(Pothohar is not an ethnic move because Pothohari is a boli of only two tehsils of Rawalpindi distt.)
Javed Hashmi have also started a talk about Sargoha province.
KP is also moving towards five zones/sub provinces /provinces or some other status.
Baluchistan was wisely divided by Britishers into five and the sixth Gawadar enclave.
Sindh have some different composition and about Sindh nothing can be thought at this stage.
I believe it will be very good for Pakistan although it is very late but it is never too late.

No , Not at all, I always count it a great mistake to finish the special position of Karachi by the military regime on Ist July 1970.
Please tell me how can you make a South Sindh province without the will of the people out side Karachi and Hyderabad but this is too going on its way.
Today the Sindh is administratively divided into two blocks and that is good for all.

Now this thread is older but it is a most serious attempt on issue of new provinces.
Since starting of this thread I am my self surprised that how we are neglecting the smaller issues and later those become the bigger one.
We have given very less opportunities to our 80 % areas to develop and that is the major cause of our failure in every field.
I am looking concerns of Karachi people and I am very sad for people of Dera Ismaell Khan who have no voice any where.
I am very happy to see that people of every region love Pakistan and if you can visit different sites representing local views and **facebook **pages, You will see their love to Pakistan although there is some unrest in Balochistan but still able to be managed with love and respect.
In the light of 18th amendment provinces have got more powers and now able to do more.
If you look at history and our present regions all the four provinces have a natural division of five each.
Sindh
Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabd, Khairpur and Sukkur
Punjab
Bahwalpur, Multan. Pothohar,Lahore and Thull (Sargodh ,Mianwali etc)
KP
Peshawar ,Malakand,Hazarah, Dera and FATA
Baluchistan
Four states and Quetta Zhob , excluding enclave of Gawadar.
(Gawadar and Rajanpur should be given status of Federal Districts)
Gawadar should be made a 100% free port
We can give them all a present status of Sub provinces with a deputy governor and minimum 50 % provincial rights to their councils may be consisting the elected MNAs , MPAs and senators.
They should be given a ten years time to act as sub province and later they could ask more or less.

Today I saw a great reply by ANP senior minister of KP
He was talking on the ceremony of hoisting the highest Pakistan flag ever.

He said that they have no objection if people of D.I.Khan and Tank join Saraiki province or some other wishes.

General Pervez Musharraf, former Pakistani president, speaks to journalists on Saturday at an iftar hosted by him at the Dhow Palace Hotel in Dubai.
Dubai: Former president of Pakistan General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has supported the plan to have more provinces in Pakistan in a bid to have better administrative control.
“Yes, I believe more provinces should be created all over the country as it will help better administrative control, reduce feelings of deprivation in different groups and improve the law and order situation in the country,” said Musharraf while addressing an iftar dinner he hosted for Pakistan Journalists Forum (PJF) in the UAE.
The Pakistani government led by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has been striving to divide Punjab into two province by creating a separate province in South Punjab but the Pakistan Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif has strongly opposed the move.
However, Musharraf said that more provinces should be created not just in Punjab but all over the country, including Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
"Decentralisation of power is important to give immediate relief and justice to people at the grassroots level," he said.
Senior leaders present
Musharraf’s interaction with PJF members lasted for about two hours during which he explained his motives behind joining politics and launching his own political party — All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). Also present were his senior party leaders including General (retd) Rashid Quraishi, Barrister Mohammad Saif, Dr Amjad, Brigadier (retd) Harris, Col (retd) Sher Ali, Khurrum Haris, Akbar Ali Shah, Farzana Mansour and Zil-e-Huma.
Musharraf reiterated that he would go back to Pakistan on March 23 next year after his party organisation is completed.
“APML will emerge as a third political force and alternative to the current political parties because the people of Pakistan want change,” he said.
He said that he would take his chances in a bid to make a comeback to power to save Pakistan.
Dysfunctional
He said the current government in Pakistan had become completely dysfunctional while the administration structure had broken down and the country was facing political turmoil in addition to the law and order situation.
“I believe the Karachi issue is more of an ethnic problem but there is some ‘external hand’ involved in creating the unrest in a bid to destabilise the largest city of Pakistan,” he said, adding that the Karachi situation should be brought under control.
“If the rangers fail, the army should intervene to ensure peace and safety of lives and property of people,” he said when asked whether the army should take control of the city.
Evasive on court action
Former President of Pakistan General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has refused to comment on a court decision declaring him absconder in former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case.
“I don’t have to answer these questions as my legal team is handling them,” he said when asked to comment by a journalist at an iftar dinner he hosted on Saturday in Dubai. However, he was surprised at the seizure of a bank account worth Rs80 million.
“If it is mine, then please give it in charity,” he laughed. An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday ordered seizure of Musharraf`s property and freezing of his bank accounts while declaring him absconder in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case.

seems like a fair and unbiased divide but the idea behind it should be better governance, it should not be politically motivated i.e. to make it easier for a particular party to win a general election or win more seats in the NA etc.

This is quite off the topic of the thread but I find no thread to past it there.
I wanted to add one thing more. Grand son of Khan of Kalat (1947) told that his grand father was not willing to join Pakistan, Qauid e Azam was lawyer of Khan of Qalat. Qauid many time asked him to merge his state in Pakistan but he denied, One day he all of a sudden decided to join Pakistan, When family asked the reason, he said that Hazarat Muhammad SA came in his dream and asked him to join Pakistan.
We all believe that there could be no fake dream about holy prophet.

PPP would never let go of karachi and hyderabad, as then what will PPP show and shove its jiyalas at? There is nothing worth while that PPP has ever developed in interior sindh and idle hands would lead to a revolt against PPP there.
