Would somebody tell Pistons that NBA Finals have started and they are in 0-2 deficit?
It’s truly amazing how Detroit’s effort and inconsistency is so different from last year. Had the Pistons put forth an effort this series like they did in last year’s Finals, this probably would be tied 1-1, with each game probably being very close. I just don’t see the fire or consistency, and I certainly don’t see the same Ben Wallace anymore, I don’t see the Nasty Sheed anymore.
Some well deserved MVP chants for Ginobili at the end of the game last night. He’s been THE DIFFERENCE in this series. Dominating at the most crucial stages of the game. 27 points on 8 shots last night. One more good to great game and the MVP is his.
Its very simple for Pistons now. They have to win the next three at home and clinch one at San Antonio. A loss today will effectively end their season. No team in NBA history has come back to win an NBA championship after being down 0-3.
I know. Since the beginning of the year I thought shaq will take the championship but his team didn’t help him a lot :-s He can’t do everything alone :@ I hate pistons too. Welcome to the clubhug InshAllah its gona be 4-0 (Edit: never mind. Now keep your fingers cross for 4-1 =p)
Just a side note on this year’s finals i think they suck big time not because of the teams but because of the points :@ seriously look at the points per game. Gosh, its final not the beginning of the season
-yes i heard.. I m soooooooooooo happy.. now that kobe and phil can work together i think lakers will be back and bball will b much more exciting…
-and the finals.. Oh god… first 2 games it seems like detriot dont know how to play but hey they won yesterdays… i still think they were playin dirty.. spurrs will be backkkkkk..
-plus i miss charles barkley and Kenny smith… i love there comments afterwards.. it no fun to watch bball with out them..
yes I agree, TNT's aftergame coverage is hands down mucho behter than ABC/ESPN.
Zen-man Phil is back in LA, but it will take some time before Lakers win the championship again. Lamar Odom is no Shaq Diesel and Kobe cant do it all by himself. I hope thats something Kobe has learnt this season.
It is so good to have him back. I was watching Phill’s interview yesterday and he said kobe called him in the morning and congratz him for the 3-year contract and then they showed kobe’s interview ahem ahem and he looked happy too so i guess LA is back in business. Let’s hope that kobe and Phil work together and kobe actually listens to him. Phil has talent and he sure can bring another championship but only if players listen to him especially kobe. Now all we need is someone in center :@
I still say go spurs go even though they lost with a big lead yesterday =D It doesn’t matter how pistons play i still feel spurs is a better team.
Brutal, ruthless...the Pistons just flat out beat the hell out of Spurs. The worst loss for Spurs in playoffs and record low 4 turnovers for Pistons in the NBA Finals.
WE HAVE A SERIES! None of the games are competitive, yet WE HAVE A SERIES!
Now comes the precious Game 5. Just can't see Pistons losing at home. Not with the way they've played these past two games......and especially after seeing how soft Spurs can STILL be when teams get physical with them.
Tim Duncan's legacy on the line tonight and for the rest of the series. No superstar should ever have 3 straight bad games in a row on the biggest stage of the game. People don't forget these easily. If he stinks it up tonight, his value is gonna dip down in a lot of people's eyes(it already has). And if the Spurs lose this series.....then this will be another chokejob for this team and will round up an awful year for TD. Started with blowing the lead against LA last season where he disappeared. Then his mediocre play in Athens'. And now this.....so TD better step it it up tonight!
OK well. Dunkin Duncan didnt look sharp at the free throw line during the waning minutes of the regulation (missed 3 out of 4 that could ahve prevented the game from going into OT) but the man of the hour was Robert Lahori. He delivered the big three pointer that served as the dagger in Pissed-on's hearts. The series is over folks.
There’s plenty of reason to believe Tim Duncan is the best player in the league. Like, say, scoreboard, statistics, accolades, awards, general consensus, and of course, watching basketball.
So Duncan had a bad fourth quarter and overtime. He still put up 29 points and grabbed down 19 rebounds. Who else in the league does that? Did people even notice him getting those numbers? Without Tim Duncan’s production the first three quarters the Spurs would not have been in a situation to win the game at the end. He’s the best in the game right now.
Oh yeah, and Stuart Scott.. is the absolute worst sideline reporter ever in sports.
Talha, dunno was it you or PT that was all goo-goo-gaa-gaa over Tony Parker and/or Mano Billi either this year or last year or in 2003 when Spurs won. But anyway.
The fact is the Spurs wouldnt have won game 6 w/o Robert Lahori's 21 pts (they all came in 2nd quarter). On a side note, Pissed-ons played a physical, dirty game hitting pappoo boy Parker a couple times in the face/mouth in the last 5 minutes of the regulation. I felt there shoulda been offensive fouls called by the referee.
I agree about Rob’s effort but Timothy set the tone in three qtrs. Spurs wouldn’t be able to kept the game close had Timothy’s numbers weren’t there - His legacy was online and he came through (minus free throw shooting). Tim Duncan has 2 MVP’s, 2 titles(maybe three by the end of this week), 2 finals MVP’s, has been 1st team All-NBA every year since he came into the league, 1st team defense every year but two, where he was 2nd team. Additionally, through a lot of personnel changes, the Spurs have still had the best winning percentage in all of sports since he came into the league. That is the resume of a top 10 player. He is only 28 years old too, damn. His HOF monitor is already higher than Shaq’s, who is several years older and considered a near top 5 player ever. Don’t sleep on Timmy just because he is so subtle. Though, between Tim and KG - I will take KG any day.
I'm not going to make any predictions as both these team have just laid it all out on the line. Strengths and weaknesses have been exposed. They are evenly matched. It's now a question of who wants it most.
