Re: My Rishta demands
My roomie had only one 'demand', and some not-so-important preferences. He wanted someone who 'loves God above all'. He found someone who did and it feels like a match made in Heaven. (He is not a Muslim).
One needs to know what you really want in your potential spouse, that would keep you happy in good times and bad. Superficial things don't really matter for a serious long-term healthy relationship.
you are right and to be honest i know this process wont get me anything great. but it is satifying my parents that they are at least making any initiative so i am happy.
there are many thing you do to make others happy. :)
Re: My Rishta demands
Okay so I think you need to clarify what you really require in a spouse. Is there anything you are not willing to compromise on? List those. Then separately state what you would prefer, but do not require. What can you be flexible about?
even if he dont ful fill any of this but i have surety that ALLAH SWT has choose him for me i will go for him.

Re: My Rishta demands
I kinda get why zobias doing this, yes typically resumes are applied to jobs and not mariages but in an arranged marriage where you don't know a person , you do sort of have to treat the initial stages like a job application. I mean if she has no requirements and just meets anyone who asks for her rishta she could easily have 100 s based on her eligibility. My uncle had a pretty set criteria and even then he looked at about 60-70 girls in a period of two years, simultaneously meeting them, talking to them etc. Don't know how he did it always sounded exhausting and confusing to me. So there should be some way to narrow down the search from the get go so you don't have to meet with a gazillion people.
I think your criteria seems fine maybe just make it more general instead of so specific ie shareef, Well educated, tall and enthusiastic about improving himself in accordance to Islam. And then maybe look at every potential suitor on a case by case basis.
Best of luck!
Re: My Rishta demands
^it's good to have criteria. But my comments are referring to to the fact that maybe they need to be reprioritized.
Re: My Rishta demands
ROFLMAO, I totally meet all your requirements though, except for age, I just turned 25. Plus I am married to a Palestinian chick.
I’m laughing at the fact that all those “shareef” guys in the U.S are going to be mommy’s boys and constant porn watchers. You don’t want that.
Why don’t you go for a guy whose at least had a few girls and will know what hes’ doing. So he won’t be “finished” in about 10 seconds.

Yes...atleast someone understood what really i am going for. I really appreciate you words. thanks

I dont want to hurt anyone. and if i priortize every single thing then it wont gonna take me anywhere. besides its not just me...other party also asks my qualifications, age, weight etc.
ROFLMAO.
that ain't even a IM language dude.
but glad to know someone got a good laugh on others expense.

No no, i'm sorry I wasn't laughing at you. You sound like a good Muslim sister.
What I meant was, a lot of the so called "shareef" brothers are "shareef" for a reason. They watch too much porn and are "mommys boys"
Go for a refined bad boy, that way you will get the best of both worlds.

kher i am myself a fine arts graduate and i am also very close to my parents but that doesn't mean i am mama's gals or daddy's gal. i respect their opinion and also respect them but only do things that i feel doing so it also doesn't mean i obey each and everything they order me.
Re: My Rishta demands

Re: My Rishta demands
lay…did i mention any where that i want to marry a rich (let alone filthy rich), handsome, caring dude? i personally believe that my demands are pretty valid cuz almost everyone gets education and almost everyone has read Quran (all they need to be is punctual).
