I've stayed away from mint polish, thinking it wouldn't look right....but it looks lovely on you, M. I think I might try it out as well one of these days. Right now, I'm more into french, red (especially glittery reds).

How do you make nails stronger? I can't grow my nails at all. I prefer shorter nails but they just chip so fast. =/
Maybe try a multivitamin...there are supplements for nails. You could try wearing gloves while doing the dishes. I've heard that filing your nails in a square shape helps them to maintain their length, I dont know how true that is. You can also try Nailtiques, the generic version is Nailtek. My manicurist recommended it, she said that she's noticed that clients who applied it regularly had stronger nails and their nail polish lasted longer.
I need to take care of my hands more. I never paint em though. How can we keep nails and hands looking nice without any nail polish not gen clear?
Your hands can still look nice even without nail polish. Moisturize your hands...especially during the winter as skin tends to become more dry. You make a scrub from olive oil, sugar, and a bit of lotion.....I don't measure....I just make a really scrubby consistency. Run your hands through some warm water to open up the pores...and give them a good scrub/massage with the mixture for a few minutes...and then rinse off. You'll notice that your hands will feel really soft...and then apply moisturizer again. Have you ever tried those paraffin wax treatments for hands/feet? It's fun and leaves the skin soft. For the nails...just file them all to the same length and shape.

Thanks! I love mint/turquoise/jade colors so I had to have this. The shade is Jade by Chanel. And I find my nails stay the strongest when I keep them painted. They are so prone to chipping/peeling/cracking when I dont. I paint my nails weekly or so and I always use a base coat and finish w/ 2 different types of top coats. I also rub almond oil into my bare nails and cuticles. I’m anemic so I have to eat prescription-strength iron so I guess that may help too?
Thanks, RV! And I’m ALWAYS into reds too! This green polish was a few weeks ago. In fact, I have Real Red by Avon on my nails now (saw it in a video on Youtube and fell in LOVE!) and it’s a gorgeous color! Excuse my bad lighting:

A serious pet peeve of mine is ^ I call them fangs.
I have seen fakes break off and take real nails with them. I am terrified of them.
I keep mine short, shaped and rounded most of the time. A little bit of the tip shows but that’s all. I do paint them quite a bit though.

This is how my nails are and their natural…i can’t keep up with the fake one’z
their just too much work. Real ones are so much easier and plus i don’t have to re-apply nail polish for like 2-3 weeks (without chipping)

I keep mine short and natural for the most part. For special occasions I get soak off gels to last for a while (example: vacations, weddings).

here’s some of my colours because i figured everyone’s doing so i might as well too haha, the yellow isn’t very visible but i looovee it. the pink was my least fave, i’m not a fan of pink

Which one, Sara? The green one? It’s by Chanel, called Jade. And the Rose Salve is amazing, I use it for my cuticles after my top coat is done drying and it’s wonderful. I also love almond oil too.

Aaaw, thanks,M. It's only my left hand that I like. My right hand, which is dominant, takes a lot of abuse and doesn't look as nice.....I call it my my "man hand"....and there was a time when I'd only polish my the nails on my left hand, lol.

I like keeping mine natural, never thought of having acrylics etc. done but maybe i will try it out once for some special occasion just for fun.
get to wear nailpolish for one week per month so i keep changing colors during that week lol recently been loving minty green, nudes nd orange!

My fake acrylic nails. The lass doing them had a hissy fit that I wanted them this short, but I don’t like long nails, cannit de housework with long nails

Wasai, do you guys have trouble painting your dominant hand? I'm a rightie and hated applying polish on my right hand because it would get all over the place and I'd have to do some serious cleaning up after. But I follow this technique now and if you look at the red polish picture I posted above, you can see it looks neat and isn't all over my cuticles etc. I could never do that before but with this technique, it changed my polis routine completely.
The technique is to hold the polish (as in the brush) not between your thumb and index but rather between your middle and index finger and press it against your middle finger with your thumb. For some reason, it seems more balanced that way.

I'm not a fan of pink either - I can't seem to find a shade that looks good with my skin tone. I have a pale yellow/yellow colored polish as well, that i love. At the time, i bought a pink polish along with it thinking the yellow would probably look retarded on my nails. But it's actually the opposite. Can't find any pinks. =/

I have to keep my nails short and non polished cos of uni, but I don't like them too long anyway.
I do like experimenting with nail polishes tho.

I would love to have long, or even slightly longish nails but my nails are horrible. They are wierd. They tend to bend inwards if I try to grow them. Like even a little. They start bending after grow a mm or two. I even tried to get medical help. I was told its genetic :( but I remember they weren't like this when I was younger, like in my teens. I could grow them a little atleast. Now I can't at all. Anybody knows if there's anything I can do about them?
