Why not Pakistanis should think on it.
Saraiki Soobah or Multan province is a very old demand.
Hazara Soobah Tahrik is too active and many lives were lost in a very sad incidebt during this movement.
Demand of Bahawalpur province is too old and yesterday (Thursday) a new face has been started .
People of Bahawalpur started their movement for a separate province.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

What is your PPP's take on it? I am sure they were against it and PML-n is non-starter, so there goes democracy for you.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Somebody make a poll, i say yes, we need more provincial autonomy in all 4 provinces + Azad Kashmir.

I also feel that parties like the PML(N) who currently hold Punjab will be dead against dividing up the province as that will erode the land under their control while PML's opponents want to see this happen so they can also exert their influence more and in areas the PML has little influence especially South Punjab.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

am also agreed for more pvovinces/divisions.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

I am a supporter of Bhutto and Pakistan is my priority.
Do you know the name of Kharak Singh.
Perhaps no.
But may you have listened.
Kharak Singh kay Kharknay say kharkti hain khirkian
Aur khirkion kay kharknay say kharkta hay Kharak Singh
کھڑک سنگھ کے کھڑکنے سے کھڑکتی ہیں کھڑکیاں
اور کھڑکیوں کے کھڑکنے سے کھڑکتا ہے کھڑک سنگھ
Kharak Singh was son of Maharajah Ranjeet Singh
Multan was never a part of Punjab/Lahore before 1818.
Maharajah Ranjeet Singh sent his army to occupy Multan in 1817 but Muslims of Multan defeated that army. He again sent an army in 1818 under command of his son Kharak Singh but Muslims of Multan again defeated him. Than Ranjeet Singh sent a further army using all his force and that army occupied Multan.
Bahawalpur was an independent Muslim state of Rajputanh راجپوتانہsince 1690 which opted Pakistan in 1947.Later it was merged in West Pakistan (One unit) but General Yahya made it a part of Punjab through a martial law order while dissolving one unit.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Its not as easy as you think if the provinces are broken down according to ethnicity then we will have

1)Hazara sooba
2)Pakhtoonkhwa
3)Punjab
4)Seraiki sooba
5)Sindh
6)Jinnah Pur (a mohajir majority province)
7)Balochistan
8)and then the pakhtun areas of balochistan will be needed to be carved out and added to KP or as an independent province
9) There could be Potohar province in Punjab as well

A lot of commitment will be required for all this, but presently I believe the commitment is not there just for political ends some politicians want punjab be divided

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Aren't quetta pathans pashtuns while the variety up north is pakhtuns? Didn't we have couple of states in balochistan with the khan of kalat, lasbela and makran among some I can think of? I also think that they need to move away capitals to smaller cities so like sindh capital should be hyderabad for example.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Khabee tum loogon nay "Unite" hooney ke bhe baat ke ha? hameesha division ke baat karty ho. yar sab se pahley humara kaam ummah ko unite karna. ye soobay mobay koi maney nahin rakhtay. es se taasab paraste barhte hay

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Baja farmaia
India nay apnay soobay kai guna barha liay, Aaj wahan Pakistan say ziadah unity hay. Kabhi Rajanpur ja kar dekho, Aankhain khul jain gi.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

I am all for more provinces, we must support it. Same as Punjab the Balouchistan & Sindh should be broken too. :)

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

So my apprehensions regarding you being mqm lover were correct. But fact is that combined population of sindhis, punjabis, sariakis, hindko, pukhtoons, balochis, etc surpass the muhajir population, I don't know where that stupid idea you got from. Perhaps from 90s when that conspiracy was caught and corrected. Karachi was part of Sindh since centurries, what Anwar Pasha is saying is entirely different historical and geographical scenerio. You mqmers always want to divide Sindh on ethinic basis. Rest assure your dream will never come true. Division of Sindh will be resisted by other inhibitants with full force. Try it.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

There should be lot more provinces!!! division of Punjab won't be sovling any problems.. moreover the division/boundaries of these provinces shall be decided on the administrative basis and not of ethnic basis...

1) Multan should be a province having following Districts/Divisions in it : Bahwalpur, Rahim yar Khan, Multan City, Dera Ghazi Khan, JacoobAbad, Sukkar and Khairpur as one Province

2) Tribal Areas of Pakistan (FATA), should be declared as province of Pakistan with their own provincial assembly and representation in Senate and NA

3) Gilgit-Balitistan & AJK ( Already there), Need to give GB the statue of full province

4) Balochistan divided into three provinces Namely, Qalat, Gawadar and Quetta

5) Faisalabad which may include, Jhang, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Dear Ismail Khan

6) Sindh : to be divided in two provinces, 1) Karachi, with Hyderabad, Thatta and Mirpurkhas. 2)Larkana, Dado, Nawabshah

Now i know few people here in this forum might find it stupid (as anything against their will or say is stupidity, but the division is purely based on the facility of the people who can be close to their provincial center to get their work done... and some body do not have to ride from Sukkur to all the way to Karachi or from Rajanpur to Lahore to get their work done....

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

No more provinces plz

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

agreed.
..
just for benefits for peoples sake not for poltical.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Stupid,
Not at all
Stupid are only people of Pakistan because their wish , their history and their traditions have no value.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

There is no anti-Pakistan element in the demand of above said provinces. It will perhaps strengthen Pakistan.
There is no problem and grand expenditure in these provinces.
Bahawalpur , Abbotabad and Multan have already sufficient infrastructure to become a provincial headquarter.
Hope making of new water reserves should be little easy because Bahawalpur and Multan provinces will be supporting .
PPP, PML Q , JI , MQM already supporting these provinces.
ANP says nothing about Hazarah but in past they said that they will care about public demand on this issue,
See latest from ANP.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

I have little more to share with you.
Hazara was never a part of Pakhton area now called KP in the history. It has been some times under control of invaders coming from west (Afghanistan) however it was ruled often by locals or a part of Kashmir or Punjab. The Britishers made it a part of NWFP (KP) in 1901. All roads ,roots and small railway links goes to Punjab and Kashmir except one link of the way across newly built Tarbela Dam.
History since Alexander

Now coming to Bahawalpur,Some historic signs.

Re: New Provinces ; Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazarah

Nothing comes out of having more administrative divisions.

Pak needs economics growth and a dramatic improvement in the law and order situation. The government should work on these rather than targeting the HEC, making more provinces etc. Just populist moves that would appeal to their jaahil constituents.
