My Rishta demands

Since my parents are looking a rishta for me here in Canada and US and ALHUMDULLAH i am also getting many proposals so my mother asked me to tell her precisely what are my demands. Since my parents, especially my mother dont want to hurt others so she says to be as direct as possible.

so far they demanded is larka should be shareef, educated, and working here in Canada or US (and there are only three options for Pakistani guys to pursue as their career Engineer, Doctor and business) and between 26-29.

but now my mother asked me to narrow it down further more and i also believe that the above mentioned demands dont really do the justice.

so this is what I am going for so far

  1. Recite Quran every single day (even single ayat counts) with translations and tafseer.
Reason: I dont want to marry a gadha who has a phd in human psyoclogy but dont understands the rights and values of his parents, siblings, the people around him and especially his wife.

  2. Education
Reason: all my siblings, including me hold (foreign) degrees.

  3. height: atleast 6 feet.
    reason: I love wearing heels.

and the things I would liek to know after if and only if I get to meet with the guy

  1. is he planning to do Istakhara?
reason: it shows how much one has blind faith on ALLAH SWT

  2. his dream wedding plans
reason: i am a simple person and would like to go simple.

ps1: i know except for 2 and 3 my mom will reject all of em.
ps2. this entire process is so frekin hard :frowning: :crying:…but the good thing is ALHUMDULLAH i am not taking any stress :yippy:

Re: My Rishta demands

LMAO!

Re: My Rishta demands

haan haan app hans lain. khud ki nahi hoe isleya :mocking:

but honestly, i dont think I will find that ONE this way.

Re: My Rishta demands

Good points but,

  1. Many people are very "naik" and have taqwa in their hearts and actions but may not be reading Qur'an every single day.
  2. Very important.
  3. LOL, but you are narrowing it down now...make it 5ft.10.
  4. Again, not everyone feels the need to do istikhara. Perhaps simple duas after namaz are good enough.
  5. Good.

I think instead of asking someone about Qur'an, ask for someone who does namaz 5 times a day. That's a basic fundamental, and a farz.

Re: My Rishta demands

Ur demands r quite reasonable ,
Zobia wht abt EDAL … wht u think abt ths guy ..:chai:

Re: My Rishta demands

I satisfy all the demands apart from Istikhara and working in Amreeka.

Re: My Rishta demands

You'll probably find a good person, but you may well be missing out on a person who will be a good partner for you.

  1. The requirements for those specific careers are naive and silly. Okay, you want someone with a good career to be able to provide for you and the family, but limiting yourself in that way is foolish. Plus "business" could mean a lot of different things.

  2. Foreign degrees are great, but they are not necessarily better and your pride in your family's specifically foreign degrees is distasteful.

More later...

Re: My Rishta demands

Did you do istekhara before starting this thread? Just shows how much one has faith on Allah SWT, right?

Re: My Rishta demands

actually, its easier to pray namaz than Quran. so any Muslim who prays Quran would definitely prays and tries to pray five times a day ;). but these things are actually in my mind. i am not really strict about em. if he is willing to do em or even appreciate my demands I think its more than enough for me cuz many guys are against about everything let alone even offer their Friday prayers. besides, in my family not my every brother prays, or prays 5 times a day or even bothers open Quran.

only ALLAH SWT know what and who I will get.

That's gay.

Re: My Rishta demands

If not posting your rishta demands here then .. WHY the need to open a thread and letting life1 know about your quest andd adventure :hmmm:

Re: My Rishta demands

Your demands seem fine, Zobia.. Good Luck :)

Re: My Rishta demands

this criteria is for the initial stage. where did he get his degree from? what is its world ranking- US/canada ranking? how many years did he do there? or even about the field that prospected guy perused comes when me and family is even interested in him.

and whether I personally like it not degree is a way people judge you.

Re: My Rishta demands

Zobia, my two cents..... try to focus more on the personality and the guy's attitude/behavior when you finally start meeting people. Degrees don't really matter ..... his behavior/attitude towards relationships does when it comes to practical life.

Re: My Rishta demands

Istekhara is really really a hard process. Its not a requirement but if he does it then it will be good for him cuz may be I am not the one to be in his life.
