NFL 04/05 Season

I hope Steelers loose tomorrow so Patriots can have homefield.

^^

LOL …Steelers won…the Patriots shoulda play playoff game on road to prove their worth…Steelers are fo’ real..

genius - that was the game that exposed the weak run defense of Falcons… now imagine that playing against Redskins or Steelers who are leading opposition in less YPG.

genius that was the game where we were missing rod coleman. Brady smith and hall were injured and played sparingly. There goes the 3/4th of our starting defensive line. By the way, we do have an "weak" run defence. We are 8th ranked run defence in the league. THAT IS SIMPLY TERRIBLE. 8TH OUT OF 32 MEANS WE ARE WEEEEEEAKK. WE CAN'T STOP A HIGH SCHOOL ALL GIRLS TEAM.

Dude, i will say it again since you are having trouble understanding this. One game doesn't make the season. Going by your theory, new england has no shot at winning the game against steelers since steelers killed them earlier in the season.

ok - i didn’t know about Falcons missing their starters on defense - however Chiefs secondary unit did kick your butt. :hehe:

you guys are up against Panthers ‘D’ on Saturday at home…will see how it goes..

My friend lets not write off the Patriots just yet. In 2001 Steelers had home field and patriots beat the crap out of them. Homefield or no homefield patriots are still dangerous.

I think you misunderstood. Read over my post again.

wooohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11 and 3 baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vick had a nightmare game but at the last minute put on his superman cape. What a play to tie the game. How the hell did he manage to keep knees above the ground. This kid never fails to amaze me. The scary thing is, he is "struggling" with the passing game and we are still 11-3. Imagine what he would be like 3 years from now when he finally grasps this offense.

damnnnnnnnnnn!!! one tight game between Panthers and Falcons…it was the defense of Panthers that kept them in the game - and in the end they failed to recover the ball - the ball was knock lose before Vick turned the next play Vick-wise.

but before Falcons got the ball..why on earth Jake threw the ball to Colbert when Muhammad was wide open? oh well… i really want Panthers to be the last wild card team…hope they get it done.

T.O. is out for the season…and entire playoffs…:frowning: Watched it on Philadelphiaeagles.com LIVE. He has a fracture on his fibula - a small one 10 CM below the bump on the side of your knee but that is not the reason he is going to be out.

he suffered a high ankle sprain that is bad enough that it requires surgery - He is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday and there is a chance that TO could play in the Superbowl, if the Eagles make it.

they are surgercally putting a screw in his ankle to make sure it does something. Now their trainer said that TO is meticulous about his body and if anybody can heal fast, TO can do it.

They will try him out on the bike and let him swim 3 weeks after surgery, and see if he can run 5 weeks after.

The trainer said the ankle specialist told him that he has never seen this fracture in the fibula with no lower ligament damage, but TO came up negative for ligament damage. The trainer said that TO had a high ankle sprain earlier in his career and that the scar tissue could have taken all the pressure and that is what caused the fracture.

That’s all i could get.

Damn and i was hoping Eagles would win it all this year - I highly doubt it without TO now.

The Phins beat the Pats!!! there goes home field

Steelers now in driver seat to get the Home field through out playoffs - all the Steelers have to do to clinch home field is beat the Ravens - funny how tables turn, since the Ravens played all out last year when the Steelers were eliminated from the playoffs - and now they’re fighting for their playoff lives and have to beat the Steelers.

yay, michael vick just signed a 10 year contract. good news for us, bad news for everyone else. :dhimpak:

NFL Playoffs Picture

Saturday - 01/08/05

• Rams at Seahawks

• Jets at Chargers

Sunday - 01/09/05

• Broncos at Colts
• Vikings at Packers

Rams at Seahawks: i think Rams will win at Seattle - Seahawks defense has been worry - and don't be surprise if in this match we see more runs than passes.

Jets at Chargers: The Jets have already beaten the Chargers at Qualcomm this season, I believe it was week 2.

But keep in mind that was before Drew Brees got in his grove.

Chad Pennington was never a strong armed QB, but after the shoulder injury that sat him out a few weeks, he has the weakest arm I've ever seen on an NFL QB this side of Koy Detmer. He just can't make the throws neccessary for the Jets to win, and the sad thing is he has receivers who are capable of stretching the field.

So I'm picking the Chargers to run away with this one.

Broncos at Colts: i m saying Colts, and I'll simply stick to it. Jake Plummer is a player that's too hard to trust in games like this - and he'll be facing major pressure from Mathis and Freeney and he won't be able to roll out like he likes. Though this will be closer than a lot of people think because you'll see the Broncos doing a lot of ball control (or at least that's what they should do), it should be the best game of the weekend.

i see the game on the line the Broncos driving, Jake Plummer drops back and throws an INT to close the game out.

Vikings at Packers: Minnesota drives down the field with about a minute left scoring a touchdown, Daunte Culpepper is having a great game, giving them a 31-27 lead. Which leads to the Packers driving down the field touchdown Donald Driver.

Packers head to Atlanta.

I decided that this game won't be won by a field goal, but Brett Farve will make sure that the Packers will definitely have the ball in their hands with the game on the line.

Note: Steelers, Patriots, Eagles and Falcons have the bye week.

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

Rams, Chargers, Packers and ofcourse Colts will advance!

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

Vikings pulled out a major upset! 4 interceptions in one game compared to 11 total during regular season
[thumb=H]randy%20moss1195_4568919.JPG[/thumb]
That pretend mooning was just too funny, bad taste, but funny nonetheless.

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

colts against that secondry :(

lol Sheraz feeling bad about your Patriots? :hehe: it’s going to be a fun game..

so i went 2-2 on my prediction.

Colts burned out Broncos - the game was over by the half - Manning’s stat were even better when both clubs met last year.

Matt Hasselbeck reverted back to his ways of late last year - he was moving in the pocket kept focused down field and was sharp on his throws but the problem resurfaced as Seahawks receivers just couldn’t catch passes - and Rams won.

the most disappointing loss was for me of Chargers.. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! i listened to Marty before the game talking about the keys of winning..

“field position and protecting the football”

So the Chargers go out and played vintage MartyBall…not new and improved MartyBall, but borefest MartyBall…and they lost

WAY TOO CONSERVATIVE!!

Marty, what happened the only time you threw the ball downfield all game long? I’ll tell you…Drew threw a perfect pass, McCardell made a perfect catch, and Chargers score six points. But you’re right it’d be stupid to try for plays like that when we can just run LT behind out ****ty OL and lose a yard.

i had a feeling that the field goal was going to miss the moment LaDanian Tomlinson tried to bounce the run outside, as great a player as he is, that was a stupid decision when they were just trying to push it forward for a field goal. Where he bounced out lead for the kick to miss.

What can be lost in moments like this is how great of a season San Diego had, and i m sure people don’t want to pull out a moral victory, but this team wasn’t supposed to win anything - and they were AFC West champs who hosted a playoff game - they lost, but in the NFL playoffs anything can happen - in the NFL it’s all about sustaining success from one season to the next - now comes watching and seeing whether the Chargers can be just as good next year as they were this year.

If anything, a positive sign that came from this game in regards to the Chargers o-line Toniu Fonoti was throwing DeWayne Robertson (whose a load himself) around after Robertson stopped LT in the backfield that one play.

This was a great game - and unfortunately one team has to lose but in the end only one team in NFL ends their season with a happy ending.

BTW, anyone see that block by Jerald Sowell on Clinton Hart that lead to that Lamont Jordan run. i have always liked the Natural, but damn he got destroyed.

Classless celebration by Moss but that’s expected outta him..

Brett Favre is one of the best QBs to ever play the game - but he’s obviously not the guy he was yesterday - he made some boneheaded throws and people get on the receivers when they aren’t there to bail him out.

Great career, but Favre isn’t even a disciplined QB anymore, his fundamentals are shot and it’s like he’s just winging it out there, and that’s not going to cut it. Sure he still has the fast ball at times, but Favre leaves so many balls hanging in the air now that it’s riddiculous.

i have to admit Minnesota’s defense came out there and were hitting anything moving - It all starts with Kevin Williams and goes back, and the linebackers were doing a decent job of tackling - plus Antion Winfield provided much needed boost.

onto Divisional Playoffs - it’s gonna be tight!!!

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

st.louis comes to dirty hotlanta. I hope we kill bulger. Asshole made this comment after last year's debacle in monday night, "It didn't even feel like a NFL game." We killed his ass in week 2 this year. I hope kerney breaks his leg this saturday night.

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

Broncos :crying:

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

ty law and tyrone poole are really good cornerbacks...ty had 3 interceptions in last years game..its gonna be a great game..i just hope the patriots can score alot of points too

AFC Divisional Playoffs Picture

Saturday 01/15 - Jets at Steelers

Jets players are talking trash already - truthfully, this could be the best game of the weekend. If John Abraham is back for this one, watchout - The Jets defense did a great job the last time these two teams met until the very end, when they were just too worn down to stop the run because the offense wasn't getting anything done - though people call Abraham the 'X-Factor' because he didn't play in week 14 - well neither did Duce Staley, Plaxico Burress, and Kendrell Bell. All will be back for the playoffs.

Jets offense depends on how how Chad Pennington muscle out the Steelers 'D' - will he over come stomach virus and throw the ball like he did last week against Chargers? Though Curtis Martin is a rushing leader Pittsburgh is nearly impossible to run against - it will be his toughest test of the season - The one weakness that Pittsburgh has is defending the deep passing game - the Jets rarely, if ever, go deep - they live and do on the out patterns and slant routes. That works to the Steelers strength. Farrior and Porter can easily drop into coverage and Polamalu and Hope will be roaming the middle as well - Pennington threw 3 picks against the Steelers in the last matchup and I can see it happening again.

another match up that favors Pittsburgh is their WRs against NY's CBs - last week SD's biggest threat was Gates - again, the Jets have guys that can match up with him - where they struggle is on the perimeter with their DBs - they have no one that can defend Burress down the field. He might draw two defenders which will open things up for Ward...

Steelers should control clock and come out with a win

My Prediction - Steelers 24 vs Jets 13

Sunday 01/16 - Colts at Patriots

I almost don't want to make a prediction on this game - because i m about as accurate as a broken clock. I kiss of death without warning, but without lethal intent.

Now with that said -I like the Colts chances in this one - this is the year that they can finally get pass Patriots.

I'm expecting a shootout though IMO, the Colts are at a disadvanatge if they slow the game down - NE will gladly play that style and play it better than the Colts -. Indy needs to speed the pace of the game up and force NE to play at a faster tempo. NE can do that but it's not their preference - I'm predicting an old fashioned shootout.

My Prediction - Colts 37 - Patriots 34

NFC Divisonal Playoffs Picture

Saturday 01/15 - Rams at Falcons

there's really no contest in this matchup - Falcons D is well enough to hold Marc Bulger - watch out for DVD(Duckett-Vick-Dunn) attack - Rams are horrible in stopping the run - hell if Vick doesn't stack up 70+ rushing yards - he will be disappointed.

My Prediction - Rams 10 - Falcons 24

Sunday 01/16 - Vikings at Eagles

[thumb=H]s_culpepper_i18751_5733064.JPG[/thumb]

Daunte Culpepper

vs

[thumb=H]g_mcnabb_il18751_5733064.JPG[/thumb]

Donovan McNabb

The year was 1999 when two of the best QBs took the center stage in the NFL - The last time these two teams met, in an early season Monday Night Football matchup, the jury was out on third year cornerbacks Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown and their ability to cover big time receivers. A great gameplan by Jim Johnson which prevented Moss from getting deeper than the corners - woke up a lot of people to the fact that the young duo could play and it was the launching pad for Sheppard becoming an All-Pro Cornerback - Outside of the newfound respect received by Brown and Sheppard around the league, the Vikings have found a legitimate sidekick to all-world receiver Randy Moss in Nate Burleson; after spending money in free agency for Marcus Robinson to be the number two guy - Burleson stepped up in a big way with Moss out with a hamstring injury. Also emerging for the Vikings is Jermaine Wiggins - who was Tom Brady's favorite target in the legendary tuck game - has become a security blanket for Culpepper when he's in trouble - In front of Daunte is an offensive line that has had it's troubles allowing the Pro Bowl QB to get sacked 46 times - and if you sack Culpepper there's a good chance the ball could be separated from him - One the Eagles' defense a major change has happened since the Vikings last played them - and that was the insertion of Jeremiah Trotter into the starting lineup as Middle Linebacker while moving Mark Simoneau out to WIL since that change has taken place the Eagles run defense has become one of the better units in the playoffs.

After suffering some serious hits to the otherside of the ball with the injury of Terrell Owens - the Eagles are due to get defensive linemen Derrick Burgess, and Hollis Thomas back in time for Sunday's kickoff giving the Eagles for the first time since 2001 a healthy D-Line in the playoffs - i expect a close game in the end for Eagles to take - whoever has the ball in the last moments of the game will take it...

My Prediction - Vikings 17 - Eagles 27

Re: NFL 04/05 Season

Steelers, Eagles, Colts and Hawks are my picks. New England is going down bebbe :>
