Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Mavs have started to squabble....I see a series sweep on the cards.....Pheonix all the way...

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

hahaha…yea whatever..

mavs aren’t nuggets..

this is going to be hard fought series..

Nah - I don’t think Mavs-Suns is going to hard fought series. Mavs are going into the 10th playoff games and Dirk hasn’t had his “monster game” He, along with Shaq are the only two superstars player who have yet to perform. My view of it is that there isnt much creativity or ball movememt in Avery Johnson’s offense to get him open looks compared to Don Nelson’s offense.

OR

He misses Nash very much.

The Suns played great defense when it counted, in the fourth quarter last night. The only stretch there where PHX defense got lucky was when the Mavs were jackin up threes near the end. They couldn’t hit anything.

There were some atrocious calls this game, but it’s tough. The players complain on every single play on both teams. Their hearts are in it, and they want to win more than anything. So naturally, they get emotional. I just hate when that begins to affect the ref’s judgement, and I think it did.

Kudos to JJ2 for stepping up with some great defense, and 17 and 8 filling in for JJ. Suns missed JJ’s penetration and smooth passing…and of course his 48% dead on shot from 3. They could have let the game slip away, but they showed heart at the end. Nash was the man in game 3. 27-17. Wow. And Amare was just nasty this game. And to think, this guy is 22 and will only get better.

Suns pulled out a road game where they gave up a frustrating 24 offensive rebounds. That’s tough to do for any team.

Woo Hoo for Indiana Pacers. :dhimpak: The Pacers have the right mentality to be a championship team. They play great defense, they play team ball, they are experienced, they have depth, and most importantly they have amazing coaching. My only question is whether or not they can score enough. Haha Larry Brown, why you crying?

Man, this Pacers team with Artest would have had a real shot at the title. Heck, if they keep playing like this…maybe this team does.

Foster is a Monster. How could this guy pulls down more offensive rebounds than whole Pistons team combined is beyond my imagination.

It may be Reggie’s year in the league but it is going to be crowning one no matter how Pacers’ season unfolds.

Looks like Avery has figured out how to beat Suns. Tonight's game is going to be one to remember. Will Mavs upset Suns? They sure can if they stick to the Game plan as they did in Game 4. I wonder if the winner of Game 5 will put their foot to the throat, or let 'em live for game 7? Phoenix swept the Griz, but no sign of a killer instinct yet in this series by either of them.

Spurs and Pistons are one game away to qualify for their respective conference finals.

It wasn't a great start of the playoffs but this could turn out to be a good one in the end since all teams are highly talented and balanced ones.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Yeah man,, Steve Nash is giving it to the Mavs nicely tonite

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

my Pacers :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Reggie Miller, you’ll always be my favorite

detroit

Players like Reggie are a dying race. He's played for one team his whole career, and he can move without the ball like no one else.

Alot of props to Larry Brown and the Pistons for their actions at the end, for a team that was involved in such an ugly incident earlier in the year, it really showed great sportsmanship for the game of basketball last night...

Even though, he's retired but the chant of his name will never be forgotten.

*Reg-gie Reg-gie Reg-gie * :(

Okay, that does it! The Suns have made a believer out of me. Not that I've ever said the infamous "You can't run in the playoffs!" line. Not that I didn't know they were good. But I didn't know they could be this resilient. What an amazing display by Phoenix tonight, after losing Johnson. After losing Stoudemire fairly early in this one.

Steve is Nashty! This four-game display he has put on is some of the most amazing basketball I've ever seen in the postseason. Unbelievable. He orchestrates every last thing for this team.

Dirk has lost a lot of respect from me this postseason. He calls out Dampier after getting negated by Ryan effin' Bowen in the first round, he calls out the team's postseason MVP right there on the court just mere seconds after Nash buried the tying shot right in Nowitzki's face. Terry has had an incredible playoffs. Dirk's hasn't even been the second-most valuable. That's Josh Howard. And Stackhouse is debatable as the third. When you're an All-NBA First-Teamer and the best scorer on a team loaded with them, you need to do a better job leading. Dirk's shot wasn't falling, but that wasn't the only thing that broke in his game. He wasn't playing any defense, Marion and Nash were destroying him, and he basically shot his team out of the 2004-2005 season tonight.

Amazing performance by Phoenix tonight. I'm looking forward to their series with the Spurs more than I looked forward to this one.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Heat....ya Baby

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Miami and Spurs :k:

The inevitable matchup. Now that it's finally here, I'm excited.

I don't think the Heat will seriously challenge the Pistons in this series. Pistons in 5 if Shaq is still hobbled, Pistons in 6 if he's healthy again. Their defense closes on shooters so quickly, that the Heat won't get the open looks they got in the first two rounds. Kyle Korver and Stephen Jackson were both useless from outside against the Pistons, I expect the same thing to happen to Damon Jones and Eddie Jones. Dwyane Wade might have to average 35 PPG for the Heat to have a chance but again he's up against Tayshuan Prince who's taller than actually looks like on the court.

Pistons in 6 - There's no doubting that Miami has the best two players in this series, but Detroit has six of the top eight players in this series, and the best coach in basketball at the moment

Spurs' defence against Nash will decide the winner of Western Conf. Even though PHX avg. about 110 points per game, Spurs can also score that much and still able to beat PHX in their own game.

But then, Nash is on different planet. Nash will be Parker's problem and Tony plays horrible defence. It'll be interesting to see if Pops puts Bown on Nash.

Spurs in 6 - PHX have had a good run but here we are talking about Spurs who can defensively squeeze the life out of anyone. And on top of it, the bench of PHX is thin.

It'll be a great showdown!

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

*Put a fork in the Suns...they're done..... * Spurs with an impressive couple of games, winning not only the first two, but in Phoenix no less. They're still a little over halfway there though, and need to finish the last two games. Right now, the only way I see the Suns making it a series is if they make some kind of major adjustment, or if the Spurs collapse. I could see one or both of those things happening honestly, it's not out of the realm of possibility. All Spurs need to do is to keep the pressure on.

Spurs this year do look a lot more poised though. They aren't holding onto dear life to leads at the end like in past years, they are actually executing better than usual at the end. Horry's confidence, Parker's penetration and Ginobili's brilliance gives them a lot more moxxy down the stretch, and everyone else seems to follow in line.

If Heat losses tomorrow, it would be the first time in NBA's history that #1 seeds in both conferences lost first two home games. I can't hardly wait...

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Pistons all the way !!! Shaq should go and cry about it.!!! :dhimpak:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

^^ :dhimpak: I’m with you. Pistons are going all the way this year :dhimpak: go east sideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

heat lost
because ididnt watched the last game.:crying: :crying:

oh well go pistons !!!

Props to Wade for playing through pain. Heat fans should be really proud of their team for competing in this situation. Now sure if they are going to have the success next season as they had this year.

And great job by Rasheed Wallace to redeem himself, he was the best player down the stretch. I don't know what he was doing in Game 5, but he put it together last night.

'Bout time Pistons get the respect they deserve. Shaq should realize now that Rip isn't the only best player on the Detriot team.

I, for one, am looking forward to the Finals. Two defensive teams head-to-head is a treat to anyone who prefers defence over offense! The real match up, IMO, will come down to Tim Duncan against the frontcourt of Pistons. I like Pistons in 5 for 2-peat. The 2-3-2 setup is better for the road team than 2-2-1-1-1 for home team. It's tough to take 2 out of 3 games against home team(on road for Spurs). Plus, Spurs were barely a above .500 team in the regular season on the road.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Miami actually lost EEK now my last hope; spurs =DD go spurs go :hula:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
