Wasai, do you guys have trouble painting your dominant hand? I'm a rightie and hated applying polish on my right hand because it would get all over the place and I'd have to do some serious cleaning up after. But I follow this technique now and if you look at the red polish picture I posted above, you can see it looks neat and isn't all over my cuticles etc. I could never do that before but with this technique, it changed my polis routine completely.
The technique is to hold the polish (as in the brush) not between your thumb and index but rather between your middle and index finger and press it against your middle finger with your thumb. For some reason, it seems more balanced that way.
I use a similar technique, Im a righty too and the best thing I find is to hold the brush like a pen between the middle finger and thumb too, or otherwise just make sure the other fingers are out of the way!
I like my nails short to mid length. I usually shape them square with rounded edges, buff them, clean my cuticles, and finally give myself an oil massage. I apply a base coat, which I haven’t been lately, then 2 coats of nail polish and a topcoat. I change my polish weekly, and give my nails rest every 2-3 weeks.
I used to be into long nails. I tried to grow my nails long but then they wouldn’t grow. Now that they can, I don’t want them to grow long just because they start to hurt, so i keep them kinda shortish. Been experimenting with nail polishes lately. It’s fun.
