Zulfikar Bhutto was never shy of taking on traitors in Pakistan, and he taught the Balochi terrorists a hard lesson in the 1970’s. Bhutto appointed the late Nawab Bugti as Governor of Balochistan who then went onto play an active part in this operation, as it gave him the chance to destroy/kill his own Balochi rivals as well.
Re: Curfew imposed in Quetta due to unprecedented violence
Curfew has been imposed in Noshki too. One of my friend who is doing his PhD and is presenty in Balochistan for his thesis research telephoned me this morning. He said everything is paused and law enforcers are visibky shaky and they are panicking as if a full fledged war has erupted.
Musical chair game goes on. However, the same Akbar Bugti who saved Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi saying he wont act as a “kiraye ka ghunda” while he was the governor of Balochistan has been killed by Zahoor’s son, Chaudhry Shujaat and here lies the “laanat” and hypocricy.
It is ironic that same people who condemn the Balochi operation today as some sort of Punjabi “evil”, praise the operation which eliminated thousands of MQM terrorists in the 1990. Maybe because that operation was directed by the Pashtun Naseerullah Khan Babur, under the orders of the Sindhi PM Benazir Bhutto?
Both operations were absolutely necessary considering the amount of murder and terrorism being perpetrated by those groups.
Most of us would have been pleased if Altaf had been killed in that operation. There is no similarity between the two operations as there backgrounds, motives and results were different.
I dont know which of your point I have proved but you surely have proved my point that Pakistan is not a homogenous country where all federating units are constantly at war and their survival together is impossible.
Read my post again. The last part of your sentance makes no sense. But keep on trying and making excuses for mass murderers like Bugti who started killing people at the age of 12, and carried on right upto his death.
To those who believe he blocked the progress of Baloch's may please highlight the level of development we have in rest of the coutnry? And if indeed Sardari System is wrong, why Chaudhris, Sherpaos are not killed in Punjab and NWFP? Indeed the armed forces of Pakistan are the worst Sardars themselves and by all account they had and they continuously have compromised the development of the entire nation. Pakistan is at the worst crossroads today and its them who have brought this country to this juncture.
I condemn the death of Akbar Bugti and his family members at the hands of army and I condemn the rogue state of Pakistan who can not survice with endless hypocricy.
Thanks LI. Indeed there is no one to answer the questions which haunt us. There is a total loss of unity in our country and we all are bluffing as we are unheard and those who represent us are not the ones we like to represent us.
