams perform today in Game 5 without any rest.

ahaan!
But Philly is good too.
I predict FLYERS taking Game 5, wrapping up the series in Game 6 at Philly!
^^ yea looks like the sharks have gotten the flames number...they are on a roll and they should be able to carry on the momentum tonite as well...lets see what happens :)
oh and of course phili is good :D i never said they weren't...i just said tampa's better (atleast this yr they are :p )
All Canadians should now rally behind the Calgary Flames, me thinks. Masha’Allah the underdog Canadian team made it this far - it’s not just a ‘western’ victory, it’s a Canadian victory.
Even if they don’t win the next game (i don’t think they have won a home game thus far, have they ?), they have still made Canada proud… with or without the Stanley Cup. They gave it their 110% :k:
Coming from a Yank, that means a great deal;~) They are the underdogs… that’s why it feels more nice to have them win (Insha’Allah if they do, but if they don’t, least they made it this far).
They’ve really given their best…the last few games have impressed that upon me. Best part is, Iginla and some of the others are all pretty humble about all of this… it doesn’t seem to have affected their egos (least not noticeably). Anyways, let’s hope the most deserving team wins.
thanx nido for keepin 'em updated here :D i didn't watch the whole game last nite, just part of the 1st period actually and calgary wasalready up 2 - 0...was happy for them, cuz there have been reallllly rare cases in the NHL playoffs so far where a team has come back from a 2 goal deficit after the end of a period...and then just checked the final score later on, found out it was 3 - 0...
wouldn't be able to comment on the plays cuz i didn't watch the whole thing, just a few mins of the first :p
DM, i’m the worst kind of fan there is - we both know that i wasn’t a huge hockey fan until last night Then something got into me… maybe it was the adrenaline in San Jose that somehow reached through the tv, or it was the sight of seeing “my boys” in San Jose surrounded by a sea of blue shirts and no one there to cheer them on Whatever it was, i am a certified Calgary Flame fan now… It helps that Iginla is hot (and single). :o
well, to offer a very rough recap - Iginla scored very early on in the first period. It was amazing - he was probably less than two feet maybe one foot away from the goal line… just pushed the puck in; in slow-mo, it looks like he just gave it a gentle nudge … You have to see it to understand it. The grin on his face afterwards spoke volumes! Right from the start, the Flames were aggressive… and i don’t know what it was about the Sharks, but they didn’t seem to step upto the pressure. Even though they had the home crowd advantage. Sharks got some power plays though, i THINK Flames had one power play (possibly two), but pretty sure not more than that.
However, having boasted now of the Flames’ win (Masha’Allah), i have to bear in mind that they tend to lose in home games. And tomorrow’s is in Calgary i dunno how it will work out.
i am so tempted to gloat in this thread, but i know (from firsthand experience) how easily pride comes before a fall. :( So i'm just going to keep quiet and humble and not do the bragging and the gloating that i am ITCHING to do :p
There are some cool pics from last night's match... i'll upload them into this thread from home, Insha'Allah.
