NFL 04/05 Season

With only 6 days remaining till the kickoff between Colts and Patriots takes place, i thought that its about time someone opens the official unofficial NFL thread.
As you might know, the 4 weeks of preseason action are now in the books. Though they dont really count for anything, they do give you a sense of who might have a legitamite chance of winning it all this season. So here’s the final standings of the 04/05 NFL Preseason:

As you can see, Carolina is the only team with the perfect 4-0 record, they are my pick to win this season’s Superbowl. I’m also happy to see my favs Raiders getting back to their winning ways. So im picking Raiders as the losers in the Superbowl game.

Carolina will have a good season but i wouldn't say there aret a Superbowl winner or even reaching the Superbowl - the teams in the north have improved - look at the defence of Vikings and Ravens - Pantehrs don't have relatively good 2-string offensive players.

the season hasn't started - and i haven't seen the teams play the real football but i would say still it is Patriots to win it all on paper (on paper i.e.)

in reality - i will go with Vikings - and can make the case for Eagles too

Yeah i agree. Minnie looks pretty strong this season, their defence stronger than ever.

how about we all make our predictions for Week 1? just pick the winners.

Watching the game right now. Patriots have a 3-0 lead.

At halftime ----- Colts lead 17-13.
I don't really care who wins or loses but i would like to see colts as the winners at the end of the game.

Edit: A change in this week's schedule. Titans @ Miami game now moved to Saturday because of Hurricane Ivan.

Couldn’t have asked for a better start of the season - the Colts have a better defence than the Patriots(since Ted Washington is no more), however - Brady made great passes - the best was from going right to throw at the left corner to Branch if i remember correctly - and why did Billichick started Dillion as RB? give him the ball - he will make the running game…and improve my fantasy points.

Manning is 2-9 against the Brady bunch in his career.

John Madden has lost his mind - *Edgerrin James runs straight up the middle for 2 yards - The only player that can make cuts like that is Barry Sanders! *

Oh my - is this how bad things have gotten? i can’t bear Al Micheals enough - and now this comes from Madden?

colts have a better defence than patriots? NOOOOOO

patriots run defence was off in this game but i think they played better in the 2nd half..and they will improve as the year goes on..they have a rookie and a 2nd year player playing alot and give them some time..they will be ok..plus patriots defence is still being coached by romeo and bill bellichek..also dont forget they were playing against the best offence in nfl

Colts are best offence team in the league? i thought my Chiefs were.

so you do agree Patriots defence was off last night right? had it not been choking by the Colts last night - they could have won the game - i like prospect of New England but how much they will improve it remains to be seen - i tell one thing that you guys will miss Ted Washington this season.

how can you say cheifs have a better offence..colts beat them last year..plus trent green is no payton manning...colts have better wide recievers

yes ted washington will be missed..but oakland over paid him

Lmao. Did he really say that??? Has he gone senile already???
It was a very intresting game, really exciting.

Damn. Oak town lost to steelers. :(
Now i dont feel like posting all the other results.

I was soo expecting Ravens over Browns, but...
Cleveland Browns 20 Baltimore Ravens 3
douie!

Week 1 Notes!

McNabb and Owens - COME ON!!!!!!

Eli got absolutley blown up the last play of the Philly-Giants game - did anybody else see this? ESPN should just loop this hit and dedicate an entire SportsCenter to playing it over and over again.

New Orleans Saints had no reason to lose by 14 to the Seahawks - considering all the talent they have - looks like Haslett won't be around after the season.

Jerome Bettis 5 carries, 1 yard, and 3 td's might be the finniest stat line i have seen in a while...........

Clinton Portis and Champ Bailey both were great improvements at their positions on their new teams, but the Broncos got the better of the deal -as was proven last night Champ Bailey completely changed the Broncos defensive mentality - last year secondary was their biggest weakness - and now it seems to be cured - Champ also brought some plays on the offensive end of the ball.

Culpepper and the Vikings looked AWESOME - thier defense is improved vastly - and there 2nd/3rd string receivers make them extremely dangerous because teams cannot put too much attention on Moss - did anyone see the TD pass by Moss? WOW

Browns with the huge upset over the Ravens. Browns defense has really improved, and Garcia played great - combining his speed with his arm nicely.

San Diego got their first win - making them over .500 since 3 years ago.

post your observations of Week 1.

Chiefs have been the best offensive in the league for last two seasons - hello where have you been? the Chiefs lost the playoff because of defence - whenever Chiefs lose they do score 20+ points - it has always been about defence which is our main problem and was proven last night!

let's all have our week 2 picks shall we?
