NBA Playoffs 2005

Begins on April 23rd.

My team didn’t make it to the playoffs but I can’t neglect the intensity that playoff brings!

Personally, I’d love to see Indiana Pacers win it all. None of other teams would have overcome the adversity that Pacers have faced this season. Few players of theirs started the season on injured list, and then the brawl at Aurburn Hills have their players suspended for quite a while. Still, they managed to get into the playoffs.

It’s a long shot for them winning the title without arguable the best defender but hey it’s playoffs. Anything can happen!

Eastern Conference Matchups - 1st Round

*** Nets vs Heat:** Shaq will have his way. I just can’t imagine Nets winning a single game. Clean sweep - 4-0 - Heat advance to semi-final.

*** Sixers vs Pistons:** Sorry A.I. you can average 30 ppg in the season but not in a playoff series, not against Pistsons D. Pistons in 5.

*** Pacers vs Celtics:** Celtics got three stars. So does Pacers! But what C’s lack Pacers have had relied on it all season, i.e. bench depth. Pacers in 6 and one of the games will be a Miller Time.

*** Wizards vs Bulls:** Da Bulls made the playoffs. It’s Gordon, Hinrich(I shouldn’t have let you go in fantasy pool), and Chandler with Duhon. Wizards got three stars of their own…Larry Hughes(very underrated SG), Gilbert Areanas and Jamison. I like Da Bulls in 6. :dhimpak:

Western Conference Matchups - 1st Round

*Grizzlies vs Suns: You know what’s funny? We could see an upset here by a lower seed since Grizz have more depth than Suns. But I don’t like the way Grizz have played for last month. They got into the playoffs because Wolves didn’t make it.

With that said, Suns bury Grizz with 3s in 5 Games.

*Nuggets vs Spurs: No more dunks in playoffs. I hate George Karl! I wish Spurs give Nuggets the worst humiliation they can! Go Ginobilli!

Spurs in 6 or 5(if Duncan is back in full strength!)

*Kings vs Sonics: Eh, I am not really looking forward to this series if it goes 7 games. Both teams are well-balanced team. Since Sonics have the HCA, I’ll go with them in 6 games.

*Rockets vs Mavericks: Yao & T-Mac can do whole lotta damage but I think Mavs got the more atheletic background than Rockets. Plus, they have a decent bench.

I say Mavericks in 6 games.

2nd round predictions will be posted after 1st round’s over. Till then, make your own or don’t :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Predictions

*Nets vs Heat *= 4-1 Heat (If Jefferson returns or else 4-0). Looking forward to see Wade. He IS the next Michael Jordan.
*Sixer vs Piston *= 4-2 Pistons (Webber will make his presence known)
*Pacers vs Celtics *= 4-1 Celtics (Reggie will have a disappointing end)
*Wizards vs Bulls *= 4-3 Bulls

*Grizzlies vs Suns *= 4-1 Suns (Steve Nash MVP)
*Nuggets vs Spurs *= 4-2 Spurs
*Kings vs Sonics *= 4-3 Sonics
*Rockets vs Mavs *= 4-2 Rockets

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Celtics cruised in the first game because of their bench depth :smokin:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

how about Bulls winning the first play off game since 1998(jordan era!!!)
:k:

Winning game one is pretty darn big. Since 1983, somrthing like 84% of game one winners have gone on to win the series. The Suns are looking good, and poised to win game two as well.

THIS IS PHEONIX SUNS BASKETBALL

Gordon is just an amazing scorer, he is truly one of the best shooters in the league. In the 2nd quarter, I don't think any of his shots even touched the damn rim, they were all net. This coming from a big time Gordon critic. To top it off, he has damn good shot selection.

Personally, I think the Bulls guard may be better than the Wizards guards just because of the balance. Hinrich and Duhon are ballhawks who handle the ball really well and play smart basketball. They play great man defense while also getting in passing lanes. This makes Arenas/Hughes job a lot harder, and makes Gordon's job easier. Gordon has a better grip on his scoring abilities than Arenas does, and plays within his abilities better. Some of those shots Arenas was taking at the end were ridiculous.

I expect the Wizards to come hard though, and I know Arenas will make me look silly atleast one game in the series where he drops 35-40 or something.

Nuggets came out with the statement. It's 100% official...the Denver Nuggets are FOR REAL. Duncan played terrible. Martin easily shoved him away from the basket, and with a lack of mobility Duncan can't get past him. 22 shots and 18 points is horrendous offensive efficiency for a post player. Mohammed and Manu were the only Spurs who played mediocre-to-better. Man, Spurs are a vunlerable team! Opposition team come to your house and dunks every time and you don't resist. What a sissy defence!

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

My lakers didnt make the play offs :( but oh well.. i so wanna see either spurs or Rockets take this one.. i think iverson should get MVP.. he is been the only player who work his ass off.. and i think hez been so underated this year... he made the playoff all alone.. webber didnt contribute any thing.. webber is just so pathetic.. i hate him.. his has the most ppg avg.. and hez like #4 in asst..and steals as well.. I dont know wats up with all these nba critics goin after Nash.. and Shaq

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Denver beats SA...i like i like....

And with that said, 100 bucks Detroit wins the championship again.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Who’s Yo Daddy! ! ! ! ! !

Guys, if you’d like, I’ll add Gone Fishin’ pics here. I can’t share Kenny’s creativeness since we are not allowed to post pics related to certain channels but hey Photoshop Zindabad. Plus, there’s always my Journal for animations.

Anyway, back to the topic, can anyone else imagine just how good the Rockets would be if Yao consistently got the ball(he probably should have gotten it a lot more this game and he was still over 30) and if they had a real basketball player playing PF instead of Ryan Bowen. The Mavs didn’t even guard Bowen, and the Rockets were still able to hang with them and win at the end playing mostly with only 4 players on the court. All bowen can do is stay in front of his guy on defense.

A big woo-hoo for Pacers win! :hula:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

A Rockets fan in Cali :konfused: … you already have enough to be representing :hoonh: No need to come out of borders :stuck_out_tongue:

No phatima1..I am not a Rocket fan. I’m a Wolf. howls

But you statement have put me to come up with a thread of fans across the States of Globe. I’ll sure have it up by the end of week. :smokin:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

sigh Ok, I was just messing with you. I’m a Pistons fan myself :). But I’m in the DC area. Sorry, but the Wizards aren’t too hot of a team, if you catch my drift. :bummer:.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

just 2 words...Go Sonics!!!

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

:nook:

I bet the Pistons and the Rockets will be the last 2 teams standing. What say you all?

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Heat vs. either the Sonics or Suns in the finals.

Houston is playing really well and is benefiting from Avery Johnson's lack of coaching experience. Dallas is a dangerous team and could come back.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

Yea yea, Miami is pretty strong too. They might very well make it to the finals.

But, Detroit’s going all the way :smokin:

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005

I'd like to see a second round matchup between Detroit and Indiana.
